A violent tornado struck downtown Sulphur, OK overnight causing catastrophic damage through town. Many homes and businesses were destroyed.
I saw the bakery my birthday cakes came from 56 years ago now in shambles. Praying for all my loved ones and everyone there.
For those who still have questions. There was an area where the homes stood empty because they had their own little network to see to it they all were safely evacuated. But some people were in their pajamas or just wrapped in a bath towel. Vince Brandon and others were doing search and rescue operations too last night. So please ask your followers to having respect for them. It’s really stressful and we who follow them can hear and often have seen them cry. Why? If people don’t have compassion then they aren’t human

Looks like it must have been a lovely little downtown and to see it destroyed like this is incredibly sad.
People don't always realize that some of these small towns may never recover from this. Towns have literally shut down from tornadoes. They cease to exist. Scary stuff.

I was on Ryan halls live when I first heard this tornado touched down! Praying for everyone in Sulpher❤️
That's intense tornado damage. Two crazy nights, back to back. Hoping folks in the affected areas can catch a break.
EF4. Some of it leans 3, some of it leans 5 but it is very consistent F4 damage.
I’m so sad for that beautiful area. We loved visiting there, eating, walking in the park, kayaking at the lake. I’m so sorry. :-(

Dang! I'm at ft Cobb lake . I watched a tornado go right by me yesterday. I'm even more grateful it missed us. I'm in a bus camping!

So sad to see..Sulphur is just a wonderful town. A step into the past of old time living. One of the last true small town downtown's worth going to see. Hopefully they will rebuild back better than ever...

This is going to look worse come sunrise. I followed along with Vince and Brandon among others yesterday on the livestream s and it’s heartbreaking to see this happening without the people being warned in advance. Vince talked to local people and the power may have been affected before a warning

Please pray for my brother and his family they live here. Noone can get in touch with them. We know there's no power but cell isn't working or they'e not answering. At midnight they were asking for people to come help do searching and rescue. Please pray for Oklahoma cause we had over 20 big tornados. Ty❤
Will do friend. There are some church members in the area that might still have cell phone service. So I'd suggest that if you can't get in touch with your brother maybe you can get in touch with pastor Dr. Edward Moody of First Freewill Baptist Church there in Sulphur Oklahoma and ask him to make contact. I saw at least one church still standing and the school was still good so there have to be a lot of survivors. The only person they are actively searching for was in the sports bar and no deaths have been reported yet, just a lot of injuries.

There is no recovery for this. When I lived down there, a lot of Sulphur downtown was abandoned buildings and some was visibility beyond repairs
That just isn't true, these historic buildings were in good shape and the community was keeping the downtown alive and well.
@JaneDoesMind the back side of most had fallen in.. lol, I see this as a great opportunity to rebuild it to code and bring new people into the area.
Some of the buildings had gotten fixed up a bit before this in recent years, but old is old.

This type of damage reminds me of the town of Dawson springs Ky that was hit with the Ef4 on Dec 2021. My Brother lives in Dawson and we live about about 10 miles from the community of Barnsley Ky. Dawson and Barnsley was wiped off the map basically. The communities pulled together and helped each other but it will take a lot of time, tears and hard work to come back from this. The trees in Dawson springs Ky is just now not looking like a war zone and the community has rebuilt quite bit almost 3 years later.

The second one didn't hit the town directly like the first one, but yes, there were two.
Unfortunately, on both nights there have been single towns that were tornado warned back-to-back, as extensive lines of storms and supercells moved over their areas 😞
They're fortunate that they didn't get hit by 1 or 2 more immediately after this one.
There were 2 more in line, but the 2nd one passed a little southeast. If the weather livestream that I watched last night was correct.

I get Norman is a significantly bigger town with more people, but it is kind of disgraceful that none of the meteorologists out of OKC really talked about this while it was happening, that I saw anyway. The only one I saw cover it regularly was kxii. Focused on Ardmore, but he would take a five seconds every few minutes to tell people in Sulphur, Pauls Valley, Ada, Springer, Gene Autrie, Marietta and their surrounding areas to seek shelter. That's how you should do it.

Looks like that was worthy of an *EF-3* rating, possibly EF-4
F4 is collapsed sturdy building, F3 is still standing but severely damaged.
Both are present here but I don't know the exact durability of some of the collapsed structures. If they were brick then definitely F4

@@bowserjjumetroid3645 Some people in the comments are saying those were abandoned and in states of disrepair, which might disqualify it for EF4. I rarely went to Sulphur so I can't say for sure, though I do recall seeing a few that could get knocked over quite easily.

Well these people arnt able to sleep anyway knowing a strong tornadoe hit their town with businesses and famileis they know. Only a psychopath could sleep after that and if your up you might as well get started, jobs stop at 5pm but life doesnt.
