I remember this great song from the "olden days", as my kids would say. Lovely to hear again and to see the kitsch video too! They go well together. Thank you.
The superb Maureen Evans. Very akin to dance of the hours. Great video, as always, sir Basil. The only "Embassy" artist that made it independently - on Oriole records who, incidentally pressed and distributed " woolies " embassy records.
The best singing voice of the 1960s. My favorite singer of all time, actually. My top four favorite singers are Maureen Evans, Edna Savage, Ruby Murray, and Jill Day.

Did she find Jeoffrey Hardy in there ? Did that lake have any alligators ? Did she get malaria ? Is it me or is Hello Mudda Hello Fadda been brought to mind ?? On a serious note... Stunning film clip and wonderful music

I don't know who first put words to 'Dance of The Hours', but I'm glad they did. I didn't know Oriole provided the Embassy records to Woolworths.
...and I originally had this video clip set to Kay Barry's Embassy version.
Beatles loved her as I do. She was Welsh but was always in Liverpool.
Lived in Tyr Winch Rd St Mellons Cardiff for a while
YET ANOTHER SIXTIES CLASSIC WHICH HARDLY EVER COMES UP ON UTUBE OR ANY OTHER OLDER MUSIC CHANNEL SHE WAS VERY WELL KNOWN DONT FORGET 🤬
Pleased to help out with this great song.
Remembering the Welsh Valleys version “Like What I Does”

Yes, very much a singer's singer. I do have a wonderful song from Ruby Murray posted.
Hi Sir, how are you? I’m very
sad. Chile 🇨🇱 is in chaos. Thank you for your music, it’s my biggest company
Celena, it's very sad to hear about the bad things going on in Chile. Heartening to hear you find something positive on this channel.
One of the best singers of the sixties
...I can see you're really enjoying this one.
Love it better than music today.
..me too.
One of my favourite singers ever.
Yes, Maureen is a singer's singer.
I saw her live recently at a Talking Pictures tv live show. I do really like this song.
..interesting, pity I missed that.
Do you know if there is a video or audio if she did an interview?

She was at Monmouth savoy theatre for the Talking pictures show
@@triggerman1970 Yeah that's where I saw her.
A lovely song by a fantastic singer.
..truly.
Lovely song and video
Thank you.
Brings back lovely memories. I alway thought the tune was very similar to ‘Dance of the Hours’.
Pleased to hear that. Yes, it's 'Dance of the Hours'.
Also used for Hello Mudder, Hello Farder, US new recruit at Camp Granada, writing home! ❤ XXX
@@cajsheen2594 Probably how most people know this tune.

Thanks, 😀 and you'd hope Jane Chaman was being wary of what she was sharing her bath with. Yes, the song is better known as Mudda...Fadda.
She had a beautiful voice
...truly.
Thank you Sir Bazza.
A pleasure. Thanks for the visit.
Nobody accredits Amilcare Ponchielli for the inspirational music.
Alas, I doubt many know of A.P. I am fond of "Dance of the Hours", though.
I only heard this song for the first time about 5 minutes ago, it sounds a hell of a lot like Allan Sherman's hello muddah hello faddah.
...I think they both borrowed Ponchielli's "Dance of the Hours".
I just thought the same thing, immediately. 😂
Much more elegant than twerking. And more enjoyable.
...a healthy outdoor activity.
that’s one of my auntie 😎
Nice! A wonderful singer...I'm impressed.
@@SirBasildeBrush she’s not fully related she’s my aunties auntie idk if that makes sense-
SHE’S A DISTANT COUSIN OF MINE OMG
Musically rather similar to Hello Muddah Hello Faddah!
...very.
@@SirBasildeBrush "All the good music has already been written by people with wigs and stuff."
@@bluefandango ..to be frank.
Both songs use the melody “Dance Of The Hours” from Ponchielli’s opera “La Giaconda”.
What was all that about 😂
...not entirely sure.😉
