I've got to admire Iga's dynamic energy, movement and determination. But she has only 3 shots: serve, thumping backhand, thumping forehand. That is so thoroughly dull compared to so many of the top-50 ATP players who can lob, dropshot, slice, volley, smash etc. WTA sucks, I'm afraid - though this was a good match (nice to see Haddad do things like drop-volley etc)
my guy with all respect probably everyone inside the ATP top 800 will absolute roundhousekick Iga or Haddad. Of course this was a very good match to watch, but comparing ATP with WTA is like comparing apples with marshmallows, they are just two different sports.
There will always be a lot of haters. It's their decision to skip those top-level games on WTA tour.
@@MP_Tennis I know mate, but many folks say that there is no competition in WTA, noone is consistent etc. This tournament proves them wrong.
WTA is also nice even though you can't expect the same level of entertainment. Biological differences between men and women will always be there no matter what but real tennis fans can still appreciate what women can do. Just keep your expectations in check and don't demand impossible.

i didn't watched the match but from this video i felt like it was this matche the final! The intensity from both Iga and Beatriz was absolutely amazing and i think also this is the final consacration for Beatriz as a top 10 player, not only in terms of numbers in the ranking but also in terms of how she played Roland Garros and in general till the semi-finals and also for how she played in the semis against the defending champion and world number 1. I don't know, i was really surprised
The final was really good as well. I thought Iga was at one stage going to lose, until she capitalised on Muchova's mistakes and missed chances. She was even closer to losing in her last-16 match at Wimbledon on Sunday, she was a set down and faced 2 match points and still won!
So Iga now can also win without a first service! What a match! Respect for Bea ‘Tigresse’ Haddad Maia’s tenacity. I hope she keeps this momentum of level of play so we will see her in lots more semis, finals and even wins. She’s a force to be reckoned with. But Iga is something else. Can’t wait for the final Saturday with surprising Muchova as opponent. Could be fun again!

Brawo Iga aczkolwiek drugi set był koszmarny w jej wykonaniu, brak pierwszego serwisu i mnóstwo błędów. Zauważyłem jeden progres - prędkość pierwszego serwisu regularnie powyżej 180 a zdarzyło się nawet 191 wczoraj
Ja przegapiłem ten mecz - faktycznie w drugim secie było tak źle...? dlaczego? może Maia wymuszała błędy...
@marcinmartin4667 faktycznie tak było Maia przełamała na 1-3 a i tak w każdym gemie serwisowym Igi byly problemy w dwóch musiała się bronić w pierwszym 2giego seta serwowała i było już 0-40 ale się wybroniła. Poza tym dużo błędów najczęściej z bekhendu jak i siatkie i auty na długość. Za dużo tego było. Ja rozumiem że Maia jest leworęczna ale po jaki czort Iga grala jej non stop z bekhendu po krosie na jej forhend. Myślę że w finale nie będzie takich błędów poza tym K Muchova zaczęła utykac pod koniec meczu i w finale pierwsze kwadranse pokaże prawde o kontuzji

Swiatek reminds me of how Murray used to play. Not the most powerful but extremely consistent and allowing opponent to make errors while winning points she should win consistently.

The French say they love tennis, how many empty seats?.......its a disgrace of a tournament, apparently nothing stops the French from lunch, even near the quarter and semi-finals of the world's best players,.......no wonder the camera does not pan around the stadium.......absolute disgrace.....Wimbledon is full nearly from round one, we need to stop corporate booking seats and not turning up, but we are the best bar none, these french are not tennis lovers,.....
I noticed there are always loads empty seats. Commentators don't say too much about it. It seems they turn a blind eye to it.

Tennis is one of only a few sports where men allow women to be paid the same, sorry if this is controversial, but sports are bums on seats and views, nothing more, the men book the seats and the women get the same pay its wrong,.......I've seen a women's final last 55 minutes and the men's last over 4 hours,.........
Only unskilled workers are paid by the hour. Others are paid for knowledge, skills and commitment. You seem unqualified.
Plus they they play best-of-three matches. But I still prefer being a man.
@@wojtekja If the game was paid on bums on seats individually from each other, men's tennis and women's tennis the women would not be able to make a living, there is no way they would attract the viewing figures needed to pay the sums they get, and if you think differently you are not researching these financial sports and how players are paid........soccer is a prime example, women game is paid less yet they get more of the revenue from sponsorships and viewing figures than the men do, even though they are on more per match.....And listen to what I said it was not saying they are unskilled, or that they were paid by the hour, And lastly, nobody needs to be qualified to make a statement about what clearly happens in the tennis world with males and females, it is fact.........Im pretty certain I have not said anything that I needed training for to get a certificate to be able to say it.

Haddad Maia you must be able to hit those balls harder and keep the depth. Swiatek has got a weak serve you must be able to exploit it at every opportunity.
The footwork of Swiatek is impressive, but her technique on both wings is hideous, she hits the balls so close to her body, looks amateuristic. But her footwork and racket handling speed saves her

Honestly speaking, Iga did not fully deserve this winning..We have to recognize that Haddad also a big player..A third set would be a good chance to her..Two weakness of Haddad are: lack of psychological preparation against though moment and drop shouts in front of the net. These facts should be supported by the team..When we come to Iga; the weaknesses are: Very weak first services..Lack of Back Hand Parallel and weak For-hand parallel shots. The Team should consider these facts for next matches…😊
Wow, by what criteria she „did not fully deserve”? Iga won the first set easily. The second set was very close indeed, but still Iga won it. It is this simple. She won 2-0 in sets, she also won more points and more games, even in 2nd set alone.

I remember also having some homemade pop corn to eat while watching which after some minutes I forgot despite bowl being right beside my arm as I was astonished of watching this no competition final with Sharapova doing anything she wanted.. I think the whole match lasted like an hour or so...

The last point should have been replayed IMHO, because the ball landed very close to where Haddad Maia was standing. IMHO umpires made bad call in the last point, but I might be wrong. That shot landed so close to Haddad Maia that she could have properly returned it, if the call didn't happen. Overall 1ga was the better player. Even if Haddad Maia would have won this set, I don't think she would have won the third set. Still great match by both players and 1ga Swiatek deserves this win. I think that Haddad Maia simply ran out of gas at the worst possible moment.
