CALL 👏 HIM 👏 OUT 👏 I do think Nexus genuinely cared about his family, but a combination of his use of NSP, his overall mental state, and his refusal to own up to his actions, brought out his deepest, innermost insecurities and feelings towards everyone to the point it consumed him and overrode any love he had for them My biggest gripe with him for the longest time was how, despite initially being the "better" Moon, he refused to actually learn from Moon's mistakes, or understand why he made said mistakes to begin with. In the end, he not only became WORSE than Moon, he had no one but himself to blame
Exactly! He got so consumed in the narrative he made in his head that he forgot that his family- at least most of them- *did* express that they accepted him for who he was, rather than who they wanted him to be in the past. And he always prided himself on being better, but refused to look at his predecessor with a critical eye to understand Moon's actions and learn from him.
@night-waker Nexus refused to see Moon with any nuance and realize that most of his actions when not controlled by KillCode was driven by anger or love. And most of them post separation were driven by a want/need to protect Sun. Like we all know, Moon was abusive towards Sun a lot of the time, and some of that abusive behavior was even born of trying to protect Sun. (Others were him being too caught up in his own problems and suffering to see the damage he was doing [still bad but more understandable]). Mind you, some of it (the whacking stick) was born of amusement, but that was also the minority of the abuse (which some of it could also be passed off as how friends/siblings interact, but Moon definitely went treated at least the physical abuse as comedy.) Little to none of Nexus's toxic bullshit was born of wanting to protect others. It was either for fun or taking other's problems/actions as personal affronts/attacks. Nexus didn't learn, and he constantly compared himself to Moon and assumed everyone else did too. But, Earth had no point of reference for that, Nexus never got even vaguely close to Lunar, and Solar barely knew Moon. So that just leaves Sun to make those comparisons and that rarely happened. Nexus was the one that brought it up more than Sun ever did. If Sun's Trauma led him to learn star power in secret, Nexus took it as Sun not trusting him or (really and) seeing him as Old Moon. Nexus took all of Sun's flaws and his actions that were based off his trauma as personal attacks and comparing him to Old Moon. The best example of this is Sun secretly learning Star power.
I absolutely hate nexus. Like HATE him. I do feel a little bad for the unfortunate string of events that happened to push him to be like this but in the end he kind of also only have himself to blame
I think he cared once, but at his base Nexus was a Moon. And because of that he chose every terrible option there was and when the time came to answer for them, to reach out for help from those who loved him, he (just like how Moon does) shied away. it took dying for OG to realize all hed done wrong and hes still actively making some of the same mistakes because while he learned from them he has yet to really work on changing his ACTIONS not just his words. Nexus lost someone he loved and instead of finding the love that everyone else had for him he wanted a reason to be angry and spiteful and MEAN. So he made up this BS about having to be like the Old Moon because thats "who he is" and "he has a legacy to uphold" when he never did. When those who loved him told him time and time again that he did not have to be like any other moon (just as Solar was unlike most other Eclipse varients we've met), that he didnt have to be anything but himself and whoever that ended up being that he was THEIRS regardless of anything- He gave it up. Because at his base he is a Moon. He didnt want to grieve, he didnt want to lean on people, he didnt want THEM. He wanted Solar, the only bit of the celestial family he chose one he had the mental capability to really decide and understand the consequences. And when he couldnt have that, and when his family was telling him that they were okay with him stopping, and when he wouldnt listen to Eclipse about a possible solution he gave up. Stopped caring. And then, because hed sound stupid if he just became evil just because HE wouldnt reach out, he lied. He pretended that this was their fault. That they forced him to be like Moon. That they NEVER loved him. That THEY were the ones who pushed him to this point when in reality he just didnt care anymore and would sound like an idiot if he admitted THAT was the reason. So he pretended and lied and said whatever he needed to in order to not sound like a pathetic moron in front of the people who wouldve so happily helped with his burdens. Nexus wanted to be angry. Agreed. It was disgusting for Nexus to laugh at and make jokes about Sun's schizophrenia and it was even worse for him to force Sun to go on a manhunt to kill Bloodmoon.
