I lived in Louisville. I've been to Waverly Hills a few times. Before there were tours or even security guards. Unfortunately I never experienced anything paranormal. We were a group of about 6 or 7 once and they were acting all scared and I picked up a rock and held onto it for a few. When no one was paying attention I tossed it into some rubbish and it made a loud thump. This prompted the entire group to jump, scream, and run back to the car. Good times.
My grandmother died in Waverly Hills. I'm not scared of the building been up there day or night. I'm hoping to see her beauty brought and a hotel would be awesome!! Death tunnel was an amazing experience. I've got a few pictures of my great aunt friend up there.
Turning an asylum into a 4 star hotel...are they trying to recreate the shining in real life? Because that's how you recreate the shining in real life.
I don't know I guess the owners think it will bring more profit mixed in with the history, just about everyone that lives in IN & KY knows about Waverly Hill's.
We've been doing urban exploring as a hobby for a couple years now, and have been in 3 asylums so far, they can be pretty spooky places if they're dark inside but very cool to explore!
I just want to thank you for saying; 'Before mental illnesses was somewhat understood'. Sure there is a lot more acceptance for mental illnesses now, but there is still a lot people don't understand. I myself suffered from depression and anxiety for almost ten years and was always told 'to pull myself together' by non-medical/non-psychologist people! Also just wanted to tell you that I really enjoy your video and have been binge watching them this afternoon and evening.

tactical axe Peace. That's something to do with the satan who's whispering to your soul. It's said that if the soul could get the world and everything in it, it would still not be satiated, so but you can feed it with good things (charity, thankfulness etc.) or bad things (like remorse, indulging in lustful desires etc.) andwe should train ourselves, so it doesn't rule us and our actions. Keeping people awake at night when they should be sleeping is a common problem caused by the satans which are with us. We should (me included) learn to 'clean' our desires, by making rules and being firm! May Allah guide us and protect us from the evil of satan and the evil of our own selves, and may he forgive our sins. Peace :)
i've been to the waverly hills because i wanted to go for my birthday. here's some of me and my friend's experiences: -she saw a shadow person -smelled weird perfume/cologne from out of nowhere in one of the rooms -on the fifth floor a pregnant nurse was found hanging from the ceiling, either after killing herself or potentially being murdered. i was standing right under the light fixture from which she was hanging (i didn't know where she was hung when i first decided to stand there), and i started feeling weird pains and cramps in my lower abdomen -my friend started feeling sick and dizzy in the electroshock therapy room, and we both felt extremely disturbed and sick in the operating room -i personally saw what might have been an apparition, i'm not sure, but we were taking pictures and when the flash went off, i saw a man standing with an evil grin on his face, hands behind his back in a wide stance. he was gone when i got the flashlight back on again (we were using our phones for flashlights and pictures). not sure if it was a trick of the mind but it looked WAY too specific to just be that. and yeah i can't think of anything else
Ive been to pennhurst, it's definitely a scary place. They've turned into a haunted attraction for Halloween, but one of the buildings, the mayflower hall, isn't used to scare you but rather show you what things looked like. I've been touched and caught a child's face behind me in a picture I took in there.

Why did I watch this rt before bed? Ugh! And it doesn't help that I live in Louisville, KY. Notably, 502 also happens to be Louisville's area code. ~chills~
i also live in louisville, and i'll admit that the room 502 thing is pretty creepy, but i also have a strong admiration for anything paranormal, so it doesnt bother me too much.
THANK YOU for adding clips. Makes it so much better. Dude. America is so fucked. We are always sprawled all on these lists in general. Usually bad shit. Worst prisons, closed and open. Worst treatment mental asylums. Lol. Worst serial killers. I'm moving.
You should consider the fact that America is the first world country with the largest population. Russia has around a 1/3rd of the US's population yet it has a much larger, darker history than the US (not just because it's older) with many cases of serial killers & mistreated patients in insane asylums going undocumented.
