  • When starting a software class using the Hatch Digitizing program, I have gotten into the habit of telling attendees that Hatch is like an onion in that you will find that it has many layers. Then I let them know that it is best to go layer by layer and that I purposely will not be showing them too many features on the offset as it would quickly become overwhelming and confusing.
The theory behind digitizing is the same as the “onion” with regards to leaning the process, so not only do you have the curve of learning a new program you also have a steeper curves with regards to learning the theory of how to digitizes which is independent of the program.
I’m saying all this because Hatch has a ton of what I like to call “Auto Pilot” features that do make digitizing so much easier than the “old days”, when everything had to be taken into account manually. But understanding the theory behind the automation is vitally important when you do not get the results you’re looking for. Then, going off “Auto Pilot” will require that foundation of theory to provide better results.
One such automated tool I love in Hatch is the “Fabric Assist” tool. To sum it up, it allows you to digitize a design and then with the click of a button choose the type of fabric you want it to run on. It will automatically change properties such as pull compensation, density, underlay types and values. It is truly magic, until it doesn’t quite work properly, then you need to know how to peel back another layer of the onion and understand where the automation ends and the theory kicks in?
In this video we will use a real life example from one of our FB Group members who encountered quality issues for Terry Cloth monograms and name drops that needed some tweaking after using the Terry Cloth Fabric Assist Settings.
    Thanks for watching!

You mentioned in the video you would have a link to do the 'smash' in Hatch. I don't see the link above.

Please I want to know if the Hatch software can digitize cording and sequins embroidery.
Or which software can you recommend for both cording and sequins digitising?
    Thanks

Sorry, Hatch does not have those commercial features. I would suggest asking your machine dealer which they suggest for the brand of machine you own.
