Honestly, I'm gonna vote for the scorpions because I never expected them to be housed in a wall in the UK. The slug was also good though, it's just glowing scorpions are cooler. Great video guys!
let's keep it civil guys. this is a FRIENDLY competition. You know, "Oh yeah? Hold my beer and watch this." That said, Imma have to vote for the sea slug. To be honest, I didn't even know giant sea hares existed until I saw it in Coyote's show, let alone that they secreted gooey ink. That's...pretty weird. As much as I love scorpions, they're everywhere. That's my vote, and my reasoning behind it. Love you both, and keep up the great work!
I saw some in France, don't think they were the same species but they definitely were pretty big. Ofc I don't know if they use ink and slime to scare predators away.
They're not everywhere here in the UK. The closest things we have to scorpions other than at this one port is microscorpions, which don't exactly count. It'd be like finding a population of velvet ants in one port of America; it's really strange over here!
Hiya! Brave Wilderness fan here - glad to have found your channel through this competition. As an East Coast, US resident this is a tough one, the Pacific coast is just as far from my home as Kent. I've never seen the Western US, so many of the animals there are strangers to me. However, I did live in S.E. England for 2 years after finishing University, and even though scorpions are pretty common where I live, I NEVER thought to see one in the UK. Great Find!
Amazing work as ever guys! But is that the weirdest we have in the UK? If so you may have to ask the beeb to stump up some more travel funds if you want to win the next round, because that crazy sea slug unfortunately trumps the mini-scorpion... even though it is very, very cool. Keep up the good work - I look forward to seeing what you come up with next time! Would be interested to know how far those scorpions have spread as well? I've heard reports of them living in London? Do they cope OK with our winters? As far as invasive species go, they're definitely one of our oddest!
I'd have to say the sea hare that Coyote found was the most bizarre out of the two. Great video though! I hope you and Coyote do more challenges and collaborations together in the future.
Didn't expect a Brave Wildnerness shoutout in a BBC video! (Not going to declare a "winner" as requested, as I'm very glad to have both of your channels capturing different sorts of wildlife.) Very interesting about the invasive scorpion population at the port surviving for so long based on what must have been a very small initial population size! It never occurred to me that there would be no scorpions in the U.K., but in retrospect that does seem somehow intuitive. Wow, only feeding 4 times a year? Crazy. I also didn't realize it was _all_ scorpions that glow in UV. Thanks for the great video.
this is super hard to choose, you both chose totally alien species....But I think I have to give it up for scorpions in the UK, that is the LAST place I would ever expect to find a scorpion
although never ever knew that huge slug exists, taff choice, but it is sea there are a lot of weird creatures, so I'll go with glowing scorpion which exist there where it should not.
Very interesting find! And in a urban area aswell. As exiting as the scorpion is i do think that coyote has won finding the very strange slug that i have never seen before.
Yeah, I liked the giant slugs, they show the high diversity of life on this planet...but Scorpions in England? That's really wild! And the UV glow is awesome!
some animals like chickens can see as they're looking in a black light and certain bugs glow to them.my chickens can spot seemingly invisible bugs do the camouflage(in regular light , not in ultraviolet) and get them even at a distance
While scorpions are indeed bizarre, it's nothing out of the ordinary. Spiders are bizarre, and they are everywhere. I already knew that they glow under UV light. What I didn't know was that slugs can have ink. So for me, Brave Wilderness won this round.
Coyote wins. He too has found a creature that gives off a strange color, however not through UV light, but naturally. I also find the brown sea hare to be a little more exotic, because I'm dutch and we don't really get creatures like that here. Well played though
i think these guys have won cuz wt they showed is pretty bizarre.. like why would the scorpion glow in the dark under UV light?! i cant see a reason how this can be a surviaval adaptation for the scorpion, and thus i think this vid deserves to win for showing something that is very weird and alien-like
This is a tough one. I was definitely more stunned to find out there were scorpions in the UK. But I also think, that as far as bizarre goes, Coyote found the motherload. On the other hand I was more amazed by the scorpion, whereas the slug mostly just grossed me out. No! I'm going to give it a tie.