There are many factors to why America occurs more often on these clips. Most countries will have similar stories about hauntings within prisons and asylums. English plays an important part, if you speak French or Spanish or Japanese you will be able to find clips. If the guy from Top5 wants to spends years going through every countries clips, and hoping google translate is doing a decent job.......You also need to take into account religious approaches to death. Many countries have belief systems of spirits existing, spirits are just there, without people' scientific questioning. Do not disturb or question the dead, Ghost Adventures in Venice highlighted this. Ghost hunters international made me laugh, often asking questions in English whilst in Eastern Europe. Plus it is popular in the States (you commercialised Halloween), you have countless numbers of investigators. From S.Korea to Argentina they all have their stories, but Americans do love a cover-up :-) (more UFO sightings than all other countries put together, many occurring during and after the cold war). More and more clips are coming in from around the world, in time this Top5 will change. The sound that was caught in Old Changi hospital (Singapore) of British soldiers talking (one with a distinct Yorkshire accent) always sends a chill through my spine.
I do agree. My aunt and uncle live in a fancy house near an abandoned asylum, and seeing as there was no available parking spots in their drive way when I visited them last time, I had to park my car next to one of the asylum buildings and then walk down their long driveway. When I got there it was a sunny day so it wasn't bad, but when I went back.. It was dark outside, their driveway is surrounded by trees and it has no lights. I only had my flashlight on my phone and was walking on a creepy driveway to an even creepier asylum. Would not recommend.
Call me crazy, but I love watching horror or paranormal stuff at night times yes it creeps me out but I like the thrill. You cant watch scary stuff at day times it just wired night time only..
That's not crazy. What might be crazy is that this stuff doesn't give me a thrill. It makes me feel warm and cozy, particularly with all the lights off, and a storm raging or the wind howling outside.
I just wanna say because I feel like no one else will Mental institutions ( in the US at least ) now a days are perfectly safe and nothing to be frightened of. They are there to help you and evaluate you like any other doctor or medical hospital. They have a disturbing past yes. But times have changed and so has medicine.
Im keeping track of the top 5 most haunted videos and down the names of the places so I can tell the ghost adventures about them so they can put those in to their episodes.
ill try to get a hold of aaron goodwin when i can cause i know him more than anyone else plus ive met him at the comic-con in portland. so ill keep you posted when i get a hold of him. sound good?
Austin Claiborne GAC have been to all of these. I would love them to investigate Chillingham Castle in Northumberland here in the UK. The most haunted castle in England after the tower of London.
I am binge watching these top 5 videos!! They are absolutely amazing. So interesting and cool info. His calming voice also make the scarier ones a lot more bearable
Yeah I know, it just makes the video a bit more interesting :) I did include a Ghost adventures clip for the Trans Allegheny but I had a Copywrite claim so had to quickly take it out!
Top5s please be very careful when it comes ghost hunting in fact if you believe in God almighty and his word the bible its actually demon hunting you see satan and his demons trick people into thinking that it is a loved one they are talking with in Deuteronomy 18:10_12 there shall not be found among you anyone who maketh his son or daughter to pass through the fire or that uses divination or an observer of times or an enchanted or a witch,or a charmer,or a consulter with familiar spirits,or a wizard or a necromancer for all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord. Also Ecclesiastes 9:5_6 says the living know that they shall die but the dead know not any thing neither do they have any more of a reward or anything that is done under the sun anymore.you see satan and his demons trick people into thinking that it a loved one they are talking with if you sayounce to call up the dead or use a quioboard once you open that door only God almighty can shut it. Calling up the dead or necromancer which is talking to the dead its an abomination to the Lord God. Demons use mediums and psychics to talk with they think they are talking to someone loved one but in fact its demons tricking people when one dies without the forgiveness of sins and without the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour they are going to hell not my words but Gods words
***** i love ghost adventures their has been a couple episodes were nothing happend and this one episode were they go to that one house that girl was creepy
I live not too far from Waverly Hills Sanatorium and looked into the history of it off and on. It's got a lot of dark history surrounding it. He didn't fully explain why the nurse of 502 hung herself because he didn't have time. The nurses back then would work days on end shifts, the nurse that hung herself got pregnant by a Doctor there out of wedlock and that at the time was considered taboo. The other nurse who through herself actually from the roof had contracted TB and didn't want to go through what the patients had to go through. The creepiest very well known active spirit is one of the Doctors that did heinous experiments on patients, contracted TB and died in the hospital, so he walks the 3rd floor and several people claim to see him pushing an operating table. AHS and several shows have used stories from Waverly for episodes.
