Hi Gina. I really enjoyed your responses to the tag. I love my "old lady" books too. I also love Sarah Waters and May Sarton! (I did this tag the other day, too, and I also tagged Jenni and Becca--two phenomenal women, for sure!) Again, lovely job on this tag.
I would love to revisit Rosamund Pilcher. The only book of hers I know for sure I've read was The Shell Seekers, but I'm guessing there must be at least one other. Love Sarah Waters! We need a new one! Yes to all the cozy house content and vibes.
Hi Gina, many many thanks for shouting out my channel and doing my first original book tag. We both love the old lady books and I remember the decorating author. We both loved from the 80s. I don’t remember her name offhand but I still have a T book she wrote. I read winter solstice because of you and really enjoyed it. Sending out lots of love and aloha your way.MMM
Thank you so much for the tag and kind words! I will have to get to this one very soon, I'm already racking my brain for who are good to talk about, so many. I read As We Are Now as my first Sarton this year, I enjoyed so much of the idea, structure, and writing, but that one is so bleak!!! I definitely need to read more of her work. Your lazy cow bathroom cabinet cleanup inspired me to do the same to finally this past weekend, I've been putting off, feels such a relief to declutter.
Hi Gina, I love Winter Solstice and Elfrida too, although I would not call her elderly because I suppose I am elderly but I do not consider myself that way either. Ha. Anyway my all time favorite has to be DE Stevenson and Miss Buncle. I love house stories and Miss Buncle Married told a real dood one. AIso love Elizabeth Goudge and recently loved The White Witch a great historical novel. Now I want to reread some Norah Lofts. Her historical house books were great! 😊❤
The joy of buying your first home 🏡❤️. I was 38 and I remember the utter panic of ensuring that the finances were ok etc. My favourite fictional old lady is Miss Havisham from Great Expectations, totally memorable and dreadful 😅. I love Rosamund Pilcher, my fave is the Shellseekers❤.
Winter Solstice is that written, like.. each character has it's own chapter? Because if that's the case it's a must have for me!. I just love book where it has multiple characters and each chapter is from a different character perspective! .
@@GinaStanyerBooks at one point I had all of her books but moved into an RV full time and had to part with them and a whole lot of other favorites! Now my kindle is my constant companion!

I have subscribed to Marilyn's channel. I'm really looking forward now to following both of you. Very enjoyable video - thank you!

Winter Solstice is a great one to read in the winter. It's so cozy and Christmas-y!
👏 👏 👏 Rosamunde Pilcher ❤
It seems I can’t make a video without mentioning her 😂

I really prefer her journals and have actually not read a lot of her fiction. I do own some and want to try it tough!

Rosamund Pilcher, Agatha Christie, and Kate Morton.
Characters: Mrs Pollifax, Jane Marple, and Miss Buncle. Great tag🙂📚
Great list! I love all those characters too!
Loved the sound of Mary Sarton’s writing. Great tag!
@@spreadbookjoy thanks Jack!
I love May Sarton. I’ve read all of her journals. I enjoyed Winter Solstice too.
I’ve read them all too! My favorites are definitely Plant Dreaming Deep and The House by the Sea.

Yes! Each chapter focuses on a character - not from their POV since it's in third person, but around their focus.
@@GinaStanyerBooks Ooooh that sounds amazing !!. Now it's getting higher up my wishlist!! 😍
May Sarton is one of my most favorite authors!!!
Isn’t she wonderful?!

😂 two tags for the same tag, I’ve become a real BookTuber 😂
Guess it's a hint, you should do this tag!
