Welcome to SirBasildeBrush! Here you'll find music I love from the late fifties and early sixties. Nearly all the music is from my personal collection, amassed since childhood. There are some well-known songs and instrumentals, but many more that are not so well known (but just as good). There are beautiful ballads, teeners, popcorn, R&B, uptempo doo-wop, crossover country, early soul - all helped along by plenty of instrumentals. Thanks for dropping by.
Grady Chapman - Tell Me That You Care
A beautifully sweet and soulful song from Grady Chapman (aka Jackie Walker?) with "Tell Me That You Care".

Its songs like this when i miss my husband who passed away three years ago ..Til We Meet Again ❤ x
Those doo-wop tones are like a floating serenade under the warm glow of the sun. Magic as ever sirbasil 😊
The video is more beautiful by your selection this song. It must have been cold for her to film that morning on the Île de la Cité. Thank you ♪
Ein großer Song und ein wunderschöner, sehr ästhetischer Videoclip! Der Mercedes 300 SL, das vielleicht schönste Auto, das je gebaut wurde! Dankeschön für's Teilen! ❤
Another gem Sir keep them coming please
Thanks - never quite know what the next one will be.
❤☀️⚘😁👍🎶🎧
Thank you.
You have a God given gift 🙏❤👌👍❤🙏
Thank for the kind words - very much appreciated. Enjoy this wonderful song.
Beautiful Sir !
......truly! Thanks, as always.
😱
😄
beautiful voice
...truly.
Love this song and a clever take on Ricky’s Travelin’ Man. For the life of me I can’t remember the name of this movie. Can anyone help me. Thanks
Delighted to see this posting have some attention. The movie is "Sabrina" (1954).
@ Thank you!
tricky song!
...fortunately Van and Lucille are up to the challenge.
Thank you very much for this gem 💎. Brook Benton is one of my big favourites ❤❤❤. For me, this version is the best. The clip is also amazing 👏 . Thank master❤❤❤❤ Happy New Year and all the best to you❤
Thanks for the enthiastic welcome for this posting - my favourite version, too. Brook Benton has done quite a few of my favourite songs.
A great song, excellent version with a nice arrangement!
Yep, love it. Alas, the best recording I could find.
They don't make 'em like this anymore. Thanks as always Sir B de B.
Always a pleasure - enjoy this quaint little rocker.
A great version, as expected, by great artists. Van Johnson, an artist capable of doing anything well in the cinema.
You've gotta like this one, and Van and Lucille do a great job in the video. I was watching Van as the Pied Piper of Hamelin, yesterday.
brilliant version with some fabulous orchestration there Sir Basil, and in my opinion way ahead of its time as its still as fresh as a daisy, many thanks.
It's a real music treat. A song I just have to tap along to.
brillant music
...truly, an absolute gem.
Dziękuję SirBasil..za następną piosenkę, pozdrawiam serdecznie..❤😁👍🎶🎧
Always a pleasure - enjoy!
In the UK Shakey Stevens and Bonnie Tyler did a good Version of this song ..Than in s for the upload ..All the Best to You for 2025 ❤
Thanks...I'd forgotten about that one. Just watched their video - great version. Not so sure about the 80s fashion, though😊
Top Sir thank for the sharing good Sunday 👍👍👍❤️
Thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
@SirBasildeBrush thank Sir 👍❤️
Seems like Freddy was on Bandstand at least once a week back in the day!!! 🎉
Hats off to Freddy!
Super
Delighted - thank you.
Got to love it.
The keyboard player could've sat in with the doors. Very hip arrangements..
As a Brit , Bruce 1988 the tunnel of love tour this was played as part of the what was called the walk up music score, it captured the atmosphere of a fairground scene in jersey , later on when i discovered asbury park on my many trips to the states and its fantastic people, that mural of tillie creates this song for me ,my great aunt who worked at AVRO's in chadderton manchester on Lancaster Bombers remembers freddy cannon in his early years , so this song captures it for me , God bless America
So…we all watched Foe and came running?😅😊
Aubrey was such a Goddess!
How are you my friend? Please, Does this video belong to a movie?
