This is gonna sound really dumb but I have a gap between my two front teeth. When I was younger I was very self conscious about it. I would never smile and I always thought for some reason it would hold me back in life. My folks couldn't afford to get me braces. My dad had this CD so I had heard this song 100 times. One day when I was around 10-11 we had one of those music video channels on and this video came on. I knew the song but had never seen the video. When I saw Dan Bairds smile the first time it instantly made me feel better. I thought wow, here is a guy who is a rockstar, loved by millions and he never got the gap in his teeth fixed either. From that point I realized even with a gap in your teeth you can still smile, be an awesome person and still be loved and admired by people. I am 20 years older now and haven't been self conscious about it for over a decade. It's funny how just one little thing, like a music video can begin changing your perspective on life. It didn't take any therapy, self help books, or a happiness guru. It took Dan Baird rocking out telling us how he had to keep his hands to himself.
And, btw, doesn't sound dumb at all... I wish we all could have that experience early in life. Our looks aren't what we are. WE are what we are. The good, the bad, the ugly, all of it, lol. I met guys I thought weren't "good looking" that became so handsome the more I listened, learned, and got to know about them, same with female friends, etc. I hate that some people suffer so over their looks. @@bruceradz Thank you. Yes, I say 'never again' after losing my dogs. But I have had dogs all my life and my home, and mental health just aren't the same without one. I now have 2 rescue Border Collies, they are completely bonkers. One tries to stop the tide coming in and the other jumps in any car that's door is open, which really annoys my neighbours as he's usually just come off the beach covered in mud. But I love them to pieces and their funny quirks. Dogs are just perfect. All the best to you too. x
I only became aware of this band in lockdown, when I was unemployed, losing my mind and depressed as all hell - heard 'Battleship Chains' on a Southern Rock playlist on Spotfy and it was just what II needed, and I was hooked. This band should be way better known, such a perfect blend of twang and rock.
@AfonsoGeorge No. My 25 year old son loves 70’s and 80’s classic rock. He played “Keep Your Hands to Yourself” and told me how much he loves Georgia Satellites and I showed him the video and told him I used to listen to them when I was in high school. My husband, son and I had a great time listening to this on a road trip through southern Missouri.
I’m 37 but you’re still young my dude. Burn one and listen to these classic tunes for life. My family gets so sick of me always listening to music from 60s - 90s but it just doesn’t get better
First time i heard this album was 1987, and listened to it for years. Going through my albums recently i realised i hadnt listened to this for 30 years+, hasnt been off turntable since!
That’s vocal control, it isn’t an accident. What he’s doing is the same mechanism as yodelling. It’s incredibly hard to do, it requires years of practice and strong vocal chords to be able to control that sound.
Like this really rocking tune never these guys amazing perfect performance sounds awesome video perfect love this feel soo had to share this uk 💯🎤🎸🎸🎥⭐️👌🎼🏐🏐🥰
Australian pub rock gave us some fantastic bands like AC/DC, Cold Chisel, Rose Tattoo and a bunch of others. This here is what I like to think of as Pub Rock, American Style. Sweaty, beer drenched bar rock. Nothing better!
This entire album is underrated as hell. It’s traditional Southern Rock but with an edge that really set the tone for a lot of early to mid 90’s “new country” acts to follow. Found it in a vinyl pile for $1 last weekend, turned it up and rocked out.
Here in 2025! Passing this music (and then some) on to my kiddos who are 8 yrs. and 10 yrs. old rn. Gotta set em up for a future we can be proud of….starting with some awesome music! ✌🏼😁❤️
Oh yeah, here in '24. Caught up with this song late, off an old cd of Sweet Home Alabama. Great to hear guitar playing as good as The Calling version. Lit me up and now I'm on a journey into country rock!
This is the first song my husband and I ever danced to. We started dating not long afterwards. We'll celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary next month. ❤❤❤
Instantly my favorite song once i had heard it. About the same time when an ex GF and I had just broken up because she was in a hurry to get hitched and I wasn't...hell, i could barely afford to take care of myself back then. This song STILL one of my all time favorites..I love it!!!!
