Audrey - you've really helped me to slow my consumption patterns down over the past year and evaluate my purchasing habits. Fashion isn't about trends or price tag; it's a slow and thoughtful process. Yours is one of the best channels out there - you show us that looking good without destroying the planet is an option. Thank you for sharing your work with us. All hail slow fashion 🙌

Don't give up! I started 2 years ago now and I am finally settling in. It took a lot of trying on clothes, taking pictures of myself, looking at those fresh and stale-this illuminated what I really liked and took my eye to different details.... I'm still learning! But it's finally coming:)

I'm the same! I feel so much better about myself now. I don't shop what I don't specifically feel that I absolutely want, I've started collecting looks I like on Pinterest, and overall I'm so inspired to use what I already have in my wardrobe (after carefully rinsing it off clothes that didn't fit well, didn't suit my tastes and that I hadn't used for years.) Moreover, I'm inspired to better my overall life-style too!
Thank you Audrey, you make me feel good about being me!

I dress them up and down and I have to say that I get so many compliments. But better than the compliments are how I personally feel about myself. The confidence and smile on my face add to the dress, heels, and hat glamour. I couldn’t have done this without you! If you were here I’d hug your neck🤗. Blessings to you for 2020!

Thank you for these great words of fashion wisdom! I can attest that what you say truly works. Here is a very recent example: last night I was invited to a friends house for a wine/cheese party and the dress code was "fancy casual". Even though I've been living the capsule wardrobe lifestyle for about 10 years, I panicked and thought I needed to go buy a new outfit. My old mindset said, "I have nothing to wear!". Then I pulled out my clothes containers (as recommended by Jennifer L. Scott, The Daily Connoisseur), and I realized I had plenty and it was easy to put together a nice outfit. Interestingly, I received many compliments about how nice I looked and really, everything was several years old and nothing too special but I felt confident and represented my true style without spending extra money.

I love dresses and skirts, but I often choose trousers because they seem more practical for my line of work, in which I have to be on my feet for hours, take stairs constantly, sit on the floor, and sprint unexpectedly. So, one of my goals this year is to build up my accessories' wardrobe to make sure I have things that will allow me to comfortably wear dresses during the day---tights, riding boots, knit blazers, cardigans, comfortable low-heel shoes, camisoles and slips...I've realized that if I add a few of these, I'll be more likely to wear my skirts and dresses without fear of flashing anyone or feeling constricted and uncomfortable.

Slipshorts! I wear dresses 95% of the time. + We have tremendous amounts of wind where I live. Not a good combination. I buy slipshorts that are opaque, usually in dark colors as most of my dresses are dark. Then I don't have to worry about sudden gusts of wind. They're also great for getting down on the floor or any other awkward position!
      Hope this is helpful!

Being an American, I can see we live in such a consumer-driven society! BUY BUY BUY. Shop everywhere (including the Internet and RUclips ads). It is so helpful to see videos showing how to be more selective and "limiting" your wardrobe to quality, timeless and beautiful pieces. Anything you can do to help keep promoting concept that would be terrific.

I'm 73 and Audrey is my style icon. There are some of her younger styles I can no longer carry off but the classics are ageless. I wear a uniform of straight leg or skinny jeans or black leggings most days with a chunky sweater in winter and knit tops in black or grey or tunic in warmer weather. I also have built a collection of beautiful long Italian cardigans and wrap sweaters over the years to dress up basic trousers and knit tops and crisp white blouses. Add a few Audrey type blazers a print dress, an LBD, a black pencil skirt, a denim midi some interesting seasonal jackets, a trench coat, a good woolen coat and I'm done. Basic black kitten heels, flats, white sneakers, sandals, rain boots, black ankle boots, tan riding boots make for a good shoe collection. A good leather tote, a structured dress handbag in a neutral color and a metallic clutch should cover purse needs.

@@annettepellowe9847 when you lose a large amount of weight, it is normal to have hairloss problems (same happens to women that brestfeed and after surgeries). Your body needs to adjust to its new weight and nutricional intake. I am currently taking vitamines and using a scalp tonic to minimize the fall. Usually the hair grows back, but it is quite normal to have it looking thin and limp for a while. Many people cut their hair after significant weightloss. Some just want a new look, but many do it to have a hairstyle that gives more volume for the moment.

Thank you Audrey, for all your inspiration! I would love to see a video about combinations of shoes and handbags. Usually one has more shoes than handbags and I tend to wear the same, neutral bag all the time 🤔
I love how you wear your scarves, that made me go through my scarve drawer and find some long forgotten treasures 🥰

I love your videos. A lot of times people are into boutique type of clothing, which feels so big to me, and it does not last long. I feel the clothing you choose is well thought out and made very well to last.

I love your common sense views of building a style. I like what you said about not getting rid of things right away but put them aside and revisit. I have a lot of clothing and I could probably build a wardrobe that I could wear something new everyday for a year. Lots of it is in boxes from my major move. I moved to my childhood home and have yet to go through the house and clean out. Lots of emotional things to work through because I have lost both of my parents. Time and effort are required for the working through. But I do have so many beautiful things in those boxes. Lifestyle changes are a big thing. Maybe you could talk about how lifestyle changes affect our wardrobe.

Maybe share a tip or two on skincare, although, again, your personal style videos are by far my favourite thing on RUclips! Honest! Keep it up, please!

Audrey, I thank you for this video and allowing us into your journey. You inspire me to be better.
All throughout my life people have told me I'm very 'churchy'. It was meant as a putdown I suppose. I've always been attracted to the 1940s style. I'm not exactly sure why.
But lately I've been experimenting and I'm not up to par on color schemes so I typed in color schemes which showed beautiful mixtures of colors but also popped up a man named Tim Dessaint. After a few videos I was in love with his style. Decluttered, manly, and colorful. I just love him and when you said you're almost masculine in style at times I could have hugged you! I feel that way often. I love feminine clothing but I also enjoy the minimalist design of men's wear.
With both you (of which I just found your channel today.) and Tim Dessaint I feel I will advance my skills. Thank you so much.

Great video! I look forward to putting this process into practice when I get back to my closet after traveling. One key thing I would add, though, is for those making Pinterest inspiration boards is to make sure that they are working within body type and color pallette. It can be easy to see something that looks great on someone totally different from us and then be disappointed when it doesn't look good on us! I did this all the time when I was younger. Don't fall into the trap! I think that the best approach is to follow someone who has a similar body type and coloration (of course, only if you actually like their style!)

I think I’ve found a couple of uniforms that I gravitate towards but I really want to branch out and include more feminine touches and ruffles as well as work on remembering to wear my accessories like scarves and not just a few pieces of jewelry. I’ve got a ways to go still but your channel has been so helpful in helping me upgrade my style and wardrobe in general. I’ve been cycling out a few items that no longer speak to my personal style and have invested in more pieces I know I will wear all the time. I do have a bit of a boot/jacket/jeans addiction but I am working to find inspiration from Pinterest and other images and recreate them with what I already have instead of being part of the problem and consuming too much in the way of fashion. It’s hard sometimes to really pare things down. That’s a goal of mine this year so far.
