I was one of the musicians on the helideck, and he was so kind to us. He wanted to hire real musicians for it to look like people were actually playing and not faking, which was probably much more expensive but it shows his dedication

It was filmed on an oil rig in Norway, an incredible experience. Even got to keep a signed violin

@@Kenta127 I played cello, second of the cellists (luckily I got one of the violins signed so I didn't have to drag a whole cello with me back home😅)

Yoann Lemoine is the creator, writer, director and vocalist, everything he does is extremely cinematic and dramatic. He's a music video director and worked with some major pop stars before venturing out to create Woodkid and their first album led to a world tour and was a massive success.

I think it resembles how someone might be mentally cut off, or In a dark place, hence why he’s on an oil rig stranded in the ocean. I think the flare resembled him asking for help since he’s in a dark place, literally and figuratively and the sun rising is supposed to resemble him getting help.

I absolutely love this song!!! I love storytelling songs. I did like it come from dark to light showing a contrast that this light to bring us from our darkness. I how it goes from a poppy song to that old let’s bring an orchestra into the mix and make it more powerful. It’s just soo beautiful!!

First time viewer here. I think your assessment of this song and video being 'magical' is absolutely perfect. Like, there is something so special and unique about Woodkid's music and this is up there as one of his best tracks. Also, the underlying message of the video is really poignant; while the song itself is very melancholic, the video gives it a hopeful spin and I'm real glad that you picked up on it. Great video all around!

Hey brother, just wanted to say that I’ve been really enjoying all of your music journeys over the past few months. Jumped in on the Blackpink hype train but have started to listen to your other videos as well.
You seem like a very sweet soul and I love how you speak to the music and from the heart.
I’ve never heard Woodkid before, but he reminds me of a happy marriage between Icelandic composer Olafur Arnolds (Old Skin and For Now I Am Winter), some Jóhann Jóhannsson (The Miner Hymns), and faith/folk artist Josh Garrels (White Owl and Born Again). All three are beautiful, atmospheric musicians that have really impacted me over the last several years.
    Wishing you the best always!

A really nice reaction thanks! Woodkid has done some other brilliant stuff, you could look at really anything from him but if I had to recommend one I'd say 'I Love You' from his Golden Age album would be a good place to pick this up- it shows the other end of the vibes that his music can bring.

In the Netherlands we have a singer called Dotan with such a voice. He makes more up tempo music...
