Rest in Paradise Warren. I bet you are enjoying every sandwich. ❤️🙏❤️
Gone but definitely not forgotten. 🤘✊
Rock and Roll Hall of fame now!
what a performer! we miss him!
Nobody plays gigs like this our days. They called it Rock and roll!!
this dude ...is my new idol ! live hard ! live fast ! when its your time...its your time.
NO PRIDE IN SUFFERING BEFORE YOU DIE. WARREN SUFFERED EVEN ON INDUSTRIAL AMOUNTS OF MORPHINE.
When it’s your time, invite your amazing friends over and make a killer album. Drop the mic and sleep for eternity
Still burns brightly 💥
Wow!
Gold....
I don't get all of his songs yet, but I loved him instantly. You must know what I mean.
Oh how I would have loved to be in that audience! When will Warren Zevon be inducted to the R&R Hall of Fame?
Not soon enough that’s for damn sure!
I don't care about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
a force of one
Saw him at Stockton State. Couldn't believe how great ha was.
the memories of my 1st Zevon show. what a Gr8 birthday present......
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Miss the Capital.
Never. He's too far above the comprehension of the folks who vote on HoF nominees. Didn't make them enough $$$
Love you, Warren. Your music saved my ass more than once.
Rock on!
True coked up greatness. SPECTACULAR
😂 everyone was Coked up in those days
I was fun, expensive and went by in a blur. Wouldn’t trade it for anything
Always Cool To listen to.
"I'll live to be a hundred, and go down in infamy."
Powerful good
great
V. Nice Mousic
Nice early Hamer.
Biggest regrets, not seeing Zevon or Talking Heads live.
I saw Zevon live in Pittsburgh in the early '90s, I think, at a very small club, sat like 200 or so - I can't even tell you where it was, my college roommate got the tickets. She still lived in Pittsburgh, I was in grad school by that time in another state. Anyway, we were at a table right in front of the stage (we had also seen the Ramones and R.E.M. when we were in college in small venues, but Zevon, that was the smallest venue ever). You'd never know he was the rock star he was from that intimate a setting. His piano was almost at the edge of the stage. That was a cool night.
@@historianKelly Sounds like you had a wonderful experience. I'm envious 🙂
Interesting to see this backing band. No back up can beat the band he had in new jersey in 82 but these guys are alright
same bassist
So I guess he went from performing his original third verse, to performing no third verse, to performing the third verse Linda Ronstadt used (Who wrote it for her? If not Warren, whoever it is should have received co-writing credit on Warren's two live albums, on whicch he sings it).
Badass
Poor Poor Pitiful Me
Warren Zevon
I lay my head on the railroad tracks
I'm waiting for the double E
The railroad don't run no more
Poor, poor, pitiful me
Poor, poor, pitiful me
Poor, poor, pitiful me
These young girls won't let me be
Lord have mercy on me, woe is me
Well, I met a girl in West Hollywood
Well, I ain't naming names
But she really worked me over good
She was just like Jesse James
She really worked me over good
She was a credit to her gender
She put me through some changes Lord
Sort of like a waring blender
Poor, poor, pitiful me
Poor, poor, pitiful me
These young girls won't let me be
Lord have mercy on me, woe is me
Woo!
Poor, poor, pitiful me
Poor, poor, pitiful me
These girls won't let me be
Lord have mercy on me, woe is me
I met a girl at the rainbow bar
She asked me if I'd beat her
She took me back to the hired house
I don't wanna talk about it (hut!)
Poor, poor, pitiful me (woo)
Poor, poor, pitiful me
(Hut! Never mind)
Poor, poor, pitiful me
(Woo-hoo, yeah)
Poor, poor, pitiful me
Songwriters: Warren Zevon.
Why didn't they invest in color video at the Capitol?
I think that color was available at the Capitol at the time of this concert but Mr. Zevon wanted it to be in black and white

The old theatre gone for many years now, an auto parts store and parking lot that smell of cabbage and burnt cooking oil, what a shame...
ジョー・ウォルシュやジェフ・バクスターとか混ぜたかった。
David Landau is (Jon Landau's brother) was the perfect guitarist for that band. Hey who does Geoge say to get up and dance like, Perry Leiter? He must be the guy in the front row dancing with the girl. He seems to point to them.
Lyrics 🎵💜🎶💜🎵
Well I lay my head on the railroad track
Waiting on the Double E
But the train don't run by here no more
Poor poor pitiful me
Poor poor pitiful me
Poor poor pitiful me
Oh, these boys won't let me be
Lord have mercy on me
Woe, woe is me
Well I met a man out in Hollywood
Now, I ain't naming names
Well he really worked me over good
Just like Jesse James
Yes he really worked me over good
He was a credit to his gender
Put me through some changes, Lord
Sort of like a Waring blender
Poor poor pitiful me
Poor poor pitiful me
Oh these boys won't let me be
Lord, have mercy on me
Woe, woe is me
Well, I met a boy in the Vieux Carres
Down in Yokohama
He picked me up and he threw me down
He said "Please don't hurt me Mama"
Poor poor pitiful me
Poor poor pitiful me
Oh these boys won't let me be
Lord have mercy on me
Woe woe is me
Poor poor poor me
Poor poor pitiful me
Poor poor poor me
Poor poor pitiful me
Poor poor poor me
Poor poor pitiful me
Thanks, but these are Linda Ronstadt's slightly altered lyrics. She inserts "these boys" where Warren writes and sings "these young girls," and changes all "she's" to "hes."
Did you ever listen to the original version? Or, try searching for the original lyrics? Also, in THIS version - as with many concerts - Zevon didn't even sing the 3rd verse that he recorded in the original recording, either. It's his song, so that's his prerogative. Ronstadt, whose lyrics you posted, did make this a hit for the 2nd time, however, you should try listening to a song before posting lyrics. Those aren't Zevon's lyrics.
Look at the crowd. Warrens going full speed and these fools are in their seats. Oof.
Maybe they're mesmerized. 😉
It’s the singing. He’s a great writer and arranger
@@tylerkessler4021 Indeed. That's why they're mesmerized. 😘
@@barbaraarnzen5181 I’m saying the singing is not great. Even out of key and off rhythm
@@barbaraarnzen5181 if I was in the crowd I’d be disappointed or left. Sad to see artists go up there like that
audience sounds slightly scared