Don't forget the homeless guy and his dog that were murdered in the elevator and now haunt the (I believe) 2nd floor. He shows up for the tours occasionally wearing a trench coat that he was known by the security people to wear when he was alive. And Timmy who was a child TB patient who died there, that will play with a toy ball through the hallways.
I hate ghost adventures. They scream and act like "omg did u hear that" and scream out "dude no way!!!" They Re so loud and they aren't quiet or let the audience listen to and hear what the recordings say. U always hear them scream out the second they hear a noise or a sound it's so annoying
Manuel Rodriguez The Problem with GAC is, that the Show has become Stagnant for YEARS.. S1 was great.. no doubt.. S2.. well ok, but after S3 it got waaaaay worse .. and what you said , every god damn fucking time they have to say "DID YOU HEAR THAT" .. like.. no shit man. Wished they would stop with that and just stfu and record it.. man if i had the money, i would create another Ghost Team and smash GAC away.. also.. GAC doesnt intend to help the Ghosts passing over.. they just want the best rating to keep going on.
What I don't understand is if you find a rat with its neck broken and a large bloody hand print above the rat on the wall, why not get photo's for evidence? You can say this and that happened or you seen or heard something, but evidence is the key.
you just can't trust peoples accounts on this kind of thing. you will have to experience it yourself to draw or come to your own conclusions / understandings about it.
it's because spirits absolutely refuse to be revealed to the world you have to encounter them personally and there can only be a small number of people which honestly I think that is true
I find it slightly ironic that whenever The Atlantic Paranormal Society, TAPS of "Ghost Hunters" fame, is brought up on this channel, it's typically with a footnote making mention that some people dislike them on claims that they fake their findings -- yet whenever the "Ghost Adventures" crew are brought up, despite them having been accused of much the same sort of behavior (arguably with greater validity, given their reckless thrill-seeker style, weak methodology and tendency to jump to conclusions and overreact to their own findings), they're given the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure personal taste comes into play here, of course, and the narrator's welcome to have his own preferences on the matter -- it's just something that I've noticed, and that sticks out to me every time it comes up, so I felt it prudent to mention it.
@@inaaronshead7331 They also have a great deal less credibility in their methodology. I've actually gotten my hands on some of the exact same gear the _Ghost Adventures_ team uses (their engineering buddy lives about an hour up the highway from me, and isn't exclusive about who he'll sell to), and the data it gives is so inconsistent that I can't honestly say that the team's 'findings' aren't just random digital noise that seems to resolve into a pattern; their famous Structured Light Sensor, for instance, keeps returning human figures from textured walls and stucco ceilings, so it's plausible that the old Kinect camera hardware it was based on is just 'finding' a figure in what it sees as static. (And speaking of static, their older Spirit Boxes are so pointlessly _loud_ that they arguably drown out _actual_ audible phenomena, just so Zak et al. can freak out over a snippet of a late-night radio station they caught on the radio.) There'd be no need to call out fakery, when the results being touted arguably aren't real to begin with.
@@Nitrinoxus difference is your basing opinion and hearsay above evidence of fakery. TAPS Ghost Hunters are way over reacting, but you fail to mention that. Also GH selects everything as paranormal, at least GA actually tries and does debunk stuff.
@@inaaronshead7331 I'm afraid you've got that last part backwards. Sure, the _Ghost Adventures_ crew debunks stuff _now,_ but it wasn't that long ago that they saw dust motes and small insects on their IR cams and insisted they were orbs; conversely, _Ghost Hunters_ operated by the mantra of 'Disprove the normal before conceding the existence of the paranormal' -- the logic being that by removing everything that could be explained away by conventional means (faulty electrics, settling buildings, drafts, etc.), you'd be left with only the findings that _can't_ be easily explained, which are more likely to be genuinely paranormal in nature.
@@Nitrinoxus yeah it's obvious that you have your blinders on for GH. I watched both series since day one and you have it so spun out the ass it's not worth debating with you.
Some people have a Career, in Paranormal Investigating. So, you're not the only one. I personally, have experienced Demons at my own home. Ghosts are Demons. And I can say, they're not fun. So, think about it. It has its perks, but consequences as well.
