I found this today anfter watching many other vids. This was the only one that covered all the wires I needed. Start to finsih I was done within 1 hour. Followed u to a T, and walla, my furnace turned on right after I confirmed settings. It had been out two weeks as we thought it was another part. Temps dropped to 18 last night so we ordered best buy thermo, came by noon. Found this vid and you have saved out buts. Thank you!!!!
Thanks for providing this video. I came across others, which were fine, except non had the orange wire I had. Thankfully i came across your video that explain the install as i needed it to. Thanks again, you're appreciated
Thanks for video I installed my new Honeywell thermostat this morning great instructions you provided very easy to install just following your instructions.
The heat setting just blow with no heat. I have brown blue white green yellow red black orange. I hooked up like urs still no heat. Brown is c. Blue and black is not hooked. I had black hooked and it seem to kick out my fan and blown my compressor
Did you take note of the wiring of the previous thermostat? The colors can be different, it’s best to look at previous wiring to find what each wire does.
Good question! I’d imagine the easiest way would be to create two different accounts on two different devices. However I am not entirely sure since I only have one at my location!
I don’t have orange, everything you did make sense but when it comes to orange and white I got conf. Where do I plug my white since I don’t have orange?
Orange is for heat pump. White on mine is for secondary heat source (W2). If you don't have heat pump white likely goes where orange was as primary heat source (W1). Look at your orig setup to be sure.
Hello I only have 3 wires a white, green, and red wire. I don’t have a AC system is there a special way I should set this up? The others wires look they’ve been cut.
Easiest thing to do is take note of how it was wired to the previous thermostat and wire the same. I’m not sure if the software will detect if you don’t have a heat or AC as far as the user interface, but if you flipped on the AC when you only had heat for example, it would just do nothing or it may flip on the fan. So shouldn’t be a problem.
Nive video how do I set up 2of these thermostats ithe same app ? Can I do that with this thermostat? And control 2-3 Honeywell thermostats from one app? How do I do this? Thank you! George
You would prob just have to have different devices logged into the different thermostats. Or log in and out the different ones on the same device. I’m not sure that the app can handle multiple. That being said, I haven’t tried it, so if I am wrong, please post about it!!
At around 3:50 or so, it is stated that sometimes you need to push in the little button to assist with the wire going in. So, my question is, is it necessary to have the little "push in" plastic button? I've several of these models listed as used and many do not have the plastic piece. Are they still good to use?
Great video, What happened if I have an HVAC system with 2 thermostat. 1 control the heating and the other one control the A/C? I want to buy this thermostat, do i need to buy 2 of them?
You should be able to put them both to one thermostat. You’ll need to double check the wiring. You may not have a c wire with that setup, which may need to be remedied.
Has anyone had a problem with the t stat losing internet connection? Mine had been connected for a month or two, last week it won’t connect to Wi-Fi. I hotspot my phone and it connects. All my other Wi-Fi devices at connected and nothing has changed on the Wi-Fi
I guess yours has the diagonal lines in the background also? Honeywell says that’s normal. I have there more expensive smart color background stat also, and it doesn’t have the lines. Maybe you sacrifice quality for the reduced price?
I have orange, white, and brown included. My brown is emergency heat. I have daily I don't know what to do with my white and orange since they both should go to the same place
If your wiring is like mine Orange goes to the O/B input. White goes to W2. If the colors aren't coordinated to the standard colors, then you will need to figure out what the wires are doing and wire them accordingly.
Thanks for the video. I am having problems getting mine set up. The thermostat was already in the home and it's asking me to press and hold the middle temperature on the thermostat for 5 seconds, and it's supposed to say something, but nothing happens. What if you are not the original owner of the thermostat, how do you set it up?
You can do a factory reset. There should be an option in the settings menu. Or if you can’t get there, pull it off the wall and put it back on and hopefully that can get it to reboot.

Just wanted to say thanks. It's been quite a while since I had to do this, but with your video, I had mine installed in 10 minutes!
The best video for this installation. I had the system up and running in minutes. Thanks.
Thanks Man!! This video was exactly what I needed!! Had the wiring correct, but my settings were all wrong! System now up and running correctly! 👍🏾✌🏾
Thanks for video I installed my new Honeywell thermostat this morning great instructions you provided very easy to install just following your instructions.
Thanks for your video. It made the installation very easy.
very helpfull on yhe wire colors and where they go. Thanks for sharing.
Straight and to the point, Well Done!
I also got a black wire that was hooked to W2 on my last thermostat

were you able to copnnect this to the google home app?
I see that it is registered in Google home under the Honeywell total connect comfort US app. I didn’t try to link it however.
hey i was wondering if you could help me with my system which only has 2 wires
A home I moved into has this. They already had an account and had registered. Do I need to reset it or how can I pair it to a new account?
If you have two thermostats, how do you install one so each can be controlled individually?
Good question! I’d imagine the easiest way would be to create two different accounts on two different devices. However I am not entirely sure since I only have one at my location!

I have a question I have a blk not blue were would the blk wire go
What was it going to on your previous thermostat?

If you have an air handler w/ heat pump. This is the video you're looking for. Good job Bub

As long as there is a mechanism to hold the wire in place, then it doesn’t really matter.
Good video

Why the screen has lines?
Did everything twice and no power. Any tips?
You may not have a c wire. In which case you need to use batteries (which I’m not sure this thermostat has capability for)
How do you get the wires out of the terminal now?
Push down on the little tab above the wire, then pull out.
Did you test the heat function and it work?
Yes, the heat and auxiliary heat functions both work as intended.
Is there an app to control
It from the phone?
Yes, it’s called “Total Connect Comfort”
Why does this stat cycle too much
What if I dont have a c wire?
Then you have to use batteries with it
Ask a HVAC guy what he hates most.....
home users installing wifi thermostats.
Yeah the HVAC guys who haven't entered the 21st century yet.
Jesus Christ , is like not even a bit of privacy for us in this days
Why app did you use
It’s called “Total Connect Comfort”
Do they charge a monthly fee
Thank you for sharing 👍🏿 I really do appreciate it
Donde descargo la app
Thank you Man, u Safe the day! U deserve Sub!

Is the touchscreen a bit unresponsive? Like it takes a while for it to work when you press a button.
Sometimes yes, have to press is a few times.
Yes. I found the touch screen somewhat unresponsive too
This is a GREAT video. Just the info I needed. If you add the term "Heat Pump" in the description it will help heat pump owners find it.
I only have 2 wires white and red what should I do ???? Pls
You’d have to see what they were wired to on your previous thermostat.
@@UCanFixAnything the white one is on W and the red is on R! Do I need the jumping cable ?
Thanks
Anybody notice those lines on the screen?
Excellent instructions. Simple and easy to connect your thermostat.

Very good video. Straight to the point, no fluff, no time wasted. I wish they all were like this.
