- Surprising my dogs with a huge gift! This is something I have been wanting to invest in for my dogs for a long time. You all know, we have Siberian Huskies, and if you have watched for a while, then you know, Siberian Huskies are very active dogs. I could walk these dogs 10 miles a day, and it's not enough! So we need to find ways to keep our dogs happy and active, and this slatmill is going to work great for that! This is basically a non-motorized treadmill for dogs. This particular dog treadmill is from Firepaw and is called the FIrepaw Phoenix Dog Treadmill Slatmill. You may have seen these on We Run Dogs, as I think theirs are also Firepaw brand. And yes, I know not everyone can afford one of these for their dogs, and it even took me a bit to save up for one, but I am so glad I did!

it's amazing how confident Eleanor has become, also Memphis is so smart she just knew immediately. Of course Kira would only do it for the high quality treats, such a diva 😂
Great shot of Eleanor on the Firepaw the first time and Kira and Memphis lying down and ignoring her. I noticed the second time Eleanor was on the treadmill, Kira was watching closely. Nice to see Eleanor being the teacher this time.
What a wonderful surprise! I need to start saving for one for my dogs. I know I don't give them the exercise they crave and this will be perfect for days of inclimate weather. So glad I know about these now. Thank You Jess! Eleanor is so happy.
It's an amazing tool! They are pricey, but like I said, 100% worth it. I LOVE that they can control their own speed!
Fire paws are definitely on the cheaper end of quality slat mills. I did all the comparisons and they where thousands dollars cheaper.

Hi Jess and Jamie, I taught my four labs to walk on a motorized treadmill, we use it in the winter mainly, summer time they walk I ride in a scooter because I have a physical disability my dogs also seem to enjoy walking on the treadmill. Keep up the good work.
I am not a fan of the motorized ones. I don't like that they can't control their own gate and speed with it. That was always the issue I had. I LOVE that it works for you, but I have a lot of reasons I don't use them with my dogs.

I would like to see the dogs use this on a regular basis. Especially when you don't have time to take them on a really long walk for one reason or another. Might help with Eleanor's zoomies.
When you panned Memphis and Kira on the couch when you introduced the slap mill there reaction seemed like what in the world did Mom get us into now. Like all we want to do is take a nap….

This is one cool tool to use! Storm, my Husky would love this! His brother, Mario, could definitely benefit from this (if you know about Shetland Sheepdogs, they are always trying to sneak food!) Mario gets 2 walks a day & still has energy. 😁

It's a good idea. If you had two side by side would Keria do better on the treadmill next to her sister Eleanor? Or at an angle slightly facing each other for maximum heightened effects of exciting each other up? Would apple 🍎🍏 treats help? Just a thought.

Hi Jess, was just wondering if this would work with a walker hound who is blind and misses going for off leash runs in the park. We go for runs with both hounds with the bike but like you guys her in Ontario it’s hard to do so in certain weather.