Just great - totally brightens my day to hear this throwback to the days when I was 22! (rather then the 58 I am now) I am slogging away here writing up Kijiji ads to rehome some of my more aggressive Demasoni Cichlids (and their numerous babies lol), a somewhat sad thing to have to do but essential to their survival at this point. And hearing this song (part of a mix so somewhat unexpected) makes me happy and less stressed and yes - makes me stop what I am doing to watch the whole awesome 1986 video. The hair! The clothes! The teenage girl with the chicken! (both raw and cooked lol) Thank You Georgia Satellites for creating a Classic!
Yea, remember my mom coming up with that line while talking very seriously to me many moons ago, I told her “maybe the cow isn’t for sale?!” She looked so shocked haha 👀! 😂
In the 90s I saw Dan Baird at Douglas Corner in Nashville. He was there several nights in a row and the night we went there were no more than 30 people there. The show was amazing. That dude could rip.
Heard this gem in my mix and even though i left a like it couldn't find it. From the intro i kind of remembered i googled," Got a little chain in my pocket gonna jiggle it a bit" and it worked haha. The real lyrics were, "I got a little change in my pocket goin' jing-a-ling-a-ling."

Love it! Wow, what a blast from the past. This song reminds me that it's been a while since I saw the movie "Sweet Home Alabama." This tune with that movie will always put you in a good mood.
GAWD, greatness that movie. Storyline and SONGS ARE TIMELESS
Good memories accompany this song
Such an amazing classic ivenjoyed this entire album...
Wild Eyed Southern Boys.A totally underated band.
Love this song! Saw them play at a bar in downtown Charleston (SC) and got their autographs! Fun time. :-)
Autograph books were great fun huh. Or did you get a signed serviette, coaster, body part... whaaaat? Crikey, where's Nancy, from the good old linked in days???? Naaaaaaancy, have you found Mr yet??? It would be great fun for us all to hear how life sorted out for you.

Q12 ITS UNIVERSAL GODS LOVE ACTUALLY
@@carolinegodden4364 They signed my cassette tape that I brought from home.
these were the good ol days when the music was the best from all the bands from the 60's thru the end of 70's
Pretty sure this was the 80's.
Every now and again there comes a good one this will be timeless
@@Wowzersdude-k5c Yep, 1987.
@@BillGraper yeah, hairstyles sometimes throw people off 🤣
Yeeeeeeeeees! Still holds all the Way! Havent thought about them for 30 years. Watching The Castellows yesterday brought me back to Georgia Satellites, Rush, The Cars, George Duke, ZZ, pasning The Dead South on the way back then - wonderful trip
Always loved this song and the way his voice breaks/yodels. I don't know what you call it, but he has a fantastic vocal tone.
All the best to you too. x
It's that Hank Snow nearly-yodelin' thang! Love it!
I can’t find the “11” on the volume dial. If ever there was a song that deserves it……
It’d be this one
If you need an 11, there's a Spinal Tap for that
Dan Baird wrote some great songs with the satellites and solo. He's vastly underrated!
True but he didn’t write this one
This tune resonates with me to this day; giving true meaning to a "shot gun wedding" rock on you all>
I'm 64 y/o (born 1960), and thought music was a lost art. Thank you ladies...it's not lost at all.
Glad to still be here .
I drove through rural Missouri with my 25 year old son listening to this banger. We had a blast!
John Cafferty & Beaver Brown would always play this whenever I saw them at the Stone Pony
This song still rocks after all theses years
1986 I was young 2022 now I'm just an old 69 year old pothead
great great classic soNg loVE IT
I’m 37 but you’re still young my dude. Burn one and listen to these classic tunes for life. My family gets so sick of me always listening to music from 60s - 90s but it just doesn’t get better
It really doesn't get any better than this jam.
Back in '86, this band had me tied down
with Battleship Chains
🎶⛓️🎸⚓🥁🤘😎
Nice pics☆
And a 40 ton anchor. Ha,the other song from them that I remember from way back then!
Wayne's world Wayne's world party time excellent
First time i heard this album was 1987, and listened to it for years. Going through my albums recently i realised i hadnt listened to this for 30 years+, hasnt been off turntable since!
I love how his voice breaks cause it's just some legit music and singing. song gets 1 thousand stars
That’s vocal control, it isn’t an accident. What he’s doing is the same mechanism as yodelling. It’s incredibly hard to do, it requires years of practice and strong vocal chords to be able to control that sound.