I've actually been to Pennhurst before! (Posting this comment as soon as I heard him say 'Pennhurst' without hearing what else he has to say). There's always a Halloween attraction where actors dress up in creepy costumes and scare visitors. And then there's an area where you just walk through the building and get a tour. One worker told me he was locking up the buildings alone one night, and as he was walking through the halls, he could hear distinct foreign footsteps. When he stopped walking the footsteps would also stop. He started walking again and the footsteps began again. He stopped once more as the footsteps also stopped. When he started walking again the footsteps had disappeared. It couldn't have been someone playing a prank since he was locking up the building and he would've seen the person as he was doing so.
What about the Wittenau Sanitarium near Berlin? Creepy stuff happened there, back in 1945 the dead rose out of their graves and overran 4 soldiers inside the sanitarium.
I have been to Waverly Hills Sanatorium! It was scary AF. Imagine going from 10:00 pm to 12:00 pm at night. Me and this one other guy saw a big dark shadow in a spot where we couldn't go. I still get the chills.
I would also like to, since after watching Grave Encounters back in 2011 haunted asylums have been my favorite ghost related thing, but I still think I wouldn't have the balls to go through with it unless I was with a large group of people.
It's midnight. I'm watching this. I look outside, 2 glowing eyes outside my window. There was a raccoon looking at me through my window. God dammit, raccoon, almost gave me a heart attack. Good video, Top5!
This guy is from South Wales, it's not a strong accent but it's there, it's not a taffy accent, like a valley accent or anything like that, it is a Cardiff or Barry accent.
I went to the rolling hills around Halloween I enjoyed exploring the creepy hall ways it’s easy to get turned around in there it’s actually bigger than it appears but in my opinion there were certain things that can be explained but others not so much the history was the most eerie and creepy thing about it...the tour guide did a session with me and my friends because we were skeptical let’s just say we weren’t disappointed I would advise cleansing candles when visiting these places 🙏🏽
I live in Canada and I'm a paranormal investigator and I've just discovered this video. The voice of the child saying "that would be evil" gave me head to toe goose bumps and my cat started looking around as if she had heard something strange. Very odd
Me and some friends managed to get into Whittingham before it was completely demolished. Whilst there I had a constant feeling of dread, like I was being watched - It's a terrifying yet exciting experience. If anyone is contemplating doing some urban exploring in an abandoned asylum, then I recommend it (Just try not to get caught). It's an experience you will never forget :)
Ohh my God! I Really like your channel! And i think many others do! Keep going! your channel will grow fast enough! All this issue's - subject's you showing-up are very interesting! and you produce very well each of them!
I live very close to the Rolling Hills Asylum... I went there this past summer with my mother and Aunt. I can personally tell you that it is haunted. Me in particular of our group felt very sad throughout and even had a successful EVP session with the patient "Roy".
Pennhurst is a really interesting, yet sad place. I've had the opportunity to read some patient files and so many of those poor people were completely abandoned by their families and spent the majority of their lives there. Many of the patients called female staff members and visitors "mom". Most staff members tried their best but the facility was plagued by underfunding and understaffing from the very beginning. It was a sad, impossible situation.
Ghosts are such trolls. Why don't they spend less time peaking around corners in photos when one is alone, and emphasizing missing limbs, and saying creepy things? They should spend more time coming out right in front of you and be like "Whoa whoa whoa, dudes chill okay? I'm a fucking ghost, look at me I'M DEAD! How about you take me somewhere where scientists can see whatsup?" :b Silly ghosts -.-

Call me crazy, but I love watching horror or paranormal stuff at night times yes it creeps me out but I like the thrill. You cant watch scary stuff at day times it just wired night time only..
That's not crazy. What might be crazy is that this stuff doesn't give me a thrill. It makes me feel warm and cozy, particularly with all the lights off, and a storm raging or the wind howling outside.
i used to live by pennhurst. they open it every year for halloween
and it actully is haunted. no joke
3:07 "that white hand on your shoulder, its not real"
Pokemon?
Yep lol
"You`re not the one"
Old , abandoned insane asylums are creepier and scarier than any horror film
I just wanna say because I feel like no one else will Mental institutions ( in the US at least ) now a days are perfectly safe and nothing to be frightened of. They are there to help you and evaluate you like any other doctor or medical hospital. They have a disturbing past yes. But times have changed and so has medicine.
