I have a Game theory for people, and its that lion white may still be alive after we defeat him, theres a series of hints to this around, from side mission characters talking about his followers believing hes still alive, to a lion white bouncer that can be found after beating the game... Its worth noting that this bouncer is by the bridge leading to the temple of ormagoddon, suggesting that if he is alive he fled there... This would make sense as its basically the deamons HQ and hes already told us hes been working with the demons...
@@memeulesrift6008 Ahh, very compelling! I don’t think I’ve ever seen that bouncer character, but I’d believe that theory with this evidence! Very cool. 😎
The Demons would have had a whole entire region to themselves that was cut and the Temple is not even close to being in their homeland. There's a piece of concept art on DF's Tumblr for what is probably Dovi's castle and the bridge leading to it. www.tumblr.com/doublefine/61153857594/you-know-what-time-it-is-its-brutal-time-peter?source=share
Oh absolutely, I think they definitely need to find a way to implement Riggnarok and Succoria as actual charcaters in the next game, even if it isn't a prequel, since these two are quite possibly the most impactful charcaters in the lore that have managed to not appear at all in the actual game besides dialogue (and I believe Riggnarok is depicted in some picture or painting somewhere too right?). But yes, we totally need to see the whole Black tear war for ourselves at some point!
As someone who rarely 100%s games, i've 100%'d this game 5 times. There's so much to love about it. Even managed to snag a concept art book back when they were like $30 on amazon. Now they're like $115 used😅 I do also like that the sea of black tears is basically commentary on emo rock/metal being a literal personified corruption of traditional heavy metal lol
ever since this game came out I have revisited it once every 2 years... and every single time I re-fall in love with it. which makes me yearn for a sequel more and more. Nice theory mate!
I was always the exact same with this game, it's just so niche and unique that randomly you think back on how cool it was and upon replaying it, it just hits again like it always does, it's just an outstanding game! And thank you, I know the theory isn't exactly ground-breaking stuff but it was my love of the game that drove me to actually go forward and make the theory into a video, I just felt obligated after how much I've played it! A sequel to this game just can't come soon enough.
Little thing I enjoyed about Brutal Legend was it's unconventional Isekai story. It straight up mocks the trope of the character wanting to return home. The side missions are a tad repetitive. Something a sequel could add variety. Also, mod support. Jack Black would be down, and Double Fine references Brutal Legend several times in Psychonauts 2. They clearly show interest.
Ophelia was not supposed to be revived they retconned that out at the last minute hence why she doesn't talk at the end of the game. I know this because the game's files have cutscene sketches detailing the original plot of the game including the cut 3rd and 4th acts.
@WitchlyWonders223 Oh seriously? That’s crazy, I never knew that, super cool to learn things like that though! But you know what else? You actually helped me get the “Six Degrees of Schafer” achievement a while back through the Discord! Thanks again, and Hello! 🤘
Fun Fact: If Drowned Ophelia dies near a War Father in PvP the War Father has a chance to say: "Her path was set long ago!" I know it should be taken with a grain of salt I just thought that was interesting.
@@god_likemike2214There's more where that came from :) Ophelia in the campaign is odd because developmentally Drowned Ophelia was made first due to the fact that the PvP RTS Stage Battle gameplay being made and implemented at the start of development and the Campaign snowballed off the idea of tutorialising the gameplay of all 3 Factions. This plan backfired obviously as the Campaign grew bigger and more complex because the core game mechanics of the Coil and Doom had to be introduced from Eddie's perspective for example they had plans to make him help a cut character named Crowley build the Doom back up after Ophelia bit the dust.
Fletus' faction the Motor Freeks were supposed to help Ironheade sabotage the Coil's industrial plants I guess learning how the Coil works in the process, you can tell they got too ambitious with the campaign despite it being an afterthought.

If this isnt the plot of the next game, i'd like to see a Riggnorok prequel

Damn, you have a Brutal Legend concept art book? I am very jealous of that, that's super awesome for a game with such style.
If you unlock the legends and why it is the way it is and has a huge mountain on it it gives the lore/area an understanding on it

Ophelia is destined to be alone. Eddie is destined to be on the road.

Spot on man. I wrote a long theory/wishlist for Brutal Legend 2 and posted it on the Double Fine forums once. I should try to find it
Yeah absolutely, if you ever do find it again you should definitely tell us more!
