Trying to recall history. Afghanistan was part of the Greek empire. Later Persian and had strong ties to India and Buddhism. A transit hub of the continent. Basically served as the Costco of luxury goods for 2k years and until the 13th century was majority Bhuddist. Was open to ideas and had freedom of religion. More aligned with Xingang than Pakistan and hated Persian reproachment. I believe someday, maybe 20 years from now it will, with mineral wealth and education, evolve into a free and fair democracy. The pre-2001 Taliban leadership won't last long and I think the younger generation is not so radical.

With the Taliban regaining control of Afghanistan 2 years ago, they have been giving people more freedom compared to their last time running the country. It's good seeing an unbiased video showing what peacetime in Afghanistan looks like. I saw Afghani guy interview women in a market for women they were criticizing women who oppose taliban because they like western culture. Even a woman was talking with the spokesperson of taliban (on al jazeera) and wasn't too aggressive against them. She didn't hate them. She said they at least listen to us. She was talking with him about women education and they said they would bring it back after building enough infrastructure. She had its points that she hated about them but not to that degree. Even the people who hated them at first is now starting to stand with them because they started developing the country better than anyone before them. Those projects never started before due to corruption mainly (the western media said that btw).

Having Afghan parents I always saw afghanistan as a deserted place with war and terrorists and no future hope, but now that im older Ive seen pictures of Afghanistan pre-war and it was a fairly developed and mature/advanced nation. Afghanistan never got to be apart of the economic/technological boom of the modern age as the war started right before it so I'm hoping they can create their own and finally acheieve what they were destined for. From my experience suffering creates determination and determination creates strength.

I am Pakistani-American, and I am happy that Afghanistan has found peace and is now developing. The only two things I ask are that the Taliban government allow girls to get their education. And, secondly, Afghanistan should try to have good relations with Pakistan by not supporting and harboring TTP. This would allow more trade between Afghanistan and Pakistan and help both countries.
Don't believe everything the media says, they are in reality facilitating education for girls, if not in some areas the processes are being made. In regards to relations with Pakistan, there are enemies of Pakistan within Pakistan causing a lot of chaos in the love of money/power/land, their time will be coming to an end soon insha Allah and relations will improve drastically. Pakistan wanted to liberate their Afghani brothers from Soviet communist rule. And Pakistan made enormous sacrifices for that. Nearly 80,000 Pakistanis died, and Pakistan's economy was ruined. It still has not recovered. What Pakistan SHOULD have done was to let Soviets transform Afghanistan into something similar to one of their Central Asian republics. That would have modernized Afghanistan, and eventually, it would have been better for all. We had a stupid President, Zia-ul-Haq who had no foresight whatsoever. He sold Pakistan for paltry military aid from the US. We regret. We are truly sorry.

This is also why Kurds are fighting for their own nation and why they fight for the USA against their own Muslim brothers; because they are oppressed by their own people. Same reason why Arabs betrayed Ottoman Turks; Turks were oppressing them.

Trying to recall history. Afghanistan was part of the Greek empire. Later Persian and had strong ties to India and Buddhism. A transit hub of the continent. Basically served as the Costco of luxury goods for 2k years and until the 13th century was majority Bhuddist. Was open to ideas and had freedom of religion. More aligned with Xingang than Pakistan and hated Persian reproachment.
I believe someday, maybe 20 years from now it will, with mineral wealth and education, evolve into a free and fair democracy. The pre-2001 Taliban leadership won't last long and I think the younger generation is not so radical.

I saw Afghani guy interview women in a market for women they were criticizing women who oppose taliban because they like western culture. Even a woman was talking with the spokesperson of taliban (on al jazeera) and wasn't too aggressive against them. She didn't hate them. She said they at least listen to us. She was talking with him about women education and they said they would bring it back after building enough infrastructure. She had its points that she hated about them but not to that degree. Even the people who hated them at first is now starting to stand with them because they started developing the country better than anyone before them.

از شنيدن موسيقی خودداري کنید و تلاوت قرآن کریم و ذکر خالق متعال را جایگزین آن کنید.
و به خواهران خوب خود پیشنهاد میکنیم که هنگام خروج از منزل از استفاده عطریات و میک آپ (استعمال رنگ هایی مختلف به صورت و لبها) جلوگیری کنند چون شرعا ممنوع میباشد. حجاب را بشکل درست رعایت کنند

Having Afghan parents I always saw afghanistan as a deserted place with war and terrorists and no future hope, but now that im older Ive seen pictures of Afghanistan pre-war and it was a fairly developed and mature/advanced nation. Afghanistan never got to be apart of the economic/technological boom of the modern age as the war started right before it so I'm hoping they can create their own and finally acheieve what they were destined for. From my experience suffering creates determination and determination creates strength.

It has been just 2 years, development activities are starting in Afghanistan. When the right environment is created for women, they will be allowed to move again through education

I am Pakistani-American, and I am happy that Afghanistan has found peace and is now developing. The only two things I ask are that the Taliban government allow girls to get their education. And, secondly, Afghanistan should try to have good relations with Pakistan by not supporting and harboring TTP. This would allow more trade between Afghanistan and Pakistan and help both countries.
Don't believe everything the media says, they are in reality facilitating education for girls, if not in some areas the processes are being made. In regards to relations with Pakistan, there are enemies of Pakistan within Pakistan causing a lot of chaos in the love of money/power/land, their time will be coming to an end soon insha Allah and relations will improve drastically. Afghanistan is very much in the process of dealing with corruption alhamdulillah. By the way I am Pakistani myself based in the UK.

It not only destroyed Afghanistan, it destroyed Pakistan as well. Pakistan too was a liberal country in those days.
But Pakistan's intentions were good. Pakistan wanted to liberate their Afghani brothers from Soviet communist rule. And Pakistan made enormous sacrifices for that. Nearly 80,000 Pakistanis died, and Pakistan's economy was ruined. It still has not recovered. What Pakistan SHOULD have done was to let Soviets transform Afghanistan into something similar to one of their Central Asian republics. That would have modernized Afghanistan, and eventually, it would have been better for all.
We had a stupid President, Zia-ul-Haq who had no foresight whatsoever. He sold Pakistan for paltry military aid from the US.

The Pashtun areas of Pakistan were never supposed to be part of Pakistan, but Afghanistan. TTP is fighting to return those lands to Afghanistan because they don't recognize the Durand Line as a border.

No, I am simply looking at the situation as it is, without being for or against a side. Even when the modern countries came to be after independence, it doesn't change the facts. Pashtuns have always been of Afghanistan. I am not advocating "breaking up" Pakistan but rather assigning nations to their correct states. I can already see this is going to be a fruitless conversation, but people should be in their respective countries. We saw Pakistan throw Pashtuns under the bus during the war. We see how Pashtuns in Pakistan fall prey to the colorism that afflicts others as hangover from the colonial era while Afghan Pashtuns for most part don't; this is because Afghanistan defeated the British and they have a strong identity. That's why you don't understand why separatist movements occur. I am not advocating splitting up Pakistan but rather, reducing Pakistan while enlargement of other surrounding countries; no new countries.
However, I advocate splitting up India, because there is no such thing as an Indian nation. There are Hindis, Tamils, East Asians, Panjabi, and Kashmiri in India who each should get their own state. None will assimilate with the other, and that's why there is infighting among them. Muslim countries should be according to their nations and then that is how real unity can come about. This is also why Kurds are fighting for their own nation and why they fight for the USA against their own Muslim brothers; because they are oppressed by their own people. Same reason why Arabs betrayed Ottoman Turks; Turks were oppressing them.