I know. I've been to multiple. :)
Actually Asylums are still very bad
+Reagan Stephens yup
+Bakreez yes
+Reagan Stephens da
Im keeping track of the top 5 most haunted videos and down the names of the places so I can tell the ghost adventures about them so they can put those in to their episodes.
Austin Claiborne That is awesome! I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
ill try to get a hold of aaron goodwin when i can cause i know him more than anyone else plus ive met him at the comic-con in portland. so ill keep you posted when i get a hold of him. sound good?
Austin Claiborne GAC have been to all of these. I would love them to investigate Chillingham Castle in Northumberland here in the UK. The most haunted castle in England after the tower of London.
i dont remember them going to these places except alcatraz
Watched them all. Its the only paranormal show worth watching.
I am binge watching these top 5 videos!! They are absolutely amazing. So interesting and cool info. His calming voice also make the scarier ones a lot more bearable

Great Video! I'm glad you brought up the fact that Ghost Hunters fake a lot of their material. They get on my nerves!
***** My two cents - I personally like ghost adventurers, although the youtube channels top any TV show (like DorsetGhost). 8 O
***** i love ghost adventures their has been a couple episodes were nothing happend and this one episode were they go to that one house that girl was creepy
the first asylum reminds me if the american horror story one
and the Death Tunnel one!
Right
Shut up
Wtf is you're problem ^^
+Sarai Barrera Yeah
Sooo, waverly hills is basically real life briarcliff.
Where's Evan Peters when you need him.
+Ashley Sharp around Halloween you can stay the night there and if you make it through the night you get your money back
They also give 2 and 4 hour tours and have a Halloween house there every year.
I like your apinyen and I respect it
Don't forget the homeless guy and his dog that were murdered in the elevator and now haunt the (I believe) 2nd floor.
***** Its obvious is fake

What I don't understand is if you find a rat with its neck broken and a large bloody hand print above the rat on the wall, why not get photo's for evidence? You can say this and that happened or you seen or heard something, but evidence is the key.
Screaming Tima there are photos
Adele, is that you? 5:12
Lmao😂
Lol😂😂👌
😂😂😂
+Kylie Schlotterbeck yes, hello it's me!
HELLLOOOO IS TJAT YOOOU
you just can't trust peoples accounts on this kind of thing. you will have to experience it yourself to draw or come to your own conclusions / understandings about it.
it's because spirits absolutely refuse to be revealed to the world you have to encounter them personally and there can only be a small number of people which honestly I think that is true
let's take a trip there
I'm good, I'll stay home and just not fuck with buildings
The difference between GA and GH is videos are circulating on their fakery. GA doesn't have such videos.
(And speaking of static, their older Spirit Boxes are so pointlessly _loud_ that they arguably drown out _actual_ audible phenomena, just so Zak et al. can freak out over a snippet of a late-night radio station they caught on the radio.)
There'd be no need to call out fakery, when the results being touted arguably aren't real to begin with.
I watched both series since day one and you have it so spun out the ass it's not worth debating with you.
why do i choose to watch this at night i'd never know -_-
Same...
ryu ray U WANA B MAAAAAD
Your vids are really great man and you have an awesome voice to listen to.
Mistah Pink check out danger Dolan its better

Awwww, Roy! 😭 He is one ofmy favorite ghosts, though. He's so sweet!!
Damn, I can't believe they did experiments and tortured their patients like that...that's horrible....
Ikr
Ikr they should help them put instead of tortouring them (sorry for my misspelling)
+Dulce Malik the problem was that they thought they helped them by getting theire minds straight through those tortures
Humans.... we are still no different today
Israel still does that to Palestinian children, it's not old news
Is it weird I felt interested to go to some of these places?
TheLadyMiner yes it is weird
TheLadyMiner not at all. I do too
TheLadyMiner nope!!! I wanna go with my friend that loves adventure and ghosts
Castilight yeah I realy way to live near those places
Some people have a Career, in Paranormal Investigating. So, you're not the only one. I personally, have experienced Demons at my own home. Ghosts are Demons. And I can say, they're not fun. So, think about it. It has its perks, but consequences as well.
you have the best videos, only ones ive seen that show actual footage! u just gained another subscriber
What A log was fucking Post
What about the Wittenau Sanitarium near Berlin? Creepy stuff happened there, back in 1945 the dead rose out of their graves and overran 4 soldiers inside the sanitarium.
