  • My test ride & thoughts on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350. Is it a fun little bike or a slow and ponderous thumper? Let's find out. Guest spot over the intercom by Damelza once again. ☺️
Huge thanks to Jack at Cooperb motorcycles in Bozeat for looking after us on the day!

Not just a first time biker, I have had Bikes all my life, various sizes, now 67 and had a Meteor for the last year, best bike I ever rode ! 🌞

You missed the main charm of the bike in your quest for ever higher revs ! A single cylinder bike sounds amazing with low revs in a high gear, just relaxing and enjoying the ride.

Fair comment, I guess my problem is that I do enjoy riding my bikes hard! But I can also fully appreciate the laziness of a nice bimble round the countryside, so maybe if I’d had a bit more time with the bike I could have explored that side of it’s character! Has to be said that it handled so well that it’s a bike that does lend itself to some spirited riding!

@@ukveganbikers well I have reached a point in my riding where I have stopped chasing performance, instead enjoying the ride. Not every one’s idea of fun, but on the right bike it’s a game changer. I have many bikes over the years since 1970, but my lates bike the new Classic 350 is by far my favourite bike to date. 🙂

@@Peter234100 totally get your point and there certainly are times when I do like to bimble about, and this would be the perfect bike for that.

Likewise been riding since 1970 and this bike now ticks all the boxes, on top of superb finish and build quality. What’s not to like, o yes now loosening up after 830 miles mpg climbed from 101 to 109 on last fill up yesterday 🙂

@@Peter234100 even though I was riding this bike quite hard at times, it barely used a drop of fuel! A big bonus in these times! 👍🏻

Absolutely! I am a certified speed freak, but I can also appreciate a lower powered bike for when I'm in just in the mood to take it easy.

I have exactly that bike, I prefer to call it bronze colour. The seat is very comfy untill I need to move position slightly then the sculptured form prevents me moving (I am 6'5") so by 45mins I am finding I need to get off and have a break. My other bikes are classics, 1960 Matchless and AJS heavyweights..they are more comfortable and much sweeter handling with more responsive steering..But compared to modern bikes the Meteor is sweet. Brakes are more than adequate especially for a rider used to classic brakes.

It is indeed a fine machine, and if I had the space I would genuinely consider one for those days when I just want a chilled out ride through the countryside.

see no point in wanting more power out on a back road ride, power power go on the race track ,

Nice, nice ... personally I'd still go for the cb300r in this class as it'll bimble PLUS cruise at 80 as and when required.

Certainly another great looking bike, although I suspect they are targeting a slightly different audience. I do like that Neo Cafe Racer look!
