I listen to this song every day I come home from a long day of work in Manhattan. I kick off my shoe's, pop open a bottle of wine, lay across my sofa and chill. What more could I ask for? This is the perfect song to relax to. Great job Avant.
The two versions are great in my opinion. The greatest thing about Avant version of "Sailing" is that he paid tribute to Christopher Cross and brought the old song alive in the minds of the younger generation. This song died in the mid eighties but now, there's point of reference to the original artist(Christopher Cross) that such great song was from the 80s. Great job Avant, you brought it home to ballet/R&B format. I love it.
I love how the brother did this classic such justice. Kept it simple, yet threw in his soulfulness. A true musician recognizes where there is beauty in simplicity. Great singers also recognize when and when NOT to "blow". Respect

It always makes me cry...pain and hope all at once...”if the wind is right you can sail away into serenity”.....”its the dream and winds that carry me and soon I will be free”!!! Now I’m in love all over again and absolutely LOVE Avant’s remake!! This is on repeat on my playlist.
As a child my mother had a traveling medical field job so we moved around a lot, every couple months to be exact. We always drove to our next city sometimes it would be hours and sometimes It would be days en route. After praying for protection it always used to rain getting on the express way. She used to play this song all the time, looking out the window and hearing this with the rain and the freedom I had moving around is something I’ll never forget. Being in the middle of the Appalachian mountains away from civilization and being the only car on the road listening to this just me and my family. The feeling is quite indescribable, music is so magical and this song brings me back to the joy and wonder I had as a child. ❤️

It's so so reminds me of the mother of my 3 beautiful kids who passed on 2011. She was a dear friend,lover and soulmate. I MISS HER!!!