Waw
Disaster Muzak Kudos ;)
+Swiftly Ayyyy
thats call of duty
What about Eloise Asylum too?
I have been to Waverly Hills Sanatorium! It was scary AF. Imagine going from 10:00 pm to 12:00 pm at night. Me and this one other guy saw a big dark shadow in a spot where we couldn't go. I still get the chills.
I would love to go to one of these haunted asylums at night
I would also like to, since after watching Grave Encounters back in 2011 haunted asylums have been my favorite ghost related thing, but I still think I wouldn't have the balls to go through with it unless I was with a large group of people.
+Sci_Ant same because everyone will be there and you want be that scared
Kaleb Deanda Yeah.
At 2:59 is that a pokemon unknown on the wall?
UNOWN

I like the rhyme of your narrator
"Remember me"
"Mary Lee"and
"Often See(seen)"
It's midnight. I'm watching this. I look outside, 2 glowing eyes outside my window. There was a raccoon looking at me through my window. God dammit, raccoon, almost gave me a heart attack. Good video, Top5!
People that believes in ghost adventures make me lose faith in humanity intelligence
This guy is from South Wales, it's not a strong accent but it's there, it's not a taffy accent, like a valley accent or anything like that, it is a Cardiff or Barry accent.
Well Roy sounds like a stand up guy
Your videos are so amazing but I get scared lol. Make more
Thanks :)
Top 5! You are one of the best channels. Love the content and you have such an amazing voice. The stuff is creepy but your voice is soothing.
You're great man! Don't stop with the AMAZING VIDEOS! Plus your voice man hot damn I see you reaching a million subs very soon!
Thank you so much! :)
Top5s No Tops, thank you for making these GREAT videos!

I live in Canada and I'm a paranormal investigator and I've just discovered this video. The voice of the child saying "that would be evil" gave me head to toe goose bumps and my cat started looking around as if she had heard something strange. Very odd
What a nice guy, he killed the rat for her.

your rhyming from 3:37 to 3:47 is amazing
Who else takes cover in the Comments section when they get creeped out or scared?? Hopefully I'm not the only one 😅
Snow Tourmaline me! You are not the only one
Snow Tourmaline me
Ghost Adventures is my fave!!😭😭
Me and some friends managed to get into Whittingham before it was completely demolished. Whilst there I had a constant feeling of dread, like I was being watched - It's a terrifying yet exciting experience. If anyone is contemplating doing some urban exploring in an abandoned asylum, then I recommend it (Just try not to get caught). It's an experience you will never forget :)
Ohh my God! I Really like your channel! And i think many others do! Keep going! your channel will grow fast enough! All this issue's - subject's you showing-up are very interesting! and you produce very well each of them!
Thank you :)
Top5s Your Welcome :D
2:58 FLOOR DO NOT, GONE ENTER
😂
This one got me dude 😂
Lab Matt i think it said floor gone do not enter😂
I am willing to bet you are not acquainted with The Walking Dead jokes (a.k.a. Don't Dead, Open Inside).
I live very close to the Rolling Hills Asylum... I went there this past summer with my mother and Aunt. I can personally tell you that it is haunted. Me in particular of our group felt very sad throughout and even had a successful EVP session with the patient "Roy".
I live in a asylum
I get treated pretty good here
Foods ok , it's clean
And every once and awhile my house gets visitors lol...
0 Dislikes :) Let's keep it like that.
SOMEONE RUINED IT. >:(
:/
Dam it!
:/ Well on a Happy Note, i just hit 1,000 Subscribers :)
How about you take me somewhere where scientists can see whatsup?" :b Silly ghosts -.-
Ikr? Just be chill and things won't have to be creepy.
acdc14terrace you would shit yourself....
Frankie Hiltz Ghosts haunt because they are in pain, sorrow, and full of regret. I don't think I've heard of a happy ghost besides Casper
Frankie Hiltz CAL SAM ND DEAN
Hey, if I was a ghost I would troll. Like all the time.
scary topics are the best
please do more
like if you agree
Well presented mate, enjoy your stuff , you deserve your views for sure
Well, I didn't need to sleep tonight
Ghost hunters was the only tv show I would believe. That actually debunked and didn't overreact and freak out like ghost adventures does.
