Many men feel like our societies no longer have structure and order. We currently live in a very chaotic world and a lot of men, especially young men feel like they no longer hold any purpose or respective value to the world, almost like we’ve become obsolete. Every religion has verses telling the people that they will see the truth and they need to repent. Different religions appeal to differing types of people. Conversion to Islam by increasing numbers of Western men may have something to do with these men needing structure and grounding, as our modern Western worlds and minds are increasingly disconnected from reality.

No reputable scholar interpreted it that way that the sun rising from the west is a metaphor for people becoming Muslims in the west and leaving the religion in the east. I would say Islam treats women special since men have to provide and protect for women and have certain responsibilities that women don't have to do. It legislates for every gender what is according to their individual needs due to their nature based on God's knowledge and wisdom of His own creation
He's a fool for misunderstanding a basic fundamental belief in Islam: the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him was merely a vessel for revelation and knowledge/wisdom of the religion our Creator wants mankind to follow. As they cover their beauty it makes it more important for them to develop their personality, morals and intellect, to be defined by. It prevents ppl getting arrogant and getting a superiority complex based on superficial trates. Keeps ppl down to earth, modesty. Trys to prevent self entitlement and Princess complex. It trys to prevent the commercialisation/weaponising of "beauty", by it not being a publicly displayed and traded commodity/currency. Trys to give women a break from having to compete with each other on just beauty, in open public. That can cause feelings of jealousy. Helps to try to prevent an army of simps and street pestering. As her beauty is for HER and the special people SHE chooses in her life. Helps to try to prevent insecurities trying to maintain unrealistic and unsustainable beauty standards, that are forever changing and expensive to uphold. This can cause mental issues in people and the sense of constant judgement and body shaming from people that don't know you or care about your long-term good.

The oldest extant biography of Muhammad is called the "Sirat Rasulallah" - "Life of the Prophet of Allah".

There was none more hateful to me then Allah’s Messenger (pbuh) as he killed my father and husband. [But] the Prophet (pbuh) explained, ‘O Safiya your father instigated the Arabs against me and did so and so…’ He kept on explaining until that feeling (of hatred) vanished from me.’

✍Here Saffiya saying she hated the prophet at first, because he slaughtered her whole family. So when he had sex with her, she hated him, that’s just called rape.
Two things we should keep in mind are that:
1) she was surrounded by those who took her as slave and for the rest of her life, she had to live among those who butchered her whole family.
2) All of this written by Muslims, so of course she would claim, or Muslim scholar would add, that she didn't hate him anymore.

Many men feel like our societies no longer have structure and order. We currently live in a very chaotic world and a lot of men, especially young men feel like they no longer hold any purpose or respective value to the world, almost like we’ve become obsolete. Many are either entirely focusing on themselves or their paths, or converting to new religions such as Islam in order to find a path and a structured way of life.
I think that's something people like Sam Harris don't understand is that most men are not very well educated. But a good structured society always made sure that men who weren't very book smart could still lead a good moral life style. Religion was a typical institution for guidance of lost men.

This is how religions survive for such long periods. They incorporate a belief that creates a self-reinforcing us-versus-them dichotomy, creating this perception of "us versus them" in such a way that anyone who criticizes or questions "us" immediately becomes a "them".

I would say Islam treats women special since men have to provide and protect for women and have certain responsibilities that women don't have to do. It legislates for every gender what is according to their individual needs due to their nature based on God's knowledge and wisdom of His own creation

I think it’s as simple as Christianity is dead and people want to get on the winning team , Islam is ACTIVE and has huge numbers and power. You get to be part of something that is actually Active AND growing AND winning . (I’m not a Muslim or a big fan of the religion myself)

People of the past took them literally, just like fundamentalists today, who are as ignorant about science as those people 2000 years ago. You have it reversed. I've recently been going through Jordan Peterson's Biblical series, and I have to agree with your point. From a psychological and symbolical perspective there is so much more to those stories.
Historically, religious people have interpreted their texts both literally and symbolically. It is nothing new to take texts literally.
the classic juxtapose method. when it paints the texts in bad light, claim the interpretation was bad, when it looks good then say 'see, it says the truth'. the funny part is that whether something is painted in bad light depends only on who is currently listening. what Sam says here publically on youtube, it is gonna be bad, but cheered upon when read in private or non-western circles.