I'll admit the secret scorpions in the UK is pretty cool. Although the goal was to find the strangest creature. I believe coyotes got you beat with his brown sea slug.
Sorry, but I believe Coyote has it in the bag. Scorpions may be a bit creepy, but their nothing too bizarre. While you are holding a scorpion, coyote is holding a gigantic, 3 pound black slug, as well as a Sea hare that squirts purple Ink. Cool videos on both sides though, I never knew the thing about how the tail and claw size can tell you how toxic a scorpions sting is.
Gotta go with UK scorpions. Sea hares are obscure compared to scorpions, but this is absolutely the first time Ive heard of them living there. Show me something Ive never seen before and you have my attention.
I think in principle, the scorpion is weirder and probably especially weird to anyone living in the UK who thought they were safe from scorpions. As a resident of Arizona though, I come across them all the time so as for stranger looking, it's the sea slug.
I think people are missing the point. Yeah, scorpions really aren't that weird. I live in Arizona and I see them all the time. But, it's the fact that they're in the UK and just in one isolated spot. I'm not really sure who won. I think that the sea hare was a more bizarre animal, but I think that the happenstance of the scorpions is strange.
I would vote for Coyote on the most bizzarre animal. But if it were a competition about who could give the most information, I would have voted for you guys. I appreatiate the facts
I think Coyote won this one. If you guys had a competition for the strangest locations for critters then BBC would have this in the bag but Coyote won this round for sure.
I think scorpions in the UK is more strange than slugs off the West Coast. I never thought in a million years the UK would have scorpions. I thought it was too cold and wet. (I'm from Texas so it's mostly hot and dry here.)
I can't really choose because they both are just so unique in their own ways The scorpion can practically glow in the dark And the brown sea hare can ink So they both are equally cool I would say they tied
really cool contest and got to go with my boy coyote but nice scorpion. I love that color green. creatures of the sea are usually more interesting though
New viewer to both channels and after seeing both videos. Who would of thought Britain would be home to a scorpion in the "natural" environment of a shipyard! This video gets my vote. Besides I don't like slugs!
Awesome video guys! Love those glowing scorpions. The BW crew and I look forward to our next collaboration!
Thanks Coyote. So cool working with Brave Wilderness. Can't wait for -round 2- our next collab with you guys
Coyote Peterson your animal was more bizzare you win
BBC Earth Unplugged I like how you crossed out round 2 xD
cool yall both found arthropods
+Coyote Peterson You won TOTALLY
Coyote pack is here... 😋😋✌
yes we are
of course
yea we won
go coyote
Make yourselves at home
Yes we are😊
Honestly, I'm gonna vote for the scorpions because I never expected them to be housed in a wall in the UK. The slug was also good though, it's just glowing scorpions are cooler. Great video guys!
Mistr Nobod3 Grow up m8
***** I WILL WHEN IM 16 AND IM MOVE OUT
The slug Coyote found was weirder, but this Secret Scorpion is really interesting
It amazes me that they stay there at the same port they arrived at 250yrs ago
I remember David Attenborough doing a programme on those scorpions about 20 yrs ago, fascinating stuff.
XD
Heh, programme
let's keep it civil guys. this is a FRIENDLY competition. You know, "Oh yeah? Hold my beer and watch this."
That said, Imma have to vote for the sea slug. To be honest, I didn't even know giant sea hares existed until I saw it in Coyote's show, let alone that they secreted gooey ink. That's...pretty weird.

Coyote won by a hare! No pun intended
The coyote pack has invaded BBC earth unplugged 👏😄😀
I think coyote won cuz everybody knows about scorpion. But not a lot of people know about coyotes animal
Agreed. Scorpions are awesome, but Coyote's sea hare is MUCH weirder.
Well the contest was "weirdest creature" not "weirdest place for this relatively well-known creature".
have you ever seen that scorpion XD
BBC got DUSTUED! go coyote pack
TheUltimateGamer
No, I'm saying it's well known. You'll be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't know what a scorpion is.
