Oh my god! Safiya is so cool! I loved this game as a kid. My favorite was Age of Mythology cause I got to use Egyptian gods to smite my enemies (Bast was my favorite cause kittycat). Also remember Starcraft, Warcraft, Total Annihilation etc etc RTS games. They were the jam back then. (and right now, but they take so much time to play)

Ughhhh yes these are the best games ever! I've been playing a lot of Mythology lately, just trying to beat random maps on "hard". The jump from medium to hard is significant and I'm not very good but these games are like a perfect little chess match every time 🥰

i can’t believe i missed this- i was SUCH an age of empires buff as a pre-teen. unlike safiya i had no one to play the games with, and i was really only interested in the historical campaigns, so i ended up playing all three of them and age of mythology (which is CRAZY in campaign mode, the greeks go to hades at one point) and watching saf play aoe is SO much fun- if you ever want to do another aoe stream, they’ve really revamped aoe 1, and i had so much fun playing it. aoe 3 is also a lot of fun!

Age of Empires is still a very popular RTS. They have recently released a remastered version which includes new campaigns, Cultures and new game play features.
I have strong memories of playing one of the Age of Empires game as a little kid, primarily with the aim to use walls to build little stables for the horse chariots to live in. I don't know if I was ever really aware fighting was a thing in it.

god i played this game when i was like, 6??? and i haven't seen it sense then. MAJOR nostalgia seeing this again, love it.
