Great!..., but i`m worried for the uneven keybed, cheap feel on black plastic keys against the wooden whites keys, the short pivot point and high static touch..., this or Kawai ES8 or Roland FP90?..., decisions!, decisions!..., please help!
The DGX is a different breed of instrument really - in terms of piano quality and touch, the P515 is superior as it has wooden keys and a much higher spec key mechanism. Whereas the DGX has only plastic keys. However, the DGX has a whole style section and an accompaniment mode. It depends what you want out of the keyboard. Are you predominantly a classical pianist or do you like playing along with backings? - Isaac
If you can get this for 1300 euros, is it a really good one for that price or could still get something even better for about the same price? Some people on some videos said the touch is very heavy, what does that mean and is it a problem?
I currently have the Yamaha p45, and I know that the keys on the 515 are wooden but are they heavier than the p45's also? I don't like how light the p45 keys feel so I was just wondering.
Cameron Bauer I think they're A LITTLE heavier on p-515. But not so much heavier. They are both heavy enough. I've heard yamaha's GHS action (p-45) is like the key actin on an upright piano (maybe better than an upright piano) The key action on p-515 (Natural Wood X) is more like a grand piano. (No digital piano can compete with a grand piano.) P-45 is good enough. If you want something better than p-45, then go buy a grand piano (especialy if you're a pro). And "wooden keys" have nothing to do with the key action. They're just for decoration.
@Peter Rabitt Lighter? Are you sure? Why did yamaha do that? I thought a lot of people are looking for heavier action. How is p-45 heavier? Anyway. How did you find the sound quality on p-515? Is it like the youtube reviews? Or it's better? Is it like this video?!!!
Good piano sounds, the other sounds is from PSR 423, finally yamaha offers a sequencer, still missing: pitch bend, wheel modulation, rythm intro/fill/end for this reason I personally prefer a Korg Havian 30, is better and cheaper!
Can somebody record there self playing something like Beethoven 3rd sonata you know something very interesting so we can test the full capabilities of this keyboard so we can know how it holds up to a grand piano.
Hey Chris: I’m just curious p515 supposed to portable version of clp645, is the clp645 that much better because of big speakers? I intend to use it for home either way, but do like p515 portability for occasional moving, on the other hand some say big speakers are over kill
I haven't heard the p515. But the CLP645 has a bigger richer tone than comparable portables in speakers. But, and this is a big but, it cost about twice as much (if you ad the 3 pedal unit). You can always connect your portable to a bigger speaker to get a bigger sound at probably less cost overall. If you want to feel like you're playing a spinet, the CLP645 works. If you don't care, this one seems like a better value IMO.
Billy Kay three sensors for each key, 264 sensors ,totally. You have to know, what we call sensor, is just a litthe rubber, just like the keys on a remote controller. Believe me, two sensors for each key is quite enough, three sensors is for the ones who are extremely stickler.
I've only spent time with the CP4 and it's great! Heavier action than my Casio PX860 (which I also love) and very solid. Looking forward to giving the P515 a try :-)
Why don't you record stuff through a line out jack?!!!(idk! something like that!...) So, we could realize how it sounds! You record with a camera, and I would say p-255 sounds way better! That's how I assumed p-45 souns better than p-125, and p-125 had a disgusting harsh sound! I know this is not true... maybe... I think p-125 realy has a harsh sound but not disgusting!(I saw other reviews for that!)
Thanks for your comments! We have had quite a lot of suggestions regarding recording through the line out as opposed to using a camera microphone. We aim to do this in our future videos! - Isaac Stuart
ePianos.co.uk - don’t listen to the previous comment. We don’t listen through the line out jack when playing, so why would you showcase a video through line out? Too many music shops record using the line out function these days, and this doesn’t distinguish the instrument, as they all sound the same. Using a normal camera mic is much more realistic and natural. Keep up the good work!

Tyrosmatt If they record audio through line out jack, we will see how the piano sounds WHILE USING HEADPHONES! (most people use headphones, I think) I also agree to recording with a microphone, but the microphone should have high quality. Their previous microphone was great , but their new videos don't sound as good as before. Thanks!
I fell in love with this piano a minute I got it. Absolutely unbelievable still can’t believe how incredible this piano is.
I wholeheartedly agree.
Amazing sound! And I love your videos! Thanks for your atention as I am one of your customers!
P515 or CLP735? Please?

Hi. I would like to see a comparison between Yamaha Dgx 660 vs 515 P. Which is the best. Thank you.
2:39 LOL
Mango D Sky lol wtf

Quick question for you. How would you compare or recommend when comparing to the GDX 660, other than price what would you say would be better?

Well I don’t know many real pianos with pitch bend and wheels lol………this is primarily a piano, not synth
Do you find that the speaker volume output on this model is superior to that of the 255 and 115? Thanks!
Of course. The 515 is the successor of the 255

It has 3 sensors :)

I must agree that p-125 has a harsh sound. My ears just cant stand its brightness. I think that for a new model like this they should have done better