Every time Nexus made violent threats to Sun, it reminded me of Moon a little. And it always made me think about whether it reminded Sun of Moon too. Moon once told Sun he'd unplug him, and so did Nexus. Typically, I try to have an open mind and see both sides of the story, so here we go. I understand how Nexus might have felt pressured. Not into being like Moon, but into being better. The "being like old Moon cause I have a legacy to uphold" (probably)came from Moon himself, NOT Sun, when Nexus went into his own head, so he missed the target a bit there. I understand not wanting to be compared to Moon. That's fair. However, I also understand how hard it would be for Sun not to compare, given that they sounded the same, looked the same, had somewhat of the same mannerisms, etc. Especially since he was still grieving. That's probably where most of the blaming Sun comes from; from Nexus' point of view, no matter how much Sun said he didn't have to be like Moon, he still compared and had expectations. And every comparison probably made him feel like he was failing in his duty to be better, which probably didn't help. In the end, none of this justifies Nexus' actions. He can blame whoever he wants, but it was STILL him that did everything. He took so much pride in being better; being better than Moon means COMMUNICATING and not just letting the feelings fester into resentment and anger. Bringing up Sun's mental problems in the past was NOT okay in any way, btw. Sun was trying to make a lighthearted joke; turning it into that was unneeded. Nexus can't expect Sun to be honest and communicate with him all the time, when HE didn't even communicate that well in the first place. Also, Nexus bringing up Roxanne so constantly was COMPLETELY unnecessary. I understand how he thought it might've just been lighthearted jokes, but I've been on Sun's end, and it SUCKS. Especially when you reiterate that you do not like the person anymore, multiple times, and they keep going and teasing. Thank you for coming to my ted talk. Gudbai o/

@@jamiethecringequeen Nexus's anger is valid, and he wasn't ever wrong to not want to be Moon or want to have his own identity, but it never justified his behaviors and it's impossible to see him as sympathetic after all he's done, in this video and during his villain arc. I know a lot of people loved him when he was still New Moon, but they fight way too hard to excuse and justify his toxic, cruel behaviors and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. 😥
To be fair with the whole Bloodmoon vs. Ruin thing, Ruin only had one singular goal and, once he accomplished it, was no longer interested in harming anyone else, while Bloodmoon was always going out of their way to kill/maim/whatever more people. I don't think Nexus' different approaches were based on how "bad" each person's action's were, but rather whether on or not he considered them an active threat.
@@underfirebutok That's probably so, but the main point was that Nexus was pushing against Sun wanting to try and give Bloodmoon a chance due to the harm BM had done, acting like he didn't understand it in any capacity when *he* himself had set aside all concern over the harm Ruin had done to continue trying to save him and give him a second chance. It was about the hypocrisy of his attitude for trying to shut Sun down rather than the actual damage done by either Ruin or BM. /nbr

he’s…he’s not a good person. and that makes me sad
/nbr
I always liked Old Moon more than Nexus.
I also don't think Nexus was better. He was never better version of Moon. At least not in my eyes.
I always hated how he seemed to hang out and talked with Solar more than Sun...
@@Kurkiaaa Same here. I liked Nexus's character at first but I never liked him more than Moon just because Nexus was "less flawed" in the beginning. And he definitely made it clear that he had a favorite member of the family, and didn't really care too much about Sun outside of getting to bully him for cheap laughs.
EXACTLY!! And I saw some people finding that bulling funny...
@@Kurkiaaa But then those are the same people who will say the whacking stick gag is abuse. Which is fair, and I agree with that! But their double standard is ridiculous.
At the time I don't think they knew that KC died or got killed by BM. I could be wrong tho
They did. They learned about it in "Moon FIXED Monty Gator," posted on October 29th, and then the episode "The HUNT for BLOODMOON" was posted on November 22nd.
Something I wanna say is that Sun does not have Schizophrenia, theres more to Schizophrenia than just hallucinations. T^T
The assumption of Schizophrenia is that only hallucinating is bad, please I beg research about Schizophrenia before we all make the assumption that Sun has it.
Sun probably most likey just had ptsd, that causes Hallucinating aswell. In that one episode where sun gets over his trauma with bloodmoon and the hallucinations go away, that does not happen with someone with Schizophrenia, that takes alot therapy.
Please stop saying Sun has Schizophrenia when he does not,
@@uni_creator Apologies, I was mainly basing my perspective off the fact that it's what the characters in the show have said.
@Inky_Kuro its fine, dw! Its kinda sams fault for not clarifying what Sun actually had and simply labeled hallucinations = Schizophrenia. You didn't know, don't worry ^^ 👍 (Besides Nexus could have said that to be a jerk cause he is one >:[ )
Edit : another thing me using periods and punctuation isnt me being mad I just like Using punctuation sometimes!
Oh hey! How you doing? 😊
Hey! I'm doing good! Just shook at how much activity the vid got out of nowhere. o_o
I honestly did always and still do like old moon better and now I’m realizing why. My subconscious is working overtime I guess
