I used to consume CFB content religiously around 2010 and many a year after that. I have moved away from the game 5 or so years ago but watching these drafts feels so homely and even a bit nostalgic. Thanks for your continued contributions to this game and it's community.
That’s when I started watching CFB. The TSG situation still pains me as I absolutely loved Magic TV and the chemistry. It was never the same with Masha.

Just FYI, "homely" means ugly/plain, opposite of comely. Word you want is homey or cozy.

1:09:02 their primary natural order target is probably Craterhoof, which is worse than Whisperwood here. Seems thin but is pretty much the only explanation I can think of.
Yeah, if you have access to Progenitus or Atraxa here you just choose those surely but outside of that: Prime Time, Craterhoof, Kogla, Avenger of Zendikar, a Hermit, Hornet Queen, Oracle of Mul Daya - I would probably choose to grab Whisperwood over those cards a lot of the time and even if I knew my opponent was sitting on Snuff Out. Natural Order is such a scary card but context is everything in this case :)
Yaaay, I'm in a LSV video (the second player), my dream came true! :D The Hymn really screwed me up! In the 3rd game I mulled to 6 and since I had really slow hand I thought about mulling to 5. Probably shoud have done that :)
That last game comeback was wild. All the games were very watchable. Love it!

Don't really play limited (commander player). Have never played vintage. Yet still these are so highly entertaining and informative. It has taught me so much about deck building and recognizing synergies as well as how to build and support them.

hmm Kaldra itself also has indestructible, so wear//tear doesn't really do anything into that one. On another note in the last game they probably had Behemoth to NO for, but in that spot Whisperwood seems like the better choice by a lot, that snuff out was just perfectly unexpected
also, funny enough maybe they were hopin for atraxa but lsv is the one who drafted it! >.< heheh unintentional hate draftin?

What I learned from this video: Smuggler’s copter, fable of the mirror breaker, and reanimate are so ridiculously powerful, they can win games almost by themselves. 👍

Have you ever considered a vintage rotisserie draft? I know it's a bit clunky and there's no automatic tools for it, but I would absolutely adore seeing a 2023 take on the format from some of the best players if you can gather together a pod to do one.

interesting interaction at 31:01. Skyclave apparition didn't give LSV the 1/1 because he isn't the owner of the card, just the controller.

loving these videos, sad to see so many misplays though... not playing/holding up removal properly and then getting steamrolled is rough.
Fun to see how viable this was :) That second round went a bit messy, with bringing in wear//tear against kaldra. Also the bolt didn't have to be used on thraben inspector since you could just cast thopter and crewed it with magda right?

Not that I'm saying you should've cared enough to get 2 points of damage in, but you absolutely would've, because Magda generates the treasure token on declare attackers and fatal push is an instant so you just cast it when the stack empties on the declare attackers step.
During the recap of the deck I'm imaging the Robber of the Rich waving his hands in front of Magda scream, but what about me?

48:01 Is Sheoldred not a win here, given it survives? You have the Monarch, so you gain 2 at end step, bringing you you to 8. Then, if they attack with everything, Sheoldred blocks Kaldra and you take 5; and if they give Kaldra pro-black then swing with everything (except the tapped Giver), you can block Jailer and take 7. They will have taken 2 in their draw step, bringing them to 9, so on your turn you swing with Copter and burn them out.
Surprised Mishra's Bauble didn't even get a mention at 16:45 in your Lurrus sacrifice deck.

15:51 OK but what on earth were people drafting? Red and black are really open, but then that's a late mana drain, and then the next pack has a Thalia, and then the next one has a JTMS and a Sheoldred. It's like the table has 5 green drafters.

11:40 - if the deck you were drafting was not one of Braids' "moments", what on earth would be one of her moments? You have Rabble, Jadar, Ophiomancer, Daretti, Magda. All cards that create sacrifice fodder for you every turn, mostly unconditionally. If the deck is not a Braids deck I don't know if a Braids deck exists.
It's still 4 mana with some extra setup. So situations where you can turbo it out ahead of curve and have the supporting cards to make it one sided are very rare. Which means by the time you can afford to play out Braids, they'll usually have a couple turns of sacrifice fodder to answer Braids or just win. Sure, there are situations where it can be good, but with the backbone of the best decks in the vintage cube shifting from 4+ drops to 1-3 drops, those situations become increasingly rare. So yeah, I'm not sure a Braids deck exists in the vintage cube.
The Braids deck doesn't exist. As demonstrated, the best 4 drop for sac decks is Yawggy. Yeah sometimes you can live the dream and lock your opponent out of the game by forcing them to sac all their lands, but usually you just want to keep the board clear, and Yawg does that better than Braids while drawing you cards as well.
I wish the cube came back more often 😭

Vintage cube is usually only up for a week and tends to come back towards the end of the newest sets lifespan, ie a few weeks to a month before the next set releases.
Most recent cube league ended about two weeks ago so it'll be a bit before its back

@genghispog No worries! Hope you catch it next time! Side note, MTGO phantom queues are excellent value. One win gets half your entry back, and two wins breaks even so for 20 or 30 bucks you can usually get a ton of cube drafts in even with just some basic knowledge from watching LSV etc on RUclips. So many folks find it intimidating when it's really not and I absolutely think everyone should at least give it a try 😀.
Future LSV would scoff at not first-picking Academy

more token makers and less reanimate wouldve really synergyzed this deck.
