Wrestling is the perspective of whatever douchebag running the show thinks society wants to see. They used to cater to the 15/35 yo dudes who want to see girls gone wild. To say it’s some kind of illuminating reflection of our society is a total fucking joke
Russo/Ferrara said the difference in booking between them and most other people was.. Most bookers first come up with a list of matches, and then try and come up with reasons for the matches to happen. Russo/Ferrara first came up with the angles, and then the matches happened naturally as a result of where the angle was going.
And that's, despite what you may think of said angles (won't say they've always hit the mark, but they definitely hit the jackpot more often than not), is why Russo and Ferrara are still better writers than anyone in AEW or WWE since their departure. Plus, it wasn't just main event guys getting proper feuds. Lower card folks like Snow or Val Venis were getting something meaningful to do as well.
Al Snow would make NO ONES Mt Rushmore of Wrestling. He would be the Designer of the Monument!! EVERONE WANTED HEAD during the Attitude Era, even the White House!
He’s absolutely right! At the time of me writing this, lots of people - and not just NFL fans, dislike the Kansas City Chiefs because of the Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce power couple storyline that has been pushed all season long and now has escalated to the point where they’re in the super bowl and everybody just wants to see them lose. There will always be a face and a heel out made from circumstance.
In large part yes. The NWO moved WCW into a more realistic fashion so WWF combine ECW's sex and hardcore with WCW's realism and it became the attitude era
Al snow is always argumentative!! He is a smart guy but light weight annoying. All his videos he argues the point. Unless it’s a star wrestler then he falls into rank.
He seems likes hes always trying to be the smartest guy in the room. The grizzled vet who knows everything. Tell you why your opinion is wrong. Tell you why a stupid idea is actually a great idea because it technically drew money. He also seems like he has a stick up his ass, which is the exact opposite of his character. I do like him and think hes a smart guy. He could tone it down a bit at times though.
I swear theres a video somewhere I think he is with some students at a school and he asks them all a question and when someone finally answers and I'm pretty sure Al said there are no stupid answers, he basically said thats a stupid answer and Al's answer ended up being pretty close to what the student said, just reworded 😂😂😂 Just loves to be argumentative for sure.

He's spot on. The late 90s for example was a really cool/edgy time where millenials were pushing the limits with behaviour. Hip hop was in full form too and it all translated into how WWF was cool back then. Just look at the crowd during the attitude era. You didn't have these fat nerds now that cry over cyber bullying.
I can listen to Al Snow talk about wrestling for hours.
I can too. But why would I want to?
Proof Al Snow is 100% correct is as simple and clear as The Rock being a heel RIGHT NOW
"If you don't like wrestling you hate society."
Huh? Lol
The point
Your head
I get what he is saying. You don't have to enjoy wrestling. But if you just hate the idea of it that's rather misanthropic.
I was trying to understand that as well like wtf
If wrestling reflects society, and you don't like it, then you are seeing something in society that you don't like.

Funny thing is, Sean said what Al said, just in a much more condensed version. At least in my view.
Not the same at all. You just don't understand what's being said.

What garbage that was. I think Mae Young was mentally challenged during that period.

Man I had no idea there was a al snow episode
Not like they’ve had legends on lol
There IS an Al Snow episode.
I do love Al he is old school. You don’t know where you’re going until you know where you have been.
Per Al, he had a period of suffering ir-retractable hiccups that lasted weeks. That is what affected his larynx/voice.
Man its amazng how many superstars these guys managed to interview...and Al Snow.

i always found it as a reaction to South Park, Jerry Springer, and Howard Stern. All entertainment in general was getting "edgy"
Totally agree
It was a softer version of ECW
