As a white South African, I was brought up to see him as a troublemaker, a poisonous and evil person. My thinking was not the fault of my parents, but the result of the Nationalist propaganda machine in those days. Once I researched the person, Desmond Mpilo Tutu, I realised that this was a unique individual, with a capacity for fairness I could only dream of. His passing is a loss, not only for South Africa, but for the world in general. RIP people's hero.
