Aputure MC 👊🤘 I own two of those and I love them! I never thought I’d use the magnets but it came in handy several times. Even on surfaces which aren’t magnetic, Tesa Power stripes and little magnets do the job for temporary light-attachment 😁
So here's my issue with the MC-4 kit. If I buy 4 individual lights then I spend $400.00 and get 4 Diffusers, 4 USB Type C charging cables, and 4 individual carrying cases. If I get the MC-4 kit then I spent $500.00, get 4 lights and a charging case plus a Coldshoe ball head. However I only get 2 diffusers, 1 USB C charging cable and power cables for the case. It seems to me that I am paying an extra $100.00 for the admittedly cool charging case, but it doesn't hold the accessories and lacks all the options the individual lights give me. This is why I am getting 4 individual MC's vs the MC-4 kit.
Yeah if you don't need the charging case... then thats a great choice! If i had to guess, I would say the charging/carrying case would probably sell for over $100 on its own (I don't know that they do sell it that way) so that would be where the "savings" were if you went that way but, like I said, if you don't need it... sounds like you've got the system figured out! And on the moment site, the lights are only $90 right now!
Just picked up the MC pack used, but with only 2 because the original owner sold 2 of the MCs previously. Will wait around for a nice sale to pick up two more to complete the kit.
I've been using a single Aputure MC ... great little light. But I just ordered the Falcon Eyes F7 Fold and I'm really looking forward to seeing what I can do with it! Great review as always!
I’ve got the FalconEyes F7. Love it. I’m considering getting either two more single F7’s or the Fold version as a travel key light. Be interesting to see what the fold with the diffuser would look like?
I hope Falcon Eyes upgrades the single version. I have the current one, and it is a great light, but that color picker, like the MC is the coolest feature around on these lights.
Good review, but... magnets only attract to iron, nickel or cobalt, which also means most alloys that include these. However they are not attracted to "any kind of metal surface".
When I was looking at buying this kind of light I got the Weeylite RB08P - The light is good, but doesn't have all the functionality as the Apature MC. I'll be getting that 4 pack soon :)
Hello Dunna! I hope you can answer my question. Everyone has a very high opinion about the Aputure MC, but are those strong magnets safe? I mean, If I accidently put it next to my phone or camera or microphone, can those magnets damage or ruin my electronics? Thank you in advance!
Cannot find the Falcon for purchase here in Greece, so ordered the Aputure MC. Insane that it is 79 dollars on BH photo that you link to, and 119 euro here.. which is 140 dollars. So almost twice as much. It's always like this though, anything in Europe always cost so much more than in the US. Bought it for photography though.. and seeing the 1100 lux vs. 11000 on the falcon makes me wonder if it will be completely useless or not. We'll see in a few days.
They definitely get pretty hot. I haven't gotten them to fully overhead because the battery dies first. I can still grab it to plug it in at the very end but I wouldn't hold onto it too long.
What up Dunna?? So I own 3 Apurture MC lights, so I only need to buy one more and buy the charging case separately and I will be laughing.... I love the Apurture MC lights...when they first came out and were first shown here by different people on RUclips I ordered one and I loved it so much I ended up ordering 2 more, so to order 1 more and the charging case just makes sense. I love the new Falcom Eye F7 Fold, and to have that much light is insane, I may have to eventually invest in 2 of them.... But I got two videos up on my channel on here finally, but they may not be staying up very long as I am planning on moving back to Hamilton from London VERY soon and will be creating all new content there which will be replacing the two videos on my channel now.
@@dunnadidit Hell yeah man!! LOL I've slowly been piecing together my own in house and on location studio set ups. I've had enough of London and the people here, so I am moving back home to my closest friends of over 20 years and family, back to Hamilton. It will open up more doors and opportunities for me in both photo and video.
Man I wanted them but they were so hard to find. So i got a Pixel G1. It works good but I really wanted the aputure lights. Maybe in the future. This is a great video. Always showing cool options. Thx Dunna.
Hey! Thanks for the informative video! Just got the Aputure MC and did a review on my channel (shameless plug), but how do you think the falcon would do regarding product photography? I’m thinking of the space between the lights, as you might see that dark spot where the hinges are. Any thoughts? Cheers!
Can I use this led light during 50 minutes at maximum intensity (for a Zoom Clouds Meeting)? All my actual led light turn off after 27 minutes (Sony / Manfrotto / Iblizr II and my Godox AD-200 Pro)...
How do you know if the aputure MC-4 is being charged wirelessly? When I place them in the case without the plug, I don’t get any lights to indicate charging like I do when the case is plugged in. Can you help?
To me it feels that F7 Fold is almost there, maybe there next iteration will truly be awesome (potentially have the option to seperate the lights if needed). In comparison it seems like you are getting a better deal if you compare the aputure mc travel kit vs two F7 folds. Nevertheless both lights look AWESOME and will defo make work on the go much more convenient and creative. Also, did you guys announce the winner of the competition already, really want to check out other peoples entries ^^
Interesting, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I don't think they're overpriced for the amount of technology, r&d, and functionality that you're getting. If they were just simple "on & off" lights, then that would be a different story. But I think it takes a lot to make lights with this quality output let alone all the cool RGB and bluetooth capabilities.
If you felt the F7 fold in your hand you would understand. Super high quality construction and top notch functionality. Its worth every penny, but its a specialty light. Most folks don't really need it.
Why don’t these kinds of comparison reviews take into account the massive price differentials when there is one? The F7 Fold at eleven THOUSAND lux is ten times brighter than the Aputure MC’s eleven HUNDRED and costs half of what the MC Travel Kit does. So for $500, you could have ONE Aputure MC Travel Kit with four MC lights, or TWO F7 Folds with the effective brightness of TEN Aputure MC Lights. Can someone check my math and see if I missed something?

