- So as most of you know, my dog, Memphis, had knee surgery 1 year ago. My dog had the TTA surgery to repair her torn CCL. And I know many have asked, what did we do to help our dog recovery after her knee surgery. In this video, we will go over my dogs physical therapy after surgery, and some of the supplements we put her on as well! This dog got laser therapy, she got puppy massages, she did a lot of balance exercises, and she got to go on a water treadmill!

I love when they stretch their back leg out like that. Memphis you are so so pretty. It is still pitiful to see her limping when injured. So cute on the big bed with her paws in the air. She is so lovable. Her legs looked so good doing the agility and water therapy, nice and strong. 6 mile hike, truly amazing. Those girls at the Center are so loving, petting and massaging her thru her sessions. So glad she had this level of care and treatment. You are a beautiful princess, sweet Memphis. My dog, Zoey just had acl surgery, Tuesday just like Memphis had a year ago. She doing good so far, have 6 weeks left to go to make sure she takes it easy, like Memphis had to in her time to heal. In watching how far Memphis has come give me good hope that Zoey will do as well, thank you for sharing her progress with others and me.
Learn everything you can! If you can't get your dog to a trained physical therapist, you vet can hopefully teach you some at home exercises. Getting them moving is the most important. We did 5 minute walks starting at 2 weeks. And we would do them 3 times a day.

Whoa it's been a year? My goodness does the time fly! I'm so glad she recovered so well. I remember you crying because you were convinced she'd never be able to pull a sled again. Well, maybe not the same way as before but I'm glad she's still the happy dog she always is. Well done Memphis!
I have seen dogs go through this that still can't walk properly. I had no idea what to expect, and It was really scary to think that Memphis's life would be so different, but like I said, doing the research helped me out so much! Learning that we could do so much physical therapy for her really made a difference!
Memphis went from hoppeling around with a chicken leg to walking with her little lady swing again.

Memphis is doing well try glucosamine it really helps dogs and humans I’ve taken it for a year and my golden was on it helped him so much , honestly you should only shave dogs with hair not fur , the glucosamine gave my golden another year and a half he lived to be 13 and a half and yes Memphis is doing amazing

Will Memphis be able to pull the sled this winter? She’s doing so well.
I think she will be able to do a few short runs this winter. Nothing crazy, like 1/2 mile or so.
my doges passed away a few weeks a ago they were both sister and Kelpy's one was brown{Ella} and the other was black{Reba} Ella bad cancer on her tummy and she passed away and reba passed away as-well we don't know why I think it was because if deviation and sadness from Ella passing away they both passed away in the same spot when Ella passed reba was so sad you could see the tears in her eyes welt her sleep on the bed and the next day she passed away on the couch were Ella did ,and. another dog before with was there brother hid name was Oscar he passed away from cancer aswell he was so sweet he would stand next to me to protect me he was so sweet .Nothing has been the same without them😢😭❤🧡💛💚💙💜💗💜🐾🐶🐕🦮

Jamie has taken Sherpa to water treadmill therapy. I think this a great idea for dogs.
Limited movement for a Husky - seems like total paradox. I absolutely cannot imagine that happening to one of the sleddogs I worked with. That would be the worst for them.
You forgot to talk about the knee brace you got to help protect her good knee.
With our husky after some medical procedures, where she needed to be shaved in parts of her body, her hair wouldn’t grow back until we figured out that she was low on zinc. We added a daily zinc supplement to her diet. Her coat came back beautifully. I think low, zinc can also affect the liver.
Even Memphis is the oldest and her treatments very important. A vlog without kirra and alinor is missed something even for couple of minutes

Where the other dogs jellous of all the attention that Memphis was getting?
I'm about to go through this with my girl. I've watched your whole journey with her so I'll be doing similar. Absolutely breaks my heart seeing my girl sore and not walking properly. :( Had x-rays on Friday to confirm its her cruciate ligament. Will be booking surgery in as soon as we have funds. For now she's on strict crate rest and medication.
If you can get a brace until surgery, that can also help. Care Credit might be an option as well, they do offer pretty decent plans for surgeries like this. One day a time! You got this!
should i give my older dog suplements for their joints?

__ How much are bed and breakfast rooms to rent for an overnight stay in Traverse City? Cheaper than $300 a night? You might want to check that out. Or make a friend over there, that would let you stay overnight alot cheap in an emergency situation. Just a thought.
Most airbnbs and bed and breakfast require more then a 1 night stay, and they don't let you just roll in at 3am like a hotel.
