Actually zuo gong 做工 means doing manual labour, gong zuo 工作 means career. I said zuo gong 做工 to some china chinese housemates when I was living overseas and they corrected me. It can be offensive to some if you keep saying zuo gong 做工 because to them you are implying that they can only do manual labour. Like 放工 is cantonese translated into mandarin and not an actual chinese word, 下班 is the correct way of saying it. In english hehe is playful laughter but in mandarin hehe 呵呵 it means forceful awkward laughter. Luckily they corrected me if not I’ll just offend more and more people without knowing it. But thankfully I had the chance to explain to them that those are just variations of the same language and merely cultural differences.
i’ve tried many dating apps before and unfortunately so far only had either bad or neutral experiences with them. i would consider myself a little more traditional and hence i wouldn’t want to jump into a DTF relationship immediately. and unfortunately, many of the guys i meet and match with are all DTF only which makes me a little upset and frustrated :-( some were also rather rude about it.
