I need to replace the gasket to the downpipe and at the top, both are leaking. Did you need a torch to get the nuts loose without breaking the studs? Any tips? Thanks.
So many questions. Im at the stage where everything is disconnected. Headers are still attached because its a nightmare (one header bolt is directly behind the turbo..in which needs to be removed lol) so the header stays. Cant be dropped from the bottom because subframe and axle in is in the way. Hitting downpipe and headers. Help.
Jermaine Coleman. Down pipe has to come completely off. Connects with clamps toward middle of under the car. First you take the down pipe nuts off. Pry it off the turbo mani and get it out. Take turbo bolts off. 3 17mm on top of the header(turbo manifold) take out. Two Allen bolts 6 mm bracket on the block under the turbo take off those two bolts. Take off oil and water lines and turbo inlet pipe. Should drop down after that. Then use wrench for the hard to reach bolts on the header manifold. The top ones you can use deep socket and ratchet. Take things off step by step.
I’m in the process of building one of these I love ‘em.
Pulled on from the junkyard. This video helped a lot. Thank you! It was a bitch to get out but it took me an hour
