- John Hancock was a pianist that heard some game music and thought “I could do that”. He started out struggling to type music in assembly and evolved into a dubby techno powerhouse, far from his home base of “piano”. Today, we’re looking at this journey.

I am a piano guy and this video gave me chills. He is definitely overlooked. His music should be highly appreciated by multiple generations. Such a talented man. Inspiring me to go for the long game regardless the outcome.
I love the Mercury games. It's unfortunate he shares his name with not only a famous US revolutionary war figure, but also other composers. I hope this video shines light on him. May he rest in peace.

Could you feature "Kevin Collier"? He worked mostly on the Amiga, for Firebird and some Psygnosis, I think he's underrated, he was able to make generic rock sound amazing (Harley-Davidson) as well as make the most brutally intense music for the Amiga (Savage).

I would have never thought he was the composer of Barcelona '92 *and* Mercury, which I have both played! It makes me happy that Mercury's music got praised that much by the people he worked for, he definitely deserved recognition for such a titanic job.

I had to do a double take when I saw World Cup USA was running in Swedish, it's weird that a game about football in America would even have that option

John composed one of my favourite OSTs on the Sega Mega Drive, Lillehammer '94 - I love that game, and the music is a massive part of it. I have the Biathlon theme stuck in my head right now!

I found his son's channel, and from there, found a comment with the news.
