    Hey Gabe,
What is the youngest Discus you would sell to a customer? I live in Valrico, Florida, Hillsborough County. Is it better to pick my Discus up, or to ship them to me. Two things I regret doing was going to see Mr. Jack Wattley when he was alive in New Jersey. I’m originally from NYC. The other thing is not meeting Dr. Axelrod in NYC. He lived in Manhattan. I always wanted to attend one of his seminars, but they where rarely in NYC. I’m so glad you continued Hack Wattley’s work. I’m retired now and live in Valrico, Florida. I enjoy you videos. Thank you for sharing.

    Sir, I have a question,
As we saw, you just put the fish into the main tank (I am considering it the main tank, correct me if I am wrong) after acclimating them to the main tank water. My question is here. How are we being so sure that the new fishes are not sick or they are not carrying any diseases? It's possible that they might have just got affected and the symptoms have not started showing up. So, aren't we putting our old fishes into risk by doing this? Will it be better to keep them in the quarantine tank for some time? And only after we are fully sure that the new fishes are completely safe for the main tank, we can release them?
I am new in Discus keeping. But had this logical question popped in my mind. Will be a great help if you share your opinion.

    1."tank mates for discus"
    2. tank decor for discus what they like what they don't.
    3. Adding new fish to a established tank the " right way"
    4. Filtration, media etc..
    5. Water changes
I hear a lot of people If say discus are too hard to keep.... but I keep mine with angels and balloon rams and there all a big family.

Have you ever thought about a bare bottom tank for discus? I notice people really over populate discus tanks with lots of discus fishies. Makes it simple to know when to vacuum and do water changes. It also eliminates toxic leaching substrate and decorations. I would suggest just putting styrofoam insulation board or fanfold cut to size under the tank for the bottom. Not necessary for solid wood stands but can help reduce heating costs. Have A good day!

Hey Gabe, great info as always! Long story boring... I bought 12 tiny discus from a sus online store for ultra cheep, they came with a lot of issues that I had to treat for and still lost several. I also bought some beef heart flakes, I like the flakes, they're nice and thick, and the fish really like it. But I'm very reluctant to use it, (I havent for months) thinking maybe it contributed to my issues. I dunno whats in it, it doesn't have a label. Whatcha think?? Is safe/not safe to use? Have you heard of beef heart flake food causing problems?