The 4 light kit from Aputure def has my interest.
I found some adhesive metal plates on amazon too, so I just slap those wherever I want and I can stick the MC's anywhere.
@@dunnadidit another great alternative is gaffers tape and a metal plate! Just tape the plates to the wall its genius

I bought an Aputure MC a while ago and really like it. It works great as an accent light. The app integration is what sold me on it.
Great video! picking up mc kit today!
Great video Donna! Mine should be coming in somewhere this week. Can’t wait to start shooting (night) portraits with this addition
Nice!!
The MC travel kit is so smart and efficient. My goal is to get a set and use them on stage as little pot lights underneath all of our pedalboards!
Thats a great idea!!

I would love to have a single F7 with all the BT features of the fold. I guess I could just remove the hinge haha.
Dunna Did It I didn’t know until your video about the Bluetooth and colour picker features. Mmmm I wonder if you could remove the hinge 🤔
Thanks for the quick unboxing!
Haha glad you liked that!
In my eyes, functionality and versatility is more important than bigger equals better
I agree!
🎶This little light of mine. I'm gonna let it shine....🎶
Let it shine! Let it shine! Let it shine!!
Both, I want both but budget considerations? 2 MC’s is my setup
Thank you. What else can you charge in that case?
Big fan of both these lights. Wish I could find a legit reason to grab the 4 light kit.
exactly what i was looking for, thanks
Great Video. Most Def Gonna Buy 4 Pack!
Good choice!

Off subject, will you be making some content regarding the A7S III? Peace.
As soon as I get my hands on one I definitely will!
I am considering to buy one of those. What if I have two option between aputure MC and falcon eye F7? Which one would you recommend? Thanks 😊
That’s a tough call. I think if I had to choose, I’d go with the aputure MC for the smaller size
@@dunnadidit Thanks and I really appreciate you
I know aputure mc 4 light kit is worth for vlogging. Question, is Falconeyes F7 Fold worth for vlogging too?
Very cool 😎
Thanks dude!
wow, this is amazing
can I use this four kit as a full key light for RUclips videos?
I haven’t heard of a good way to connect them all together yet but it might exist!
Would the MC’s be sufficient enough to light a subject while filming?
Hmmm, that’s a tough one. I think if you were in a completely black room... no. If the MC was just to give a slash of extra light on a face, then yes.
Dunna Did It thank you very much for your fast response
Can the Aputure MC lights be mounted on a light stand, tripod, monopod, or cold shoe?
They have a 1/4” 20 thread on them, so you can make all of those things happen!
@@dunnadidit Thanks!

I really like it! I've never had an issue with the space between lights but you could always use that showercap diffuser to make it one big source.
Dunna Did It Was thinking of the shower cap as well ;) Again, thanks for the great comparison and info :)

Yup! And you can plug it into a usb c power source to keep it going if you want.
are the diffusers for the aputure still included in the box when you purchase the charging kit??
ok just saw the video. it comes with 2 diffusers but not 4. kind of a bummer
good video!
Great video, thanks Dunna! 😎
Hey dunna there is a second quarter inch thread 8:26 in the middle when you fold it
Yeah I realized that after! That’s cool for if you want to fold it like I did when I had the “2 color background”
How do you know if the aputure MC-4 is being charged wirelessly? When I place them in the case without the plug, I don’t get any lights to indicate charging like I do when the case is plugged in. Can you help?
The case contains no batteries, it has to be plugged in to charge
can you compare it to the NanLite Pavo Tube 6C
Thanks for the suggestion!

can u connect the 4 and turn them into one big light?
They should make the falconeyes seperatable i mean since they are treated as two different lights anyways
Can anyone explain the difference between the Aputure MC and the AL-MC?
It’s the same light. The AL gets dropped a lot to make it easier to say.
