@@tanthamanI just got R41 and have used it twice. It’s my favorite out of the razors I own and gives me an amazing irritation free shave. Now I didn’t care for the muhle blade that came with it. So I changed it out with a perma sharp and got a bbs shave.
You rinsed the razor under hot water. I remember a video you posted where a viewer told you that we shouldn’t rise under hot water but cold water instead. Hot or cold? Thanks for your great videos!!!
I use the 38C, the long handle version of the 34C. My first DE razor four years a go. I have three other razors I rotate with, one is on the expensive side. The 38C still gives me a smooth shave in two passes.
My first razor. I love it. I’ve moved on to the stainless Feather, which I love and have used for over a decade, but I still have the Merkur. By the way I bought a Simpson synthetic brush from you several years ago. I use it every day and it is still in perfect shape and works perfectly. Thank you!
I'm still using "....THE WORKHORSE OF RAZORS.....!" as well! ! ! I've tried 1 or 2 others, but the Merkur is the one I always come back to ! Geo-Nation ! ! !
I love my 34C!! I've tried other razors and it's been a blood bath. This razor is perfect. So much so that I followed up and bought more Merkur blades from you. Their perfect together. Thank you Geo and SN.
34C was my entry razor and was recommended by to me by geofatboy on this very channel. I still own it and love it as well as the Merkur slant. Thanks Geo.
Thank you Geo Fatboy! I agree with you regarding the 34C, and I actually got my 38C from you about a year ago because I have large hands and the 34C’s handle would get lost in my hand sometimes while shaving. The 38C with a Feather Blade is one of my most used Razors… along with my vintage Gillette Adjustable Razors. Hey, I liking the new steel bowl! I’m going to have to check them out and pick one up.
Hmm the Merkur a tad heavy for me but good and I have now used a Feather AS-D2 with a Feather blade for a long time now and it is a great combo. Personally i go for a two pass and finish with a good splash of Thayers medicated withhazel it brings those last few bits of tiny stubble up and it clears it fine.
Great shave Geo! All soaps and creams turn white when lathered AFAIK, so a white bowl doesn't matter really. At any rate, the 34C is the working mans razor, no frills or flattery just great shaving. Thanks for the video!
If you had to do a direct comparison in shave experience and aggressiveness what plate on the Rockwell 6C/6S would be a match to this razor considering same blade used?
@ I agree with you. I’m doing four, maybe five. I tried a full week but it was not as pleasant on day 6, and definitely day 7. I love feather blades. Thanks.
I have several safety razors but my 34C doesn't seem to do a great job. So many people recommend it that I'm beginning to think mine has a manufacturing defect, maybe a fraction of a mm somewhere, I also have the infamous R41 which would be my weapon of choice for safety razors but I usually use a straight razor when time permits.
I have used many double edge razors (old timer in the 70's now) but I agree with Geo for a daily driver I'll take my 34G day in and day out...! I like others, like a Gillette Red Tip and my Gillette Slim and also my Merkur Progress, love them but again day in day out, the 34 is for me, the best razor out there and I have a heavy beard... I always recommend it to any new comer...GG
@AndreasJ-ol8no it just means to pull your neck skin to where it's tight and provides a good surface for the razor to glide across without grabbing the skin. I apply pressure just below my neck to make the skin taut.
Can someone help me with this- im confused between a henson and merkur 34c . In my country the shipping for a henson is one month whereas i can get a 34c within a week from amazon. Are hensons really worth the wait and the extra bucks in my case ?? I just want good razor for daily shave (one and done ).
I have a Henson and am first time shaving double edge last 6 months. It's OK but I'm going to order this one to try. A lot depends on your blade choice, I've tried sample packs and have settled on 2 brands. I would go with his recommendation for all these years.
I'd consider an adjustable instead, like a Parker Variant or Rockwell 6c, since those can adapt to your skill and beard growth. Blade choice can only do so much. If you have heavy beard growth, I'd recommend a different razor and blade type.
Recently my girlfriend bestie asked me that since her grandfather can't shave his face because his hands shake so can safety razor be used to shave someone else face
The original. The GOAT.
R41 is goat imo
Totally agree 😅 34c is too mild for me @@tanthaman

I like to rotate as well! Mix it up!
Ive bought and sold the 34C over a dozen times and kept going back to it. Now its the ONLY razor in my den after having close to 50 altogether.
This is the same one I bought over 15 years ago! Time Tested!

I used my 34c this morning with a Wilkinson Sword blade.
Great video Geo. Your videos helped me get into DE and straight razors. I've recently joined the no shave club but i still like the videos
My favourite proraso boar brush. Congratulations Geo and thank you for awesome videos that got me hooked to safety razors.
Wonderful razor, love it
My one and only razor. The best

Awesome!
Great shave 👍
I love my 34C and my 34G. Always a great shave. Great video Geo!
34C, the best everyday razor ever made
I use a 70 year old Gillette Tech razor with Personnas. Works
It is a great razor. I've tried others but alway come back to the Merkur. Easy and effective!
I thought the 6s would be MVP lol Nice vid Geo
I remember back when 34c and de89 were the most recommended. i went with the de89 but have been using the 37c for a decade as my regular
What a coincidence. I used my 34C today. Close and comfortable for sure.
Thank you Geo Fatboy!

15 years of Geo Fatboy!
My first safety razor came from you. I still use it. I will never go back to anything else.

Sounds good to me!
Nice Geo I have the same brush!
I only shave with the 34C using a
feather blade. Otherwise it is too
mild for me.

Thanks for your input Terry!
If i purchase from india will u deliver it ??
Nice shaving as usual, Geo👍
CLEAR. THE. RUNWAYS!!
If you had to do a direct comparison in shave experience and aggressiveness what plate on the Rockwell 6C/6S would be a match to this razor considering same blade used?
I'd say close to the R4
I have been using the Merkur 34c for many years already, I would not change for any other safety razor.
Great razor! It's a classic for a reason.
I CANNOT use that Razor, i have the 38C Barber Pole & i LOVE it!!!!! 💪
39c first pass then 38c second/third.
How many shaves with a feather blade?
I usually use one 5 times before I toss them. I’ve heard of some people getting 7 shaves on one blade.
@ I agree with you. I’m doing four, maybe five. I tried a full week but it was not as pleasant on day 6, and definitely day 7. I love feather blades. Thanks.
I do 3 to 4 shaves
4-5-6-YMMV
@@geofatboy Thank you
I’ve been following you for 15 years. I hope all is well!
Dear Geo, which blade do you rocomend to use with C 34 taking under consideration I have very corse hair.
Geo makes it look so easy lol 😂
Geo your Bears are the only team in NFC North not in playoffs. Please show me some love for my Lions. Great shave my man.
Geo the Best!
Thanks Eduardo!
I have 34c and Muhle r89, I think Muhle is slightly better than 34c for daily shaving
The handle is longer on the R89 that's a plus!
Hey Geo I tried the feather blades in my dovo primo 1 they cut me to pieces, back to dovo blades! Happy new year!

I still struggle shaving on the neck...
Why? Make sure it’s prepped properly and skin is warm. You can pull it taut if need be.
@@f8c3themusic Pull it taut? What u mean
@AndreasJ-ol8no it just means to pull your neck skin to where it's tight and provides a good surface for the razor to glide across without grabbing the skin. I apply pressure just below my neck to make the skin taut.
Geo: you converted me to traditional shaving 10 years ago. I purchased the IKON X3 slant from Shave Nation.

There are ghost orbs in your video. If you believe in the paranormal.
