This is a real band. I saw them in Bordeaux France, summer 1991 with the orchids. They don't care about money, image,or any of that crap. A rare breed.
Somehow after all these years, the RUclips algorithm left me this rare treat! I’m a big fan from Detroit (yes, there are at least two dozen of us) and to see this live footage means a lot to me. Thanks for all of the great music, the Field Mice are legendary, to those who know.
In response to queries regarding setlist, it went : This is Not Here/Coach Station Reunion/New Pop Song*/Below The Stars/Quiet and Loud*/Five Moments/Star of David/New Song*/Of The Perfect Kind . Obviously some of that isnt on the video. There was an encore, we were going to play the Loop cover version, but Harvey was insistent given we had already split up before this gig, that the last song we played wasnt going to be a cover version so we played End Of The Affair instead, after which Michael walked over to the mike and said " The End " and err that was the end. * These three songs were new and were not recorded by The Field Mice. I have a recording of the third song on tape somewhere which we had a stab at in The Northern Picture Library, but never released, for obvious reasons.
I was at this gig. It was brilliant if a little subdued. I do remember being slightly disappointed they didn’t play Emma’s House, Canada or If I Needed Someone. The Field Mice were never predictable.
It's so lovely to see this. By the time i found them, the field mice had been and gone (I spent most of their career in the wilds of west wales). It's such a shame.
Mon groupe de "charrette" lorsque j'étais étudiant en école d'archi.... Mon groupe lorsque je suis en manque de bonne musique... Mon groupe de cœur quoi.....
49135 (RUclips) It was provisionally titled " Quiet and Loud " , primarily because it was quiet and then loud, so those of us in the band who had limited musical ability could recognise it on the set list. We played it most nights on this last tour. Though technically this gig was a few weeks after the tour had ended, and also a few weeks after we had split up. We only did it because contractually we didn't have much choice.
@@MrChipfireball I have been listening to that song for years, its in my favorite list and I keep it as some hidden gem I often go back to, too intimate to be shared or played in public in most circumstances. I'm just reading about your comment and can't believe i have been answered years ago by someone from the actual band. Please let us know if you have published other recordings ever since, it would make many people happy (or happy to be sad) around here ! Wishing you the best in general :)
Probably the most underrated band of that era.
Fantastic work.

Mon groupe de cœur quoi.....
Filmed by Dave Harris.
Thanks for the information. I didn't know that. I had it on my hard drive and I can't remember how I got it.
God bless Dave Harris whoever that is!
Amazing
The Field Mice never really needed to split. Bobby Wratten has a habit of repackaging himself under new names but doing comparable work.
song list, anyone?
could someone please create a setlist?! Would be great for Field Mice-beginner listeners
at 20:03 i'm 17 and in love again
Harvey looks so young here! But didn't we all, I guess...
setlist??
setlist?
which song starts at 18:50 please ?
Thanks for sharing too!

MrChipfireball The gig that is, not the song. We were not contractually obliged to play that.
