This is really cool. I'm liking what's finally happening with modern Atari, seems like a positive step for the most part! The podcast is a fun addition, I didn't even know it was a thing until now! More companies should do this. It goes beyond basic advertising and I can recognize the dedication going into it. Tbh a lot of gaming history enthusiasts alone will easily recognize this and it will very much encourage purchases! Every release I appreciate Digital Eclipse more and realize just how much they've been contributing to the gaming industry for years! Appreciated. I hope the Atari acquisitions have a clear benefit in the future. I am curious how this modern version of Atari is getting so much money to keep buying up companies.. I'm guessing it's an investor situation because they still seem pretty small in scale currently.. when it comes to Atari, I hope they move beyond the inherent limitations that come with 2600 games finally and focus more on creating new properties that will eventually have their own new IP appeal
You think in updates or DLC you could include non-Nintendo owned variants of Tetris that are missing from the compilation? Such as arcade Tetris (Atari) or Hatris (arcade)? I’ve also read somewhere an archivist tried to reach out over a satellaview edition of bombliss
That'd be nice. And dang it, even some of the cool unique versions of Tetris I'm hearing about just now made in the late '90s that are prob pretty loved by people were PUBLISHED by Nintendo. I wish Nintendo wasn't so frustrating and limiting to deal with and they could work something out. It would make this collection even cooler. For some of the N64 stuff they would prob just want to entice people to sub to the app for. They still have a relationship with the Tetris Company with some collabs like Tetris 99 and such I guess, some Smash Bros stuff, etc.
and hope we get more modes in tetris time warp since only bombliss has cool thing was relay tetris 64 wanted for it's funky blocks in giga tetris or bio tetriis mode.
I like M1, but only Digital Eclipse can produce high-quality compilations at a good frequency. The only downside is that they seem to ignore most of the reported flaws. Still, they are the best company in the compilation business, which in the end, are much more than just compilations.
What do you mean by reported flaws? Their stuff has gotten pretty good support and regular patches for the most part I think. And yeah, SEGA used to release so much cool stuff when it came to enhanced ports, obviously some of the best were when they did it again on 3DS and Switch but then they must've got the orders from the higher-ups to stop releasing them on Switch. It had so much potential years ago, but they focused too much on some games that I think weren't as valuable to gamers at all
First played Tetris on a Game Boy demo kiosk at a store. Never did actually get a Game Boy until I had moved out, but in the interim I played a slow-moving version of Tetris I'd programmed for my TRS CoCo in BASIC
Hah, The New Tetris in the top 12. I always thought the block-building mechanic was clever and engaging, and I've always been sad they don't revisit the concept. I believe there were maybe two official games to do so since -- Tetris Worlds and I think some mobile phone game.
I know a lot of people are clamoring for online play, but I would also love it if bot support could come to Time Warp since not everyone has three local friends who are interested in Tetris.
I understand not including the Tetris arcade port on NES from Tengen, given the controversy surrounding it, but not including the Tetris arcade game? That is just wrong. I guess Atari no longer has the licensing right? The arcade version of Tetris is big part the history of Tetris. Maybe they'll add via DLC some time down the road? For those unfamiliar, this is the Tetris arcade game. ruclips.net/video/S_wLyoDkJ60/видео.htmlsi=vZ6QOHHSINFBxw_9

This looks great and I really hope there's a physical version. The irony of a game called Tetris Forever being digital only would not be appreciated!
nice to gave it as Xmas present....but it is only a download???
