      Did you take note of the wiring of the previous thermostat? The colors can be different, it’s best to look at previous wiring to find what each wire does.

    If you have two thermostats, how do you install one so each can be controlled individually?

    • @UCanFixAnything
      @UCanFixAnything  2 года назад

      Good question! I’d imagine the easiest way would be to create two different accounts on two different devices. However I am not entirely sure since I only have one at my location!

    • @UCanFixAnything
      @UCanFixAnything  Год назад

      Orange is for heat pump. White on mine is for secondary heat source (W2). If you don't have heat pump white likely goes where orange was as primary heat source (W1). Look at your orig setup to be sure.

    Hello I only have 3 wires a white, green, and red wire. I don’t have a AC system is there a special way I should set this up? The others wires look they’ve been cut.

    • @UCanFixAnything
      @UCanFixAnything  Год назад +1

      Easiest thing to do is take note of how it was wired to the previous thermostat and wire the same. I’m not sure if the software will detect if you don’t have a heat or AC as far as the user interface, but if you flipped on the AC when you only had heat for example, it would just do nothing or it may flip on the fan. So shouldn’t be a problem.

    • @UCanFixAnything
      @UCanFixAnything  2 года назад

      You would prob just have to have different devices logged into the different thermostats. Or log in and out the different ones on the same device. I’m not sure that the app can handle multiple. That being said, I haven’t tried it, so if I am wrong, please post about it!!

    At around 3:50 or so, it is stated that sometimes you need to push in the little button to assist with the wire going in. So, my question is, is it necessary to have the little "push in" plastic button? I've several of these models listed as used and many do not have the plastic piece. Are they still good to use?

    • @UCanFixAnything
      @UCanFixAnything  9 месяцев назад +1

      As long as there is a mechanism to hold the wire in place, then it doesn’t really matter.

    • @UCanFixAnything
      @UCanFixAnything  10 месяцев назад

      You should be able to put them both to one thermostat. You’ll need to double check the wiring. You may not have a c wire with that setup, which may need to be remedied.

    • @UCanFixAnything

      If your wiring is like mine Orange goes to the O/B input. White goes to W2. If the colors aren't coordinated to the standard colors, then you will need to figure out what the wires are doing and wire them accordingly.

    Thanks for the video. I am having problems getting mine set up. The thermostat was already in the home and it's asking me to press and hold the middle temperature on the thermostat for 5 seconds, and it's supposed to say something, but nothing happens. What if you are not the original owner of the thermostat, how do you set it up?

    • @UCanFixAnything
      @UCanFixAnything  2 года назад +1

      You can do a factory reset. There should be an option in the settings menu. Or if you can’t get there, pull it off the wall and put it back on and hopefully that can get it to reboot.
