Damn. Leffen looked like he was in full control of game 1 and then Armada gets two quick edge guards and suddenly Armada got all the momentum.
People are just default saying "Leffen played better" or "Leffen had better combos" now. Look at Armada's conversions on game 3.
Yea this is fox dittos, edgeguarding makes you INSANELY better. Fox is very hard to finish off in fox dittos, but with good edgeguarding you can simply dispose of the other fox quickly and efficiently. A fox with stellar edgeguarding and bad neutral would beat fox with good neutral and mediocre edgeguarding.

5:22 That pretty much is what it comes down to. Armada is just fundamentally better at the game than Leffen. Leffen's precise moves give him the edge in some situations, but Armada is just more consistent in every aspect.
I could have said the reverse the last 2 times they played...

Why do Fox mains use pivot or shield stop for running up smash? Can't you just JC it and it does the same thing?
ThingSomeRandom They do it to get perfect spacing to try to make it safe. I believe JCs carry a bit of momentum. That or some kind of options select? Option selects are popular in all fighting games.

Damn leffen looked so clean in the first game and then got cheesed to death and tilted lol
I feel like in both sets they played, Leffen had a better combo game than Armada, reason why we got a game 5 situation with Leffen's win. But Armada's just much better at edgeguarding, and he probably figured out he wouldn't be able to beat Leffen trying to outplay him at neutral and instead concentrate much in getting him offstage and egdeguarding him, hence winning 3-0 over him. That's another strong point of Armada; adaptation.
That's not true, Armada's combo game was clearly better than Leffen's in the losers' finals set. Look at the zero to death right off the bat in game 3. Armada was getting way more % off of 1 hit than Leffen in this set. You're just listening to what the commentators said after game 1, which was correct but only for that one game. By game 2 on FD you can see Armada was better in neutral + combo game. Armada did not to "rely" on gimping after that. He outplayed him in neutral.
Thank you for editing that... Anyways, I didn't mean to say that Leffen was always getting better combos than Armada, I based that statement mostly on what I remembered from the first set they played. And of course Armada didn't rely only on gimps to win this set, but he did put effort in it because it was getting the results he wanted.
