Man... When she said "I love you" I felt a stab in my heart, when I saw it for the first time I had the same reaction and even knowing it was going to happen I felt it again.
after watching a lot of animes, above 900 and more. This goodbye, with the lights in her eyes gone, was the blatant and brutalst that ive ever see in a anime. The scene where the manager from her sitting on the table with 2 glases and one bottle showed us that he want to take a drink with Ai when she become old enough to drink alcohol. Was even a hit more in our Heart
gonna say something now that makes it hurt so much more yet makes ai so much more inspirational at the same time That stab wound, she was NOT taking it like a champ. She was in agony the whole time, it might go without saying she'd be in pain, but she knew she was dying the moment she was stabbed, and every single action she took from that point on was deliberately calculated top protect her kids from the trauma as much as she possibly could. Despite the debilitating pain she stayed strong long enough to get the attacker to leave, then when she knew her children were safe, she backed into the door and bodied it so ruby wouldn't be able to open it, as she knew she was less emotionally mature than aqua - and didn't want her to see her die. Equally, she clutched aqua against her so he wouldn't be able to watch either, up until she didn't have the strength to keep him at her chest anymore. She was a legend. Every single action was taken for her children and it hurts so, so much that this was the outcome.
Ai may be seen as a reckless girl but she is probably the most careful person. Especially when involved things that are important to her, in this case, her children.
the voice actor is a gem, she actually studied and acted out what it would be like to be stabed and bleeding out, to the littlest details, selling the performance
19:11 "That'd be crazy if she end up dying at the end of the first episode" Akasaka (this manga's writer): I *AM* crazy Love your reaction. It is good to see that anime only people are enjoying it as much as manga readers. It really is a banger of a first episode. They really nailed the prologue. This first episode is also the first chapter of the original manga iirc. As you mentioned, this show is about a deep dive in the entertainment industry. It covers everything from Idol (as they dived pretty deep in the first episode), acting, casting, to more modern such as RUclips, and even online cancel culture. I hope you'll enjoy the rest of the show as I am really excited to see how well the adaption is going to be.
@@user-bk8dq4ys1u I do agree that some of later plot seemed a little weird like Kana's plan change. It seemed a little like a cheap way of "dropping bomb shell" for a sudden pace change. However, I did remember seeing that she has been doing idol stuff for 2 years at that point. For something she never really liked to do to begin with. That's actually pretty impressive. I do think that Akane and Ruby didn't get the importance later in the story based on they originally get hyped up to be. E.g. Akane's ability to think like Ai; Ruby practically being the other MC. With that all being said, things like Aqua's sudden drop (for a brief moment) to revenge is actually quite good and logical to me. In the music show arc, you can see how he wanted to be happy but feels guilty. Already hinting at him want to be out of that obligation to revenge for Ai. Later he found a reason to, so he did not think deep and live a little. All in all, I think Akasaka tried to include a lot of cliffhangers to keep readers interested and find ways to resolve it. Sometimes it turns out bad, but most times they have been good. At least for Oshi no Ko
I've seen The Scene so many times now and still the moment Ai starts lamenting on how she won't get to see her kids grow up never fails to make me tear up at least a bit. Like that is the point in The Scene that breaks me every time. She sounds like she's about to cry herself, but she just keeps smiling and keeping up a brave face for her kids. She never wanted them to feel unloved for even a second of their lives.
I watched this anime the other day, Ai's death hurt me a lot, especially hearing the bright sound of the piano, I didn't expect that such a warm music would usher in such a shocking unfolding, I was deeply stung, there were no tears after watching it, I tossed and turned in bed and couldn't sleep. I was very sad, and this emotion was held in my heart for days. Until today I saw your reaction video to this anime, and when I saw your reaction to that scene, I cried again and again, and the emotions I had accumulated for a long time were released. Thank you for this video, as a college student from China who is studying music, I am really sad to see you mention that someone said a very hurtful comment to you at the beginning of the video, but I want you to know that not everyone is going around venting their dissatisfaction and hurting people like those people, so I wrote this comment to thank you for your efforts and the empathetic experience you bring.
Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment. I'm also glad to hear that you were able to release the emotions you had building up inside. I actually like crying as it is a release for me to get things out that build up inside. Yes, getting negative comment does suck, but I bounce back pretty quick. It definitely helps to have thoughtful comments like yours to lift me up!
@@Roninmann have you watched Onimai yet? It's actually great. It's actually really wholesome. It's a really weird mix of perverted and wholesome. It cracks me up how it does both at the same time.
Here's a (hopefully) positive comment for you... I cried right along with you. I know sometimes artists like us get thought of as nothing but punching bags, but I hope your day goes well when you read this❤
When you realize that ai only got to take of her mask and finally able to express the truth to ruby and aqua right before she died... Just like the mv in idol
Ai is such an interesting character herself, like I literally have a crush on her personality❤. I totally get how ruby and aqua fell for her charm, and i cant imagine the devastation of losing ur favorite idol, human being and on top of that ur mother after having the dream of being her closest person be fulfilled. For Aqua Ai was his biggest joy, in his previous life and in this one, and having to witness her violent death... during the duration of the anime u can see how incredibly traumatized he is 😢
"I feel like this anime is going to slap me in the face with something I don't see coming": The only thing that came to mind there was "Dude, you don't know the HALF of it!"
This is one of the greatest 1st episodes of all time. From the 1300+ anime I have watched so far in the last 22 years, I would put only the first episode of Code Geass and maybe To Your Eternity (which falls slightly as it continues) above this. This anime will be in the top 3 of the year, and probably second only to Nier: Automata (if it continues this year) which is the greatest anime adaptation of the greatest game ever made (an anime that should only be judged after it is completed, because everything is happening just to destroy you at the end, like the game does).
When I read or watch manga, movies, etc. where people die, I become so sad that it becomes difficult to breathe, so I'm scared and can't watch this..I also want to watch Demon Slayer, but because of the same reason I'm too scared to watch it, so I'm enjoying just the summary LOL Therefore, reaction videos like this are really helpful, thank you so much..
Oof that sounds like me when I get panic attacks. So sorry you have to go through that. But, I'm glad my reactions help you find a middle ground so you can find some way of experiencing it!
I don't know if this comment will reach to you but the words [I love you] in japanese is not usually said, not even from parents to their kids. That is because aishiteru is used when you really, really mean it. This fact alone makes this scene even more heartbreaking to me and shows the audience who are [in-the-know] or native speakers just how much Ai loves her kids.
Your comment has reached me. While I did know about this in Japanese culture, I did not think of that aspect when watching this. That must have given it a whole other dimension to Japanese natives. I just told my Japanese mother I loved her the other day. Something I think we’ll do more often.

My one suggestion to you that will thug your heartstrings would be “To your eternity” It made me break down in tears the same as Violet Evergarden.
Oh I love “To Your Eternity”! Though I haven’t seen any of season 2 yet!

YOASOBI's concept is "turning novels into music". Every song has an original novel.
