- I recently reviewed the Chemical Guys Wash and Shine Essentials Kit available at Costco for $54.99. I got a lot of comments on that video saying that the same car wash kit was available at Walmart for $40. So I immediately headed over to my local Walmart to pick one up and check them out side by side. Although these kits are similar, they are definitely not the same. In today's video I walk through both kits and explain the benefits, differences, and alternatives for both of these kits... ENJOY!

Went to Costco today after watching video yesterday. No kits at my Costco here in Texas, but walked out with 200 bucks worth of other things I needed lol.
Only $200??? Lol
If we dan get out under $300, I consider it a win… 🤷🏻♂️

Dude, AWESOME comparison - picked up the Wal*Mart kit (again) after buying one as an X-Mas present for a friend... DIABLO is AMAZING!! One of the best wheel cleaners I have used in a long time. Love the Mr. Pink also! The Costco kit seems awesome especially for the size of the wash... Thanks for the info -- Overall I agree - the Chemical Guys have great products and the value, as you stated, is clearly built in using the same "% off" idea. Thanks again for the info and great job!
I just bought one from Walmart and it did come with total interior cleaner, also autozone also has a bucket that is different

I got the 2016 chemicals bucket and it came with way more goodies at $69.99 I got the watermelon snow foam, window cleaner, the foam gun for the water hose, the tire shine applicator pad, 2 blue microfiber towels, the microfiber square applicator sponge, better butter, tire brush, the bucket, and the girt guard. It came in a big box that had to be delivered.
Hey Josh, great content as always! I live on an island relatively close to the shore. I am particularly interested in understanding which soaps/products are particularly well suited for environmentally sensitive areas. I can't find good content on this anywhere. My driveway drain does not go directly into the storm sewer, it does go through gravel and sand filtration before getting to groundwater. I know you live work in San Diego, so my guess is you have knowledge and experience balancing effective products vs. environmental concerns. Thank you for all your great content.

I got that one.. it comes with 3 microfiber towels.. the Diablo..tire shine and honeydew snowfoam..

I know the Costco kit is a bit more but I feel like it's a bit closer to an all in one get it done solution than the Walmart version.
I feel like an interior cleaner is a bit more of a necessity than a dressing for the average person at least

That was actually much more interesting than expected. I do like Costco, unfortunately they aim for a demographic above my pay grade. I can’t even afford the membership fee any more.
Just buy both. And you can do the 2 bucket cleaning methods... like chemical guy shows on youtube.
In my country they sell everything separate. Only the bucket cost $13.00 and the wash bucket lid alone costs $10.00
Autozone also has its own kit. Similar products and price as walmart but comes with mf towels with no satin edge.
I got that Walmart bucket on clearance once for $20.

My local Walmart has an interior kit and an exterior kit. They both come in a boxes though instead of the bucket. I know the exterior comes with citrus wash n gloss which is actually a fantastic deep cleaning soap
I have a whole gallon of that from a few years ago. I'm going to try to use it up this summer.
@@NickVetter the lubricity of the soap is incredible. It's a ph balanced soap too so the cleaning capabilities of it are pretty solid. And I dont really care for CG but the soap is a solid product

I like Chemical guys but it seems like they have remixes of each product and sell them like they’re “new”. I know formulas are improved, but I stopped buying for now until I see something new. (I’m a newbie to car detailing so completely an opinion from me!)
I agree with you. The have a lot of products that do the same thing just marketed differently. With that said they do make good products

I really like most of the Chemical Guys product lineup but unfortunately their stuff is stupidly expensive where I live. Like 63 US dollars for a gallon of Honeydew or Watermelon snowfoam stupid. Mr Pink is like 57 USD a gallon, 50 USD for the bucket with lid and grit guard. Diablo's at 23 USD for the 16oz bottle. And everything's sold separately too, no discounted kits available. I'd give my left nut to be able to get CG stuff as cheap as you guys can in the States.
Very different kits....Buy both.