@@TripleXMango yeah Jack White is really good at it as well. Kurt Cobain was too. They’re all trained in making their voice not sound perfect.
What about the mullet 😏😏
No hugE no KissE! Just like my daughter says when I ask for hugs hahaah!
Falsetto
Love this song!! ❤ Amen
Who else was watching and listening to this on MTV in 1986!
💜💜💜still here.....thought I was 20 yrs old .....but really 62 omg !
I totally get you.
Great music!, loved it from first time hearing years ago 😂, Perfect church song 😂. I wanted to request it but I doubt that our pianist would know it 😂
Hell yes we here in 2024!!!

In the year 2025.
Georgia Satellites you guys are awesome.

Best bar band ever!!! Loved them✌️❤️🌼 I'm here well it was New Years's Eve 🤷♀️ now 2025 🎊🎉🥂✌️❤️🌼
Love his southern drawl accent I can relate but mine’s sweet~OK. 🤭 What a great song~vid!! 💃
♥️ 🎧 ♥️
Like this really rocking tune never these guys amazing perfect performance sounds awesome video perfect love this feel soo had to share this uk 💯🎤🎸🎸🎥⭐️👌🎼🏐🏐🥰
Seen these guys at Dapto leagues ( Australia) in the 80s love em they play like my favourite group STATUS QUO 😀
Australian pub rock gave us some fantastic bands like AC/DC, Cold Chisel, Rose Tattoo and a bunch of others. This here is what I like to think of as Pub Rock, American Style. Sweaty, beer drenched bar rock. Nothing better!
This song never gets old love ❤️ it❤
This entire album is underrated as hell. It’s traditional Southern Rock but with an edge that really set the tone for a lot of early to mid 90’s “new country” acts to follow. Found it in a vinyl pile for $1 last weekend, turned it up and rocked out.
This song always makes me smile.
Me too and makes me laugh😅👍 👌
Here in 2025! Passing this music (and then some) on to my kiddos who are 8 yrs. and 10 yrs. old rn. Gotta set em up for a future we can be proud of….starting with some awesome music! ✌🏼😁❤️
You guys are badass 😎 and great at jamming those guitars 🎸 👍
Oh yeah, here in '24. Caught up with this song late, off an old cd of Sweet Home Alabama. Great to hear guitar playing as good as The Calling version. Lit me up and now I'm on a journey into country rock!
Every man from 20 to 80 years old needs too listen to this at least once a month. That is for future reference, or just to bring up a fun memory. 🙂
This is the first song my husband and I ever danced to. We started dating not long afterwards. We'll celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary next month. ❤❤❤
The video is perfect for this classic.
I am 57 and its time to say don't give no lies and keep your hands to yourself ..jammin out 11 :40 pm
Instantly my favorite song once i had heard it. About the same time when an ex GF and I had just broken up because she was in a hurry to get hitched and I wasn't...hell, i could barely afford to take care of myself back then. This song STILL one of my all time favorites..I love it!!!!
Fantastic !! Thank you so much !!!
The line "That's when she told me a story 'bout free milk and a cow", puts a smile on my face. lol
That's gotta be one of the funniest lines ever 🤣😂
Yea, remember my mom coming up with that line while talking very seriously to me many moons ago, I told her “maybe the cow isn’t for sale?!” She looked so shocked haha 👀! 😂
In the 90s I saw Dan Baird at Douglas Corner in Nashville. He was there several nights in a row and the night we went there were no more than 30 people there. The show was amazing. That dude could rip.
One of the Best songs ever imop the vocals are Great and the Guitar is truly awesome get down Rock an Roll
Baby baby why you treat me this way 🎸 🎸 🎸 🥁 🪘, go man go 😊❤❤ 👍 👌, this song inever gets old-love it ❤😊❤ 👍 👌
"Back In The Day" remember this song, brings back Memories of that Era... 👍🎸🔊🎶
My old man that is 65 and I'm 61! aDang good one!😊
Give a break, these Guys are spot on 😊
O boy, I didn't expect that ending 😂😂😂😅. Funny 🤣
This song don't play. Charges in, says what it needs to say to make you groove and laugh, then charges out. Game over.
I wanna see you guys sings this live !!!🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵
Class of 1984
Thank you very much GOD bless Everyone Always Philadelphia USA 🇺🇸 Nostrovia 🙏🏥🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
