I love how "imperfect" some of the character's movements are. Like, the characters with large, heavy weapons actually have a hard time swinging them around and controlling their momentum. Like Ben hopping on one foot to keep his balance, or Corin actually loosing her balance in one of her attacks. Little detailed animations like that brings a character to life.
Their standing idle have so much personality that fits them well. I wished Genshin characters had those instead of everyone having the same standing pose.
you gotta understand this game is after genshin they are going to have a bigger budget. especially since they didnt know it was going be so successful globally

it's an open world.. obviously they need to minimize the model usage as much as possible.. genshin is about to enter sumeru and some ppl already aren't able to play the game anymore due to lack of storage
genshin built with mobile in mind...if they focused for PC/console...they can make it more detailed and charming...but that wont sell becus japan/china really2 like game where you can play anywhere hence nintendo is superpower in the market eventho their library is not full of high end game.
Attack animations not only transition to combo attacks, but also to idle. Watch Nekomiya or Anby and note that they have different sheathing animations for each attack.
I feel like no one is giving enough praise for how insane these animations are. Like I cant articulate it but it's very different than anything else in games. The closest animation style that feels this fluid and exaggerated is probably Arcsys with guilty gear but those games use the 2d presentation to exaggerate and warp or even break the models. They're not doing that here.
I don’t think it’s possible to give enough praise. There’s such an incredible amount of detail, everything flows so seamlessly, movements are bouncy, have momentum, and are sometimes amazingly showy, etc etc.
Koleda and Von are probably my favorite. Everyone else I just really like in general especially nekomata and miyabi but von and koleda? Definitely my top characters
Soldier 11 is so cool. Those blazing effects is just nice. i love their weapon designs and how some of them literally show what kind of fighter they are based on their appearance, see which one prefers speed and which one prefer power as their combat style. Like Koleda, her weapon, and fighting style looks powerful.

How long would it have taken to get the animations this perfect? Even just Aokaku’s sign(?) folding up then hitting the floor (0:22) before going back to idle instead of just clipping through or blandly transitioning is already a lot of detail.
