Dunc taught at my shop and I literally have boxes of his flies as he did all the commercial tying for us in the 90s...fished Tuckaway with him a few says too...character..
Just found your video with Warren's flies, I have a couple of them sitting on my bookcase, the Undertaker and The Provincial Fly, not to mention the Rod that he built for me. Warren was a friend who left us far too early. It was nice to think about him again. David aka Superdad4sure
David, thanks for sharing that. I only chatted with Warren a few times, but you could tell he was a great person. I keep reading about how many angler's lives he touched over the years and love to hear the stories. I consider myself quite lucky to have this collection. All the best, thanks.
I don't think this one had a name with it, and I wasn't able to track it down in any of the pattern books I have. It might have been a freestyle pattern. Cheers
Hi Darren, quite a collection you have there. I didn't know "Dunc" had passed on. He absolutely was a precise tyer. How do you feel about John Shewey? I really like his work too. Cheers 👍😎☕
Joe Duca it was a sad day when Dunc passed away. I was lucky enough to get a small collection of his work. I have a couple of John's book and have a lot of respect for his work. His books are top notch. Warren Duncan had some of his flies published in the Art of Angling Journal back in the day. The last time I talked to him he was planning on submitting more, but sadly never had the time. 🍺
Piscator Flies Hi, I didn't what to break the rules on the July give away so an additional comment is here. Name for that pet muddler, hmm... You cut the audio at the end so I don't know what you said but you looked like your "homie" (I'd say paisa' if you were Italian) Mike Myers as Dr. Evil petting his white Persian cat Mr Bigglesworth. Myers is one of my favorite comedians from the 70's & 80's era of SNL. You even raise an eyebrow when you talk, all that was lacking was a little finger to the corner of the mouth. You and Myers have a lot in common, you must enjoy him too? Equally funny is the Sphynx cat's actual name that was used for the hairless Mr Bigglesworth after Dr Evil's failed escape... Mr Ted NudeGent. So maybe a name along those lines and incorporating Don Ordes in it, the tyer. If you want a good laugh go to Wikipedia for the deleted dialogue and history of the characters, you see I'm also a fan of the Sean Connery Bond movies. As for Shewey, your reply was cut off after "have a lot of... Don't know what you have, flies, respect, what? I have his Steelhead Flies and Classic Steelhead Flies. I tried to get his Spey fly book but it's out of print. He has a chapter on them in one of the books but I can't follow the steps. I can't remember where I saw a clear sbs but it was on how to tie in the wings. Can't refer to it cuz don't know where it is. I've never tyed let alone fish them but I understand they swim true in the current. Well take Darren, nice presentation, see you on the next post. 👍😎☕
Piscator Flies sorry Darren, this tablet has been buffering all morning. I got some of your reply on Shewey in my notifications and even less in the comments... until now! It's all there... Must be lvan and his dancing 🐻 bears. Sorry. Thanks again.

The black ghost and mickey finn are very well known trout streamers. Interesting that they started out as atlantic salmon patterns

Piscator Flies So how about my Mike Myers / Dr Evil inspired name for your pet Ordes muddler? lol that was funny when you pet it. 👍😁
