I am not a retailer nor work for Yamaha or any other brand. I have tried and owned other DPs in this category. The P 515 is the best. Bad reviews are from people who do not know how to adjust the voice settings. I only use it for Classical / Bosendorf mode. The factory setting does not do justice to it. Use the function button to crank the volume to it's max 127, brightness up to your taste and (light 2) touch sensitivity from preset 64, I am using 76. This will already turn the sound from water to wine. Every adjustment done under "function" will be memorized after turning the piano off, but you have to enable this capability. See page 105 from the manual. Under the "piano room" button some settings are also memorized. I also set my Eq with -5 bass, +6 mid, +4 treble. If you don't like this DP, you will not like any other.
Just lovely, but I wish when Mr Aldort plays, the videos would identify the voice or voices he is using for that particular arrangement. Other than that it’s a great concert. Made me go buy the P 515. But somehow I don’t sound anywhere near Mr. Aldort. Thanks.
Yamaha obviously aiming at modernist, aggressive, forte lovers! What I would like to hear is what a classical and a standards player could evoke, with a full use of the piano down to ppp as well as a thundering fff. Can the piano provide luscious legato? Many shades of staccato? What proximity to a warm, organic grand piano can the Bosendorfer replicate in the hands of one who is dedicated to creating such tones. Gabriel Aldort is admirably talented, and I can clearly see Yamaha/Kraft have a reasonable marketing strategy. I am just saying perhaps I am not the only acoustic piano enthusiast who would seriously look at the P-515 as a great asset given the wooden action, low price, portability, space savings, stellar internal sound system. Why not target us in at least one extended video demo in tandem with this one?
erikkohl if you could do this ruclips.net/video/T3eO4jRt2rY/видео.html on a CP4 with NW instead of NWX action and less polyphony I don’t see why you can’t do it on the 515. I know one is a stage piano and the other is a portable but still.
Classic and Romantic, especially slow pieces with very few notes (like Satie), shows the flaws of these digital instruments relentlessly. That's why they avoid it.
Hi Kraft music, when you slightly push down the keys, and go for the full push after that - does it make a sound? I own the P115 and it doesn't make any, so the control is terrible in that regards. Is it still the case with the P-515? Thx
Same here. I want a digital piano where i can just plug my pendrive and it will record for me. I don't want to go through the complicated process where i need an audio interface. DGX 660 is quite reasonable but i heard some people said the touch isn't that good. But the sound is beautiful. Probably i have to try it out first XD
Benedict Tan Music I tried it at my local music store and it was absolute joy to play! Budget plays a part, plus you can read sheet music off of the DGX-660. I can’t find these in any stores.
I notice there is no mention of a triple sensor key bed. It's mentioned on most of the CP 4's videos, let me guess, Yamaha decided to cut corners on this piano?
The E, and particularly the F, and even the G above Middle C sound very shrill to me, those notes are out of balance I own this piano bought from Kraft and I'm still in my 45 day trial. Anyone else experience this? Is it possible these keys are misfiring digitally?. I have an old YPG 625, with the one button Grand Piano, and it is SUPERIOR however the keyboard clatters So I'm wondering if the DGX 660 isn't better, maybe it has the YPG piano sample? Other than that the P-515 has a great keyboard and I like that it does NOT have special stand

DO NOT BUY DGX 660!!!!!!! i bought it and i am very disapointed....everything it`s made of a cheap plastic, the piano sound is horrible, and the speakers are the weak point at this piano...really, the speakers you can replace them from the day you will unbox this piano...so, no way DGX 660....and please keep in mind, that i am a big fan of Yamaha!!!! Regards!
I'm not a fan of writing negative comments but this keyboard really has a cheap, artificial, electronic sound. And the very amateurish level piano playing demonstration doesn't really help. And this supposes to be a newly developed Yamaha digital piano...
you can't tell anything from listening online. I got suckered into buying a highly rated tube guitar amp, that sounded great in the vids, but I played two chords and realized I made a huge mistake. Complete piece of junk. I will never buy any bit of gear without a hands on demo now. The specs on this look very promising, but proof is in playing.
"I'm not a fan of writing negative comments..." - ah huh. You are accusing this affordably priced digital piano of being "cheap", "artificial", and "electronic". I can see why you might break your silence to make this startling revelation. As for the “amateurish level” of piano playing, exactly how hard are you trying not to be negative?

