As a gen z, I’ve decided to just buy a flip phone and download music yt to mp3…paying $14.99 a month for the same music I listen to everyday is crazy.
These companies don’t realize they’re pushing customers away. Alot of us are connecting more to physical media: cd, mp3, flip/“dump” phones, etc. I’m very glad that these older forms of technology are still available

I much prefer paying a content creator directly as a subscription than to pay a platform directly for the content they put out. My dad is an 80’s kid/90’s teen and just like you, has called out a lot of things that will change. He has been telling me for 15 years having your own website is critical!
I’m not paying for content, period. I cut off my cable back in the day because I didn’t want the bill. That bill has since been replaced by media subscriptions and it’s crazy. These media outlets and influencers are not necessities. Looks like everyone on these apps will need a new job, soon enough.

They're acting like other music and social media platforms don't exist. I stopped using Instagram in 2016 to protect my mental health. I used a lesser known social media app and it works just fine. The internet is endless, people are just lazy to find other options. These big dick tech companies are going down too. 2024 is the year of popcorn 🍿 because this shit gets more interesting everyday.
I'll give it about a month for instagram to realize people are just ignoring they're subscription plan and eventually they'll drop it cause this strategy is not gonna last long anyway.
I tried IG for a minute & went right back to the Tube. I found them offensive & the Trolls seemed really psychopathic. It was stalker-ish. No IG or streaming music here. We refuse to become their prey. 🙄😏

Honestly, if they make us pay for social media, it might be a blessing in disguise. We spend too much time on our phones, social media makes us sadder, overload of information that you don’t even know is correct or not half the time. I for one will NOT being paying of FB or Instagram. The only downside for me is that I have a business that uses social media.