We think Unplugged won...but then we would say that wouldn't we 😛
We-as just wants to hold da precious.
I think BW found a scorpion before, but it wouldn't be fair then.
That's mainly cause Scorpions are pretty common in the US
Yeah. Found a dead one in my lizards tank. I was thoroughly impressed with him.
Ok scorpions are not super common in uk yes but I don't this giant slugs are common anywhere.
What is a small scorpion against 10 pounds of alien slime straight from Spiderman 3? Brave Wilderness won!
Migel, sloth emperor Lol! That's what it reminded me of too.
well its a scorpion in the UK, I had no idea those existed
I'd say a brow sea hare beats a scorpion every day. But the scorpions are really interesting too! But in terms of sheer weirdness, Sea hare wins.
Hiya! Brave Wilderness fan here - glad to have found your channel through this competition. As an East Coast, US resident this is a tough one, the Pacific coast is just as far from my home as Kent. New here from coyote but you guys win for sure!!

Oh man that wilderness landscape is just BEAUTIFUL hahahaha
Scorpions are way cool, but in terms of what's more bizarre, then the sea hare has got to be the winner.
I'd have to say the sea hare that Coyote found was the most bizarre out of the two. Great video though! I hope you and Coyote do more challenges and collaborations together in the future.
Brave wildness bring me here
"Don't you dare go in there" New challenge, first one of you to slip a scorpion in your knickers wins.
my chickens can see in ultraviolet light which makes seemingly camouflage bug bugs very visible to them and easy to catch
Oh wow, I didn't know about scorpions in the UK
Interesting :)
Definitely subbed

Well put.
Gonna have to go with this one here, it was super cool looking the scorpions under the UV light
I'd have to say Coyote wins
Gerard Way's Hat coyote pack FTW
Gerard Way's Hat stay wild
Your picture is amazing
this is super hard to choose, you both chose totally alien species....But I think I have to give it up for scorpions in the UK, that is the LAST place I would ever expect to find a scorpion
that is absolutely cool, never ever thought they can glow like this under any conditions.

Even though I really enjoy Coyote I'm going to say that this scorpion wins.
Both very interesting and strange animals, but ink and slime is just too good
Cool. Your explanation was very detailed
not sure wich is weirder. The freaky slug or a scorpion in the UK. Leaning towards the scorpion tho, Awesome video!
Ha that’s mad! I really didn’t think that we had Scorpions in the UK? Brilliant, thanks for sharing
brave wilderness sent me
I saw a video about that wall a few years ago, some guy was trying to coax the scorpions out with a tuning fork.
hold on... you thought you could beat coyote with a scorpion? He lets that shit sting his tongue for breakfast.
sent by Brave Wilderness!
some animals like chickens can see as they're looking in a black light and certain bugs glow to them.my chickens can spot seemingly invisible bugs do the camouflage(in regular light , not in ultraviolet) and get them even at a distance

The habitat of this scorpion makes it much weirder than the sea slug.
i think these guys have won cuz wt they showed is pretty bizarre.. like why would the scorpion glow in the dark under UV light?! i cant see a reason how this can be a surviaval adaptation for the scorpion, and thus i think this vid deserves to win for showing something that is very weird and alien-like
thats amazing i would never belive there was scorpions in the uk
This is a tough one.

Where in Kent is this? Scorpions in the UK? That's awesome :) Still think Coyote's is weirder, though, since sea slugs just look so alien
Coyote and Brave Wilderness get my Vote.
Sorry, but I believe Coyote has it in the bag.
Scorpions may be a bit creepy, but their nothing too bizarre. While you are holding a scorpion, coyote is holding a gigantic, 3 pound black slug, as well as a Sea hare that squirts purple Ink. Good job, but I've got to go with Coyote Mate.
Gotta go with UK scorpions. Sea hares are obscure compared to scorpions, but this is absolutely the first time Ive heard of them living there. Show me something Ive never seen before and you have my attention.
that was awesome
Thx mate now I'll be thinking I habe s scorpion in my bloody boot!
