Monotonous tasks makes my brain wander to other places...
I know what you mean
It leads to awesome video productions though! ;)
please write the name of the tracks in this video 😘
I think its hyper cool you worked with Rober on his "Glitter Bombs"
The "After Theft" video was Purely Epic!
Gone
Now the extra effort that went into the production is unparalleled!
Thanks!
So you imply it is serialized. Interesting...
@@SeanHodgins you're not fooling anyone! You might be a tech stuff wizzard in your mind but you're too much of a film dirrector in your heart! :)) Congrats for getting things done! ...resumming yt procrastination way into my sleeping time...
It really is Insane to me more people aren't subbd
I would sure as hell binge watch a Netflix series like this. This is phenomenal.
That would be incredible.
RIGHT??

I recommend you Mr.Robot
When you commit to an aesthetic- and you execute it this well. The result is in a league of its own 🔥
I don't remember subscribing to this channel but past me clearly knew what he was doing
Present me thanks past you.
Right?? I said "who the hell is this, ok let's just check the video" and i keep the subscription.
maybe the diy camera video?
Same here!
this video has so much creativity in it, it warps you into another dimension
Watching you go is such a humbling experience. Top notch cinematography btw.
Amazing how what used to require complex custom circuits can now be replaced with very simple off-the-shelf general purpose SBCs and motor controllers. Epic video! Can't wait to see the next part!
Its crazy. So much computing power in a tiny package.
Love your creativity
Thank you! 😊
This feels like Primer. Bravo!
Your knowledge of pcbs as well as ability to implant yourself in other people's thinking processes is astounding. It's something you are born with, that can't be taught.
So incredibly cool to see my name on that screen.
In our lab we have a Bosch CNC-machine from the early 1980s which is running, but the user interface is sooo bad, it also has about no memory at all. I have thought about a refurbish like this for ages - even just the Arduino should be an improvement.
This is running on a Pi and Teensy 4.1 now, its pretty powerful! I was lucky to be able reuse all the power stuff so the conversion was simple, maybe your machine will be also.
Great video bro .
Really impressed by your work
You're a delightful nerd, I love it.
Nice mill. I have been tempted by the lathes from Cortini.
Great video editing.
You have seen any Cortini H105 available? If so we should talk.
That was trippy, dude. I'd watch a whole movie like that! Interesting to see that the design of the CNC controller has so much in common with today's models.
Wow! So cool to see an maker type of video from such an creative perspective! 👍🏼
It ressembles the alien blocks in the Spielberg movie ''Super 8".
You sir surely enough have something special. Keep up the amazing work.
Oh cool! Thanks you!
The effort you put into the video is out of this world, let alone the projects you do. Definitely earned my patreon support.
Thank you!
Dude your aesthetic is giving me life. Keep it the hell up. 👌
Another awesome video Sean!!
Clip... Drag... Find Connection... Log... Clip... Drag... Find Connection... Log... 😆 Awesome video, Sean!!
The daily grind... haha Thanks Becky!
I didn't think the intro of a cnc retrofit video could be so cool.
*Tooooooo theeeee final count down*
How does this channel only have 107k subs. This video is a gem.
I see the influence from R&M, you’ve created a similar relationship with Rick and the Garage AI.
*Connection Complete*
“Yeah I know, I did it.”
Very interesting Mr. Hodgins.
Style for days.
Amazing! Feels like a movie
That was intense viewing! I've never craved a part two so badly :D
You keep levelling up! This is now SeanHodgins3.0 - I'd love to see a "making of" of one of these videos - one of these days - if you ever want to reveal you skillz! EOL
I'm thinking about a second channel as backup, maybe some stuff on there.
I’m all in for the feature length film.
5 Minutes is hard enough! haha
@@SeanHodgins Keep the aesthetics going and we can fanfic how they connect together!
Yep, great new format !!! Made me subscribe asap :)
Next level editing paired with TOT lighting.
Incredible 👏
(Oh and I am super jealous about your mill 😏)
Hahaha, dark room, concrete floor and wall, green mill. Hard to not look like TOT.
Absolutely fantastic!! Love the edit! 👏
oh this is super sick
I love your style guy! Keep it up!
The Algorithm brought me here.
I am quite pleased.
I know a train that has tankers full of tons of those cube things.
I would love to see a more in-depth video about the details and how the old controller used to do things.
You are a f€@&ng genius! Awesome video and electronics skills! I love your projects
Thank you!
"Oh no! what are you doing step pin?"
I loved this, the start up was reminiscent...‘This Old Tony’ came to mind, but you have taken this game to a whole new level 👌
He's basically The modern this old Tony at this Point .
It’s the Final Countdown...
I keep waiting for it to say "Would you like to play a game?"
Thank God
this is next level
Brillant and funny!
this was like watching a movie
Damn, sick opening.
Absolutely love the aesthetic of this video and the OLED display one. Blown away by the amount of work that must have gone into making them!
What a cliffhanger!! Well done video
Ahhh soooo good Sean! Now you will be able to do some serious machining. Level up on the makin'
fine fine... i'll subscribe.
awesome
Wowsers
Who are you !? ?! Where have you been in my CNC life! My Hacker life.. My...life?!
