    I am single with no dependents. My first job is a 40 hours job and sometimes I do get overtime. For the second job, I do UberEat and my weekly pay varies each week. Plus, I believe I get a 1099 form. How do I fill in that information? Thank you!

    Do you have to update your 1st job when you get A second job I've been at my 1st job for 18 years I got a second job just for extra income

    I've worked my 1st job continuously since 2007, but have recently picked up some part time work. I have to fill out a w-4 obviously, but I'm confused. Am I required to submit new w-4s to both employers?

  • @jenniferhedrick2852

    Thanks so much! We are gonna fill out the estimator at the same time as watching this to be sure (altho I took notes) and then my understanding is hubs resubmits updated w-4 to his main (first) employer, and submits this one to his new (second) part-time employer so they are all matched up? Just want to be sure. Thanks again. 🙏

    • @TravisSickle
      @TravisSickle  Год назад

      right, easiest way is to update them all. Essentially trying to estimate what your taxes will be and pay it over the year rather than getting a refund or owing.

    Thanks for this info. Now getting familiar with this stuff for my new job. Would the W 4 form submitted to my employer have info on the income from my previous job?

    • @TravisSickle

      The employer will not know anything but yes it should go into the estimator.

      @@TravisSickleThank you. Appreciate the response. What advice do you have for someone who works with a church, prepares timesheets weekly but submits it every 12 weeks for payroll due to the negligible sum. The estimator only accommodates up to monthly payments but I’m periodic.

    When using the estimator, if I have 2 jobs and my husband has one job, and we are filing jointly. Would I enter the 3 jobs in the estimator?

  • @hellomeansgoodbye8026

    I'm just confused as to what to do about if both jobs pay the same hourly which is higher paying? The one that you made the most money at? And if you haven't even started the other job does job 1 automatically become the higher paying job? Or do you not have to even mention you have another job on the new job w 4 tax paper since you already did a w 4 for job 1 ? Do you have to mention it or not? I'm confused 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

    I have 2 jobs as of now. I'm getting a third job. But I will leave one of my jobs which will put me back to 2 jobs. I'm filling out my w4 for a new job which will be my highest paying job . Should I just put I have only 2 jobs? Even though as I start my new job I will officially have three jobs. But After giving Two weeks notice for one of my jobs , it will put me back to 2 jobs. What should I do? Thanks

  • @LoneStarLyceum
    @LoneStarLyceum 2 года назад +1

    @travissickle What if one of the jobs was full time, then later in the year brought down to part time, while also getting a new full time job? There isnt a way to select that, because the amount earned per pay check for the job that went full time to part time will change drastically. Do you just manipulate the numbers for pay periods until the end of the year total for that job looks right? Cant figure out another way.

      you are not paying 4 times. use the estimator. I just posted an updated video on this.

    I just discovered your channel, I know this video is late, but why am I getting a number on part 3 dependants and credits, I'm single and have zero dependants, I got a 56 on part 3 nothing on extra withholdings for the job with the highest pay. Thanks

    • @TravisSickle
      @TravisSickle  8 месяцев назад

      It’s all tax credits but totally understandable that it’s confusing because it looks like it’s only for dependent credits. It should be called the tax credit section. It confuses lots of people.

    Thank you for this great video! I have a question what if someone is starting 2 jobs within 1 week of each other? When you fill out 1 W4 do you add the other one on the other W4? and go through the tax estimator? Hope this makes sense😬

    • @TravisSickle

      You can just enter them in today. You already know you have two jobs, so enter them both in at the same time.

      @@TravisSickle Okay. So here is the situation. Today I filled out 1 W4 for the 1 job. I don't go until next week to fill out paperwork for the job #2. I haven't technically started working yet at either one. The one I filled out today I did as normal. So for the one next week do I fill in 2 jobs? Or do as normal then go to the website like you did in the video and put in the necessary info? I'm sorry I'm new to this

    How would overtime work with hourly jobs

    • @TravisSickle
      @TravisSickle  Год назад

      Your withholdings should adjust to account for the extra hours but a good way to check is to redo the estimator periodically and check it against your current withholds to make sure you are on track. I may add this as a video in early January once the estimator gets updated.
