Bombshell is the only insecticon that seemed to operate separately from the other two when he was helping Megatron with Nightbird. That moment also stuck with me, confirming that the writers at least understood that these characters had personalities and motivations beyond being a collectors set of toys. Unfortunately the writers were usually forced to do less than logical things from time to time thanks to Hasbro corporate
Back in G1 days I got a Bombshell and a Shrapnel but I never managed to get a Kickback and my parents didn't understand how frustrating it was to not have a complete set.
These are great. I think they're my favorite Insecticons ever. (Although I think G1 Bombshell had a much better alt mode!) I never actually had the Insecticons as a kid, but these are very strong in the nostalgia department anyway. They were so iconic. "Delicious, eh, Shrapnel?" "Uh, a little heavy on the electrons, [Kickback]!"
The "Confusing Little Flap" on his back has been revealed to be a place holder on the hinge. The Barrage remold uses it for the collapsible beetle horn.
I would like to see new versions of the lesser known Insecticons , like Venom and Barrage. I think Chop Shop got a combiner wars toy and Ransack got a Buzzworthy repaint, although would like a proper non repaint of him.
That tab on the head cover does tab in all the way, at the cost of scraping the silver paint off. I don't recommend it. I like these Insecticons, I'm just super frustrated that i have never seen Shrapnel.

I’d like to think that Galvy, Cyclonus and Scourge were possessed by the sparks of ancient Decepticon leaders similar to the original movie script, but still accessed the memories of the cons that were used to create them.
Just picked this guy up at Walmart and noticed a slightly different transformation option... If you rotate the robot forearms 90 degrees and lock the hex shape around d the bug leg into the hole that seems to be made for it, you get some better articulation options...
I went to Walmart today looking for Galvatron and I found out they finally stocked legacy evolution wave 4 and I had to get this dude, and now I want Shrapnel even more
You could say the G1 Insecticons are precious, but not some Japanese circles, since back in Diaclone, these Insecter Robos are from the Waruder Aliens that oppose the Diaclone army.
It’s just continuing laziness on hasbro’s part. They did the Stunticons the same. I’m fine with the arms being the same for shrapnel but the the legs are just not right. Retooling just one or two pieces on each leg would have led to a near perfect figure. I’m sure there’s a fix in the works being made by some 3rd party outfit.
I see all these videos praising Bombshell, and for some reason insisting no cerebro shells were incolved in the review. Odd for them all to specify that.
I wonder if they designed Shrapnel and Bombshell at the same time with the re-use of the lower half in mind. Because I just noticed that Shrapnel has the same connection points that have no purpose on him. So they don't added them later on Bombshell. Now I just hope for a leader class TFP Hardshell figure. I hope so much for one and probably many more fans too.

I thought Hasbro missed an opportunity to make the Insecticons into a new combiner. Throw in three of the G1 style Deluxe Insecticons and they could have had something new.
I think the chest would have been weapon storage but got scrapped last minute,then again if these are diaclone molds maybe the diaclone version has a mini figure that sits in the chest 🤔
I think they had some other gimmick in mind and they might of been designed back in the titans return days and they just took those designs and blew them up and incoperated the basic modern features like the most important things, bloosh points and ankle tilt plus paint more faithful to the cartoon colours

I only got Shrapnel but never got the other two. Now, I have the G1 reissue, from 2009, and this complete set so I'm very happy.

Tabbing those arms in is kinda frustrating. I ended up with the gun legs facing out and at an angle. At least this way they look like legs.