Hey Man! I just discovered you channel! And your content is just plain awesome👌
Just today?! 😁
@@SeanHodgins Naah😅.. I mean some months back. In fact I watched Image Sensor Video long ago but then I didn't know the whole channel was a treasure.
Why do I feel another ARG coming? Great video tho, the production quality is amazing
I love your editing ^-^ Which are the programming languages you know?
That machine was produced a couple of km from where I live lol
That’s really cool!
Yeah. 20% thru and you got my like . One of the great underrated RUclipsrs. My congratulations, sir.
Thanks!
@@SeanHodgins omg thank you for taking the time to reply! Keep up the great work borg man!
One of the best cinematic-like videos you have made so far! Looking forward seeing more of this kind!
Cool stuff. if you are replacing the brains, you should look into Bart Drings Universal CNC controller which is modular and I believe uses his port to run GRBL on an ESP32, which is massively better than a regular arduino.
This controller uses a Teensy 4.1 which is a power house!
dude it's great work. Anyone who is involved with these kinds of projects knows that it takes so much time and effort(at least for the majority of us mortals). Your videos are so high quality too like you are super good at engineering and video editing? what's your caffeine intake lol?
Thanks! Funny you ask. Had to stop drinking caffeine, started making me feel weird. But I love coffee so I drink decaf now!
One day you will fight against programs on the grid and fight for the users...
I'm going to try and get the jump on them!
Hey Sean, how did you manage to display that spinning cube on that pocket television? I’m interested in doing something similar myself.
This was just a simple composite video in, using a TRRS to composite/audio cable. Connected to a pi with an animation running on it.
Hay bro,
I'm curious to know how you convert the microcontroller into the raspberry pi and how makes it work actually
If possible, could make a separate video of it
This my friend, is completely another level! Keep it up. You deserve much more views/subscribers then you actualy have.
Production quality is very good. Music etc. Cool.
wow
Great now my eyes are going to start bleeding.
This deserves millions of views!! Awesome work guys
This old Tony would be proud
DUDE!! I fucking love this creative direction, take as long as you need to produce these
Can you press thumbs up multiple times?
When you commit to an aesthetic- and you execute it this well. The result is in a league of its own 🔥
most underappreciated channel on the entire youtube. Someone leak his works on reddit. I know what reddit loves!
I have no idea what subreddit this video would fall into. lol
@@SeanHodgins r/BadAss
This video just appeared for me, the style, the setup and what you are doing immediately gave you a new sub =) Your style reminds a bit of This Old Tony =)
Holy shit, the stuff you find on youtube.. incredible quality
Very cool video, though I wish you could have gone into detail as to how you made the conversion work.
Ill probably go over a custom board when it gets made.
2:15 "Clip, Drag, Find Connection, Log, Repeat, Repeat, Repeat" seems like it's referencing something, but I can't quite remember what it is.. 🤔
WOW...
YES. Just ... YES.
RUclips brought me here, I find a bit hard to listen, your microphone is low and lacks clarity. Maybe use some equalization and boost the volume a bit. Would be nice to know what are the problems you are solving to brink knowledge to the audience, but I like long videos so I am suspicious to talk.
i think my youtube broken
How the flying hell did i miss your channel?! Najs!! Cool cutting, cool milling. You earned another sub :)
Mr. Robot vibes
I'm 56 seconds in and that was the nerdiest coolest freaking thing I've ever seen.
I'd like to try and find an old square-column vertical bed mill like one of the smaller OKK ones. The problem is finding one which isn't too big. The MH-2V has either a 5hp or 7.5hp 50-taper spindle and a 12"x51" table. I wouldn't want to go much bigger than that. The spindles don't run too fast (1600RPM) but I could use a speeder for jobs which need higher RPM.
Pretty decent size! I wouldn't mind bigger if they weren't such a pain to move.
I operated a cnc plasma cutter that was only 1 of 3 made back in the 70s using punch cards to do basic shapes using oxyacetylene, but had been upgraded to a stationary plasma torch blowing down through a 6" tube into a metal box that had to be empty a couple times every shift. I loaded the sheet metal onto a platen of 1-1/2" steel ball bearings and the clamps al9ng the rear of the setup would move the plate along 2 axes, after zeroing out the metal sheet.
The main screw drive bearings died during my shift as it would erratically lose it's zero and have to be reset. The company installed a new one which they had to do some torch cuts to make fit, but last I heard they invested in a $1/2 million laser to take this historical workhorse's place.
"So I quickly laser cut a mount, shoved in a raspberry pi and a grbl controller and wired it up. Should be enough to get us cutting."
Jesus Christ Sean, calm down! I still struggle getting my pants on the right way round!
your assistant's, (or whatever it is) voice sounds like the "transmission" voice on endtroducing
Next time somebody asks me for a custom PCB I'm going to glue an rpi to a breadboard
Everything is custom, if you try hard enough.
Only had to watch half before I subscribed. Awesome video
the advancement of technology is proportional to the things you do. the better the technique, the more useless things can be produced.
wow
wow
Hey Sean, What model Casio Pocketvision was that in the opening sequence? So cool!!
wow