I think in principle, the scorpion is weirder and probably especially weird to anyone living in the UK who thought they were safe from scorpions. As a resident of Arizona though, I come across them all the time so as for stranger looking, it's the sea slug.
Found the slug more interesting
a slug isnt more interesting than a scorpion unless your biased.
coyote won because a slug that sprays out PURPLE INK?!?!?
I think people are missing the point. Yeah, scorpions really aren't that weird. I live in Arizona and I see them all the time. But, it's the fact that they're in the UK and just in one isolated spot.
I'm not really sure who won. I think that the sea hare was a more bizarre animal, but I think that the happenstance of the scorpions is strange.
I knew you got scorpions in southern Europe but I wasn't aware you also got them in northern Europe
That was amazing!!! You won coyotes wasn't as cool
I would vote for Coyote on the most bizzarre animal. But if it were a competition about who could give the most information, I would have voted for you guys. I appreatiate the facts
Its weird, I didn't think there was even scorpions in the UK. I feel they both won at this one.
Aww, the little one is almost cute. :3
Coyote pack FTW 👌🏻😘😀😀😀😀🤘🏻✌🏻👍🏻
I didn’t realize the British climate was warm enough for scorpions
I think Coyote won this one. If you guys had a competition for the strangest locations for critters then BBC would have this in the bag but Coyote won this round for sure.
Sorry guys I love you but I think Coyote has it in terms of sheer weirdness.
I think scorpions in the UK is more strange than slugs off the West Coast. I never thought in a million years the UK would have scorpions. I thought it was too cold and wet. (I'm from Texas so it's mostly hot and dry here.)
I'd have to say coyote won with the sea hare but if this was a contest of who's was a more interesting animal I'd say you won
I can't really choose because they both are just so unique in their own ways
The scorpion can practically glow in the dark
And the brown sea hare can ink
So they both are equally cool
I would say they tied
My sister in law has them in her garden.she lives up a mountain in Wales!!!
really cool contest and got to go with my boy coyote but nice scorpion. I love that color green. creatures of the sea are usually more interesting though
hands down the sea hares were more bizard than a scorpion!
i thought this is a click bait lol. Good video! thumbs up ;D
Unplugged! We win! :D how can you bear a glowing scorpion that lives in a cold country like the UK.
Britain, Industrial zones, hmmm...
I guess these rave scorpions they had too much acid
Cool video!
I'm going to say this video won
A scorpion in Kent? What?!
Kent can get cold and showy some winters. How do they survive?
I have to say, BBC Earth Unplugged won. These scorpions are simply amazing! Sorry Coyote, better luck next time.
How could you hold these guys with your bare hand like this? Aren't they deadly?
Cara Lama I did, but the question needed to be asked. :D
i never knew glowing scorpions where living in british walls...wow that sounds so insane when said aloud
Most Northerly scorpion population is *northern scorpion* which lives as north as red deer, alberta, canada...
I had no idea scorpions were in England
aww maybe there are some in BElgium as well then if u know where to look
coyote
sent me to watch this
Amazing he glowing UV light in to his hand directly :D may be he is with UV lotion.
BRAVE WILDRENESS FOR SURE!
Yes we here
The real winner here are the viewers!
New viewer to both channels and after seeing both videos. Who would of thought Britain would be home to a scorpion in the "natural" environment of a shipyard! This video gets my vote. Besides I don't like slugs!
The coyote pack is here
If you call a flashlight a torch, then what do you call a real torch?
A torch.
And what the hell do you call a Fleshlight then?
Interesting they'r ein Kent, but I've seen a scorpion before. I didn't have a clue there were slugs that big, sea or not! The slug wins!
Sorry BBC. Coyote won this one. Keep looking for amazing creatures. Educating the world about the animal kingdom is wonderful.
If it makes you feel any better, Top Gear and Torchwood just aren't the same without you. :(
Coyote pack 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 love his accent, though
B.W sent me here
Scorpion looks cute.
