- This is the Top Thrill Dragster roller coaster at Cedar Point, located in Sandusky, Ohio (U.S.A.)
Zero to 120 MPH in 3.8 seconds. A few seconds later, you're 420 feet in the air. In the race for pure adrenaline thrills, there is one winner: Top Thrill Dragster. Nothing else compares to this 10,000 horsepower shot into the sky. From a standing start you're launched forward, then straight up, then straight down and back to the finish line. The ride may be over in 17 seconds, but it'll stay with you forever.

I go to CedarPoint at least 45 times a year and Millennium and ragster are by far my favorite roller coasters ever

I've only had the pleasure of riding this once. I've been to CP numerous times since this was first built. Every time I'm there the damn thing isn't running for whatever reason. It only runs a few times a day so the wait in line is outrageous. Fun though, the one time I rode it was a blast.

I was only afraid of my first coaster as a kid (corkscrew) when I got off i was hooked, since then wasn't afraid of anything...till they announced this. First thing was the launch 120 mph in 4 seconds???? Mind boggling, next the height. So i get in really scared looking up at the 420 ft top hat, roll out of the station, countdown, takeoff cant keep my eyes open, started heading up, felt a strong twist to the right then got yo to the top and thats when the fear hit,on the way down couldn't see the track, but once we got down excitement and adrenaline had kicked in, ride over. My uncle cousin and little brother got back in line, I didn't Why was afraid of the height. Lateron though that night, I rode it again prayed to God "Help me get over the fear of this ride, he did after this every time I went I rode it. I give God glory for helping me get over the fear of this ride.

Rode this twice in one day in August, rode it in the front at nighttime once. Waited 4 hours. Worth it. :3
My wife is 68 years old,but she stood in line for two hours to ride this.
I only been here once and that was last year but Cedar Point is such an awesome place! So many awesome rides in one place! While most amusement parks may only have one or two top tier coasters Cedar Point has several! The other parks that are like CP being Great Adventure and Magic Mountain both which id like to go to one day!
I'm going to Cedar Point for the first time soon and i love roller coasters and I'm definitely riding Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, Maverick, GateKeeper and Magnum XL-200

I have been to Cedar Point and man I hope that I can go on one in the future but a 420 ft coaster is insane and 0-120 mph in 4 seconds that is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EdEddnEddyonline1 It's really not all that bad. The launch is the best part. I also love the view from up top even though it is short lived. I swore that I would NEVER ride it. After braving MF, I braved TTD and I loved it.
totally worth it. I hope one day that mine goes backwards and we get to ride it again lol

I wish I wasn't so scared of this. I'm gonna man up and go on it though. The only thing I'm afraid of is the feeling you get while going downhill. Don't really know how I'll act when I go this fast so quickly. Wish me luck..../:

ive been there twice and passed this up both times because i chickened out(lol) im going this july though and im getting the Fast lane plus ticket so i dont have to wait in line and im going to ride it! i cant wait!

I decided to watch this to figure out how fast is Danny Phantom really flying in the show.
It's a good ride
You CAN do it. If you can do 300, you can do 400. It's so fast, you don't even notice the height, you're not up there long enough. First time you ride it you won't even know what the hell just happened ;) You have to ride it a couple times to fully appreciate it.

Idk, I think it might have been some troubles with it. It might have done so the thing rollbacked or something idk just trying to come up with a answer :p
They wanted to add a fifth row so they took out the thing on the back

It was a top fuel starter spoiler and wheels, which was part of the theming. The removed it later on so they could add 2 extra seats in the back.
it was creating the wrong type of drag as well was putting too much stress on the cars.

Yes I have, once and one time only back in 2011. If it weren't for my friends forcing me on, I wouldn't have got on lol but I did & it was actually fun. But people in hell will get ice water before I get on that thing again, as long as I can say I rode it ONCE in life lol.
I understand what your saying the first itme i rode it, i was terrified and i like coasters i had to pray and ask Jesus to help me get over the fear of that ride, and he did now i like the ride. but who knows maybe you'll ride it again someday. What is it aobut it that you didn't like about it????

Too bad that other rides already outspeeded top thrill dragster especially kingda ka..... i wonder if they'll ever be a ride made taller than kingda ka and if it is than probably will be intamin since they make one of the best acceleration coasters
kingda ka may be taller and faster but you hear about top thrill dragster more than you do kingda ka. dragster will always be known for the first coaster to break 400 ft. and to go faster than 100mph.
its funny too six flags went to intamin saying we want this ride, only we want it to be taller and faster than top thrill dragster. pathetic if you ask me
Danny Chung I don't know when it's set to open, but there is a coaster being built, in Orlando, that will break the 500 foot barrier. I believe there is a Computer Generated version of what the coaster will be like.

Chest belts aren't needed as you don't go upside down, plus they hurt on these kinds of rides.