This is a clip from the movie "Neptune's Daughter". I have edited the dancing, and dubbed this music over that which Xavier Cugat and Orchestra are actually performing.
@@SirBasildeBrush Thanks my friend - fantastic work
Years ago you did a similar video to this ones about a shadow. It featured Gene. So, wish I could find it. I used to play it everyday. Thanks for your brilliant posts keeping historic magical music alive.
So delighted you remembered that one! It was The Chaperones singing "My Shadow And Me". Alas, that posting was blocked in 2019 for copyright infringement in the video clip I used from "Cover Girl". I might gave it another go, but with a lower resolution black and white posting.
Cmon Apple Music
❤Lovely thank you 😊
Thanks, nice to have this see some attention.
I’m here because I heard it on Family Guy.
....still haven't caught up with that episode.
I still have the record!
- nice...hang onto it!
I like this recording a lot. Joe Melson co-wrote "Crying" with Roy Orbison.
Yes, Mr Melson was important in defining the Orbison style.
What a Fantastic Song by Anita Bryant and a Sweet Video. I love this Popcorn Oldie `s 💖💖💖 Thank You my Friend .
Delighted to read you're enjoying this posting so much. Many thanks, as always.
The golden oldie movies.👍👍👍
I was listening to the song quietly, and suddenly I saw the puppet strings, puppets on a planet... and now I only think about who is pulling the strings? I had a boss who said it was bad to think...
If you born in the sixties in the UK - and probably more so if you were male - these puppets were a formative part of your childhood.
@@SirBasildeBrush I remember Thunderbirds, which have a similar aesthetic, and my mother bought me a comic book with a die-cut cover of a ship from the series. But in Spain, I think it arrived in the 70s. I don't know, there was no television in my house when I was born.
@@jesusfernandezgarcia9449 This and other puppet sci-fi series like Stringray ruclips.net/video/nYNP-RdPv5g/видео.html peaked with "Thunderbirds". Sounds like a generation of children in Spain missed out !
@ We missed a lot of things, but we were the kings of the street...
Elon Musk's favorite song probably...
...almost certainly already subscribed 😅
The music is always excellent, but I hope the costume designer has been fired... to a galaxy far, far away.
I believe they're sporting maple leaves - so perhaps a patriotic Canadian costume designer.
"'Cause we're all.. woahhh chained to the rhythm..." vibes.
That was beautiful! It was a romantic dream that takes you off your feet and as close to Heaven as you can get on Earth. <3
Nice words, and delighted this one touches others as much it does me. Thank you.
@@SirBasildeBrush You're welcome, Basil. Thank you!
@@SirBasildeBrush You're welcome!
Say no more Brilliant love you Johnny Burnette
Delighted - enjoy!
Merci pour ce partage et votre vidéo. Évidemment ça ne le rappelle aucun souvenir car comme vous dites si j'ai bien compris il s'agit du générique d'une série télévisée La voix est assez douce Jolie découverte
Yes, you really had to be (a boy) growing up in the sixties to enjoy this one.
@@SirBasildeBrushet je suis une fille née dans les années 50 !! Merci tout de même
Love this! Lovely memories, still makes me smile 😊 Thank you Sir!
Delighted - so nice to know others share warm memories of this, too.
Love this one.....yet again, another I've never heard before. You must have an endless supply somewhere! Thanks Sir B de B.
Thanks, and delighted to surprise you with this gem. I'm amassing music faster than I can post..
@SirBasildeBrush Got to ask, how do you find them all?
@@saragarratt4397 Well....I do spend a lot of time listening for the next gem - large vinyl/CD collection plus online digital music providers like Amazon Music. Nowadays, it's often a film clip I start with. Here, though, it was the song first - then looking around for suitable clips - which are from the first eight episodes of Fireball XL5.
Wow, what great comments everybody getting along, no haters. It's all gone now, nothing but good memories.
Finally I took a listen 01/16/2025. I thought of this song on the first begging day of the fire. I had no idea how many people have recorded this tune. I think the writer and first pro former was Chuck Barris of the Gong Show. True ?
I read that write Chuck Barris sang this over the phone to the record company - who immediately bought it.