Did you seriously steal this review from the Sweetwater reviews? Lol
Let's face it, with a talent like that Gabriel found make a child's toy piano sound good.

That's some great playing!

I Agree! 100%

Lovely rendition of "My Romance"
What an amazing review!! Thank you so much. May I know the names of the songs played they sound amazing! How do you approach improvising?
Beautiful!
Hi, this yamaha p515 can I use it as midi keyboard?? (to controll VST instruments in a DAW) Thanks
Hey man! What is the name of this piece ? (8:30min)
I own this amazing digital piano, but I can't feel the escapement (let off). Any of you has noticed the same thing?
So my favorite one I ever played is on the Yamaha P-155. I know it's discontinued now, but how is the P-515 compared to it? Thanks in advance!
This or Korg Granstage?
He has long fingers...and as a piano player I envy that.
Question: How were you recording this? With what equipment? Did you do some sound engineering? If so, what software? Thanks
you can record with a flash drive plugged in or through a cord. I recommend flash drive, it uses high quality .wav files.
Hi Kraft music,
when you slightly push down the keys, and go for the full push after that - does it make a sound? I own the P115 and it doesn't make any, so the control is terrible in that regards.
Is it still the case with the P-515?
Thx
This does because it has triple sensor. The p115 did not have the third sensor that does that
Absolutely - this has triple sensor action!
Se escucha lindo y hermoso en manos de los que saben😁😁😁😁
como cualquier instrumento
this is how to play the pianos and the rhodes... thx :)
Well the melody of the Rogers and Hart was there but virtically hmm.
CP88 is better ?
Should I get this or the DGX-660?
This 100%
This is twice the price of the DGX. The main difference is the wooden keyboard and the additional piano sounds (Bosendorfer)

yup get this one, DGX from what I heard will be discontinued
Why does this sound words (even more harsh) than the cp88 when they have the same samples?
youtube compression
I notice there is no mention of a triple sensor key bed. It's mentioned on most of the CP 4's videos, let me guess, Yamaha decided to cut corners on this piano?
It says "All Playing, No Talking!" The description does say " NWX (Natural Wood X) keyboard action "
Nope, it has the triple sensor key, surprisingly
Yamaha P-515 vs Yamaha YDP143R what do you choose?
P 515 all the way
Should I go for this or Casio Privia PX-870?
This this this.
Is it just me or does this instrument has light over the keybed?
Sounds very dry and synthetic. Maybe add some reverb. Also do you have the harmonic resonance simulator on?
I'm going to sell my YAMAHA P115 to buy that one.
Why?
Why are the mid and base sound so compressed, like you hear from "It" the clown singing Georgy Georgy
This or p125?
If you can afford this one, no reason to consider P125
The E, and particularly the F, and even the G above Middle C sound very shrill to me, those notes are out of balance
I own this piano bought from Kraft and I'm still in my 45 day trial.

Arima kosei was here
i like clavinovas more...they sound more like a real piano....just me i guess...
they aren't portable
The P 515 is basically the CLP 645 without the cabinet
they have same sound engine, just different speakers.
they have the exact same sound engine as this one. maybe the settings on them were tweaked (the ones you heard)
I love yamaha but this just sounds so awful. Guess i'm going for the CP4. That still sounds and feels the best.
Kawai MP7 key action hands down, of course IMHO...
I bet through a PA or keyboard amp this sounds much, much better than through the built-in speakers. ;
Fer De Armas think he was referring to sound not action of keybed
@@robertmichalscheck3072 Ok, for sound, hmmm maybe...
LMAO BRUH THIS HAS THE SAME SOUND ENGINE AS IT WHAT TF YOU TALKING ABOUT
Bad demonstration. Not only sounds.
Are we talking about the ability of the pianist?

Nah
Most people would disagree with you
