  • Returning to Mainali with some of my recent pieces to show to the Siddi quilters and get some feedback. This is a return trip, last year I found them in India, and learned their technique of quilting. Now I wanted to show them what I have done and see what they think.

Look how light travels thru the quilt, like a stained glass window. So beautiful.

It's fascinating to see them looking at your work and critiquing it, through their masterful eyes. You've obviously learned well, Grasshopper. :-)

You are so keen a student and I guess that's what makes you such a great teacher. I was looking for videos oh how to read music when I came across yours and then followed your channel to here. Your video on reading music was the most useful video on the topic I've ever come across, just wanted to let you know.

oh thank you, I would love also to learn how they make such beautiful quilts, though like yourself, I think I would use traditional backing. It's so, freeing a style.

margaret your quilts look sew beautiful to me, luv the colors. the handstitching looks awesome i think yours came out more decorative than functional for their taste? either way i cant wait to see more of these, and hoping to see the fabrics you bought.

Yes very interesting. Your stiches could be compared to a painters brush strokes. I think your work they beautify the enviroment they live in. I know your a true artist by your dedacation and I see your enjoyment when you look at the camera.

They look beautiful but I guess its not all about the look. It's not always fun having your art criticized but they seemed very positve in their advice =)
