Hey Shelf, a delightful trip with bands I’ve never heard of, and for some reason can’t be found in the bins over here. That Ted Heath is on Phase 4 which was a bit of an audiophile label on Decca. Cheers.

Hi Jack. Some of these LPs take some tracking down on this side of the pond, too. You know how it is; sometimes you're just in the right place at the right time. Phase 4 an audiophile imprint? I can well believe it. The Ted Heath LP sounds amazing.

It's been tough for me to keep up with videos lately but I'm glad I circled back to this one. It looks like you've found some gems. That Jerry Moore sounds like it is a real treasure. I now have two bands named Kathago to check out although I think the German band will be more my speed. I agree that artwork for Kathago is stunning. Definitely will check it out. This was a nice batch of somewhat obscure records. Fantastic stuff!

Thanks for the kind words. With your love of Prog and Krautrock, I suspect the German Karthago will be more your bag, but they're both a bit special.

Great picks Shelf Stacker, we have similar tastes... always enjoy your videos. I completely agree with you on the Soup album. The reviews in the Acid Archives book are slightly better, but they praise the first album more. I don't get it, it's a killer lp... for something along similar rural psych vibes look for the band called "Morning" and their self titled album from 1970 on Liberty (only had a US pressing though).

Thanks, John. You're right about the Morning album. It definitely has a similar vibe. I have that one, and the follow-up 'Struck Like Silver,' which is also worth checking out. I think I could probably write a book about all the records that are critically derided, but that I love.

@@MrShelf-Stacker I need to pick up a copy of that 2nd Morning LP, thanks for the tip. Glad you dig that first one!

Bit 'A Sweet is top 5 U.S. psych pop for me. Hits all the right moves for what I look for in that style. I do agree about "A Second Time", is a bit long winded but interesting sound effects & writing throughout. Funny you mentioned "Fallen Tree" by Ahora Mazda; I was just listening to that track this morning. Love the LP. Great stack of records here.

Ahora Mazda's LP is high on my wishlist now. Probably have to settle for a reissue, seeing as originals are so expensive.

Again awesome finds. The Hungarian Karthago were often confused with the German Karthago, as both bands released an album with Elephant(Mammut) on the cover. The Germans 1974 Rock'n'Roll Testament
and the Hungarians released the album you found in 1981. Musically, though, the Germans were Krautrock. Their albums are worth discovering, though.

Yeah, I must admit I've seen the Rock n Roll Testament LP for sale before and not been sure which of the two Karthagos was responsible for it. I have Second Step by the Krautrock Karthago and really enjoy it, so I think I need to hear more.

The median is not the average. It is the middle number in a set of data.

You're right of course. Mathematical jargon was never my strong point, but I do know that the median value gives a fair representation of a kind of average cost which isn't skewed by untypically cheap or over-priced sales. It tends to be how I determine the value of my collection.

Some really interesting ones there, plenty to check out. Saxophonist Hans Dulfer from Ritmo Naturel is the father of Candy Dulfer a much more famous saxophonist.
