I appreciate his commitment to be present in his son's life.
Also by he having a view of having traveled and gained a view of something other than the US, he can pass that on to his son.

money is not comfort.
Theo flew to the UAE on Emirates,not sure if he flew on a share or if the cost of his flight was included in his contract. That's 1st class on an A380. Other unknowns...Did he play at the Rex in Paris during his layover(probably did),and he got his top fee?....Theo spent that weekend getting fed,pampered,and living the life. He came back to America with a bag full of money...Euros no doubt,and outside of the travel,only worked about four hours outside of soundcheck...And everyone in music knows that Theos soundchecks are ummmm involved! There are tons of lesser known DJ's who play just as good,if not better,who would have done the gig for half the price...The moral of the story.....Count your frikken blessings,and don't whine about being relevant. I work on the music circuit in Europe,and I've spoken with many a DJ who went from popular to less popular,and back...The general consensus is,none of them like being broke.
How many of those lesser known DJs can fill 3 crates with records they created? The moral of the story is the context in which he was out on the road, and he was clearly counting his blessings in wanting to go home.

NOTE TO SELF. I should never listen to my musical heroes speak. THEO has only just realised he is now nothing more than a rich promoters(OIL BARONS) duke box THEO has only just realised when his son is eight,that he needs to be in his life more than in passing through. But at least he got a good fee!!!
