Great reaction. 'Brand New Day' is almost 5 years old. It was on BABYMETAL's Metal Galaxy album released in 2019. It is certainly one of BABYMETAL's more 'chill' songs ... but as you are finding, they do everything.
That's one reason their collaborations all work so well as they are so versatile they can do pretty much whatever style and match up with whoever they are collaborating with.
Polyphia are a mainly instrumental prog Rock band from Texas. Tim Henson and Scott le Page provided and recorded the guitar tracks for the original recording of the song, so when Polyphia was confirmed on the bill for Fox_Fest (arranged, hosted and headlined by BABYMETAL in Tokyo) we all had a good idea of what would happen.🎸🎸
Fox_Fest was the first chance they all had to meet up and to finally do this very first live performance with them all together.
Polyphia had already played their set earlier in the evening, so the crowd knew who Scott and Tim were when they came back for this song.
They did it together again at Graspop Festival in Belgium since this, I'm not sure if they've had the chance anywhere else yet.

    3:18 Reaction start.
Welcome back to the Foxhole and now going back to Metal Galaxy era.🦊🤘🌅
Metal Galaxy is a wonderful album and full of surprises, you're gonna find many more like this with more mature sound, it came out in 2019 so isn't so new but is one of the songs with more mature sound.
The album version got the collaboration of Polyphia guitarists, Tim Henson (short hair on the right) and Scott LePage (long hair on the left), and it's quite clear in the solo section. Polyphia got a viral clip when they were performing live and having an issue with the drummer IEM not working and a roadie helped him out in an unorthodox way to save the show, very funny clip.
Their songs are mainly instrumental but i think they got some collabs with famous singers but don't quote that on me, what is for sure they got mad skills playing instruments.
Tim Henson also said when listening to this song that he would love to play this along with BabyMetal on the stage, he didn't know the final cut when he was doing the riffs on this song.
The dance on this song is beautiful and graceful, they're showing another mature side and more complicated choreography. According to MoaMetal is the hardest song to dance along with BxMxC and Night Night Burn iirc.
Song is inspired by certain "City Pop" band and Utada Hikaru songs, when SuMetal heard this she doubt about this being a metal song but then the guitars solo were added and all make senses suddenly.
Finally we got them together on stage and with this awesome live performance, it is their first time performing together.
They did it again last week at Graspop Festival in Belgium and they hug each other at the end just like in this version only thing it was cut out, there's also a proshot clip but I'm not so sure about the sound mix.
Along with RATATATA this was definitely one of the highlights at FOX_FEST and a lot of Japanese fans were looking for, I guess that cool slow pace city pop element gives some nostalgia and that's why many fans love it.
In a recent interview, Tim and Scott talked about a new song in their upcoming album along with BM, let's see what they got but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be something real good like this one.
Keep enjoying BM songs and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥

Good one! This is an amazing vibe and an old collab from 2019, but this is the first time they performed it live! Song is from Metal Galaxy, their 3rd album. Do check out Polyphia as well, they are an instrumental band from Texas and has a very "blues-y/R&B/groovy" vibe, with extremely technical guitar playing. Check out "Playing God", and "Ego Death ft. Steve Vai".
Also, with how you do your reactions, just do your thing man. Don't take what some people say to heart, some folks are just too nit-picky. Do your thing brother, you've been a great reactor!

Considering this was the first time they played together it was so incredibly tight especially the stops, so damn "COOL"!😀

    👍
Easily one of my favorite BABYMETAL songs.
Yes Tim and Scott's instrumentals are a driving force here but for me it is Suzuka's stunning vocal performance and Moa and Momo's beautiful backing vocals that seal it.
Suzuka once again proves that (in my opinion) she is the most versatile and talented female singer today. She just loves to sing and it shows.

I have been waiting for this live performance for years. Tim is on the right in the white shirt, Scott is on the left with the long hair. If you want to check out more chill BM songs, I would suggest Time Wave and Light and Darkness, both Live at PIA Arena 2023. Both are off the latest album.
