This is astonishing. I see now that I will have to go and watch every video on this channel and learn as much as I can. Please keep up the amazing work.
I'll admit it, I'm a little sad I missed the premiere. Definitely going to watch it in a little while, my sister watched so I'll get her to give a synopsis. Thanks for all you do William, God Bless Brother 🙏✝️🙌❤
In my 10 years as an Evangelical Protestant, I often heard the preaching of Luther's analogy likening humans to a pile of manure covered in snow, which was embraced and viewed positively by the community.
@PatristicPillars @William Albrecht Paz y bien hermano sorry different topic from this great teaching. Over in Spanish Apologists amongst protestants there going crazy on the topic of the Theotokos would love for you to have a dialogue with @Jonathan Ramos professor and protestant who defends Mama Maria please. Thanks GOD Bless your family and you. Robert from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Lately ive realized theres a trend in protestantism….. they simply ignore passages that support catholic doctrine. I cant count how many Protestant friends and family have asked me “wheres that in the bible?” When i show them, theyre unimpressed but don’t seem to have an answer for what scripture means in that passage. Recently i had used this same exact passage when asked where purgatory was in the bible. He said he didnt think Corinthians was saying that but admitted he had no clue what paul was talking about. I said “well if i have a logical interpretation and you dont for this passage, doesnt that show some credit for doctrine of purgatory? He said not until he figured out what else it could mean. I said well you cant fault me for holding to it. Good luck finding an interpretation until then purgatory is biblical. He said well where’s confession in scripture? I showed him the passages in James and John. Once again, he had no interpretation and got mad at me. I told him Catholics can do this all day…. He said well why dont protestant pastors see this? The only thing i can say is they dont want to brother.
I face the same exact thing. I show them passages that are as clear as day, yet they really put in a lot of effort to distort and reinterpret. It’s spiritual blindness and stubbornness. May God open their hearts and minds.
@@Mkvine Amen! Keep up the good work, eventually the concept that we are not a biblical church will go away. Level 1 anticatholic apologetics is on it’s last leg. Sadly there’s still tons of christians that hold to those old anticatholic tropes and it’s just our job now to dispel them
Luther himself believed in purgatory as admitted as such in the Leipzig debate, he writes: “I, who firmly believe, nay more dare to say that there is a Purgatory, I am easily persuaded that mention is made of it in Scripture.”
Sola fides as taught by Luther always comes across to me as gnosticism. Ok, so you hear the gospel and maybe you even come to believe it, but regeneration happens with baptism, meaning that it's the obedience to what you believe what initiates a person onto sanctification, it's not a mere formality. If salvation did come merely from hearing, it could be reduced to the mind receiving a certain amount of data and the processing power necessary to assent to it, which is what gnostic cults pursued: hidden knowledge and improved minds to gain "more" from it. But of course, the Gospel is the opposite, we're commissioned to evangelize and Grace is a theological virtue so no amount of intellect mediates it.
I wonder whether or not a Prot could argue that the whole point of being saved as thru fire is that the person who was saved that way didnt touch the fire too much. If he were entirely in contact with fire he would have died, so the point of the analogy Paul is using is that some peoples salvation will be akin to escaping a burning building unharmed. Which isnt a direct analogy to purgatory, rather the opposite. What do you think?

God bless you, William, and your family. Pray you endure and finish the race. Love you

Early Luther, yes. Later Luther denies it explictly.

But he answered and said unto them, "Why do you also transgress *the commandment of God* by your TRADITION?”
{Matthew 15:3}
What are you suggesting by this verse?
